His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 2022: Chapter 579: Husband, That Kind of Person Doesn’t Deserve to Pursue You (Part 2)

Qin Mu could only sincerely agree with her, but she already guessed that the girl probably didn’t do well in this exam.

However, it’s just the beginning; everything can still be remedied.

Qin Mu opened the test papers and found there were two sheets. She first looked at the language test, starting by checking the mistakes. Actually, there were hardly any mistakes on the first page, and only four errors on the second page. As the teacher hadn’t marked any mistakes incorrectly, Qin Mu felt much better as a parent. She quietly solved the problems herself, holding the paper with one hand while pulling Huanhuan into the sofa with the other hand.

Seeing that she wasn’t angry, Huanhuan sat beside her and pointed at the questions she got wrong: ”Mom, I’ll be serious next time.”

”Okay!”

Qin Mu responded briefly and continued looking at the questions.

”Mom, are you angry?”

Huanhuan was still nervous, her big eyes looking up at Qin Mu as if every breath Qin Mu took was crucial.

”Why be angry? Didn’t you just say you’ll be serious next time?”

Qin Mu took a serious look at her and then continued to look at the test paper, seemingly indifferent to the matter.

Huanhuan bit her lip, feeling a load lifted from her heart.

”But next time, be mindful. Don’t just say you’ll be serious without actually taking responsible actions. With your intelligence, isn’t it easy to score full marks on such simple questions?”

After checking the other test paper, Qin Mu explained the questions to her, striving to appear not too harsh while ensuring Huanhuan registered the advice deeply.

Huanhuan nodded vigorously: ”Yes! I’ll definitely score a hundred next time!”

Qin Mu hugged her shoulder: ”A hundred isn’t our goal; as long as you’re serious, no matter how many mistakes you make, Dad and Mom won’t be mad at you, okay?”

Huanhuan looked at her mother for a while and felt completely relaxed, but suddenly realized she might not really understand her mom.

”Alright!”

Huanhuan felt a warmth in her heart; she had been avoiding spending time with her parents, always living in her grandparents’ pampering. Yet today she suddenly felt she might have been wrong—you shouldn’t only rely on your grandparents because your parents seem to love you too. No, they super love you!

”Mom! I love you so much!”

Huanhuan suddenly got up, kneeling beside her, hugging her neck and giving her a kiss on her cheek.

Qin Mu...

This...

Mu Yichen stood leaning against the doorway with hands in pockets, watching the mother and daughter from behind the sofa, unconsciously a smile playing on his lips.

Qin Mu, having received Western education, never put much emphasis on scores. With his understanding of Qin Mu, she wouldn’t turn this into a political lecture over scores, and indeed, it aligned with his expectations.

”Since the mistakes have all been corrected, and quite well, you should go to sleep. But practice your handwriting well in the future, or else you’ll be surpassed by your brother in two years!”

Qin Mu glanced at her test paper again, giving her a deliberately sharp look.

Huanhuan chuckled, snatched the test paper from her hand, and ran outside, saying as she ran, ”I won’t be surpassed by him!”

Huanhuan admitted she hadn’t taken this exam seriously. She summed up why she didn’t do well, realizing that during the exam, her mind was occupied with thoughts of her grandparents taking her out after school, not treating the exam as a significant matter. When her playmates all scored better than her, as the teacher announced the scores, she quietly began reflecting on herself.

Yet, facing her parents was different than she thought. She assumed Qin Mu would be furiously jumping, and Mu Yi would sternly forbid such low scores again.

Her grandparents showed concern over the scores, worried her parents might scold her, but unable to offer solutions. However, with a few words from her parents, Huanhuan decided henceforth to spend good time with them.

After Huanhuan left, Mu Yichen went in and gently closed the door.

Qin Mu leaned back on the sofa with a sigh, looking up at the man upside down in her view: ”I rarely feel nervous about saying the wrong thing in front of Huanhuan!”

Mu Yichen chuckled, walked over, and adjusted her head: ”But you did very well.”

”Oh! Scores!”

Qin Mu shook her head and glanced at Mu Yichen: ”Why did she tell you first then me?”

Qin Mu knew Mu Yichen was standing outside earlier and also guessed that Huanhuan had likely talked to him first.
