His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 2004: Chapter 574: Which Wild Man? (Part 3)

After President Mu finished eating, he gently wiped his mouth with a napkin, then lifted his eyes. ”I’m done eating!”

”Go find your Mrs. Mu. With the way you cling to her all day every day like you’re on heat, I dare say, in a few years tops, you’ll be getting nothing but eye-rolls.”

Qiao Yi couldn’t resist adding that, his expression looking like it was just begging for a punch.

Mu Yichen suddenly laughed. ”Honestly, I think even when our Mrs. Mu rolls her eyes, she’s insanely beautiful!”

Mu Yichen walked up to him and deliberately lowered his head to speak right next to his ear.

Qiao Yi’s mouth pulled into a tight straight line, feeling like he was going to be disgusted to death.

”Yeah, yeah, then you’d better take good care of that life of yours. Watch out she doesn’t lock you up someday.”

”Hmph! I’ve always been firmly in her grasp!”

Mu Yichen looked even more smug, that proud look on his face like nothing in this world could knock him down.

Mu Yichen gave his shoulder a hard pat and left.

Qiao Yi was so mad he was about to lose it, gripping his wineglass tightly with both hands. ”Don’t you two try to stop me. Just let me drink myself to death!”

”Want me to order you a few more bottles?”

Zhao Huai didn’t really dare show Mu Yichen any disrespect, but with Qiao Yi, he often crossed the line with his jokes.

Qiao Yi shot him a sideways look, and Zhao Huai chuckled. ”You using Qin Mu to torture him is just asking for trouble yourself. Since when has he ever cared what kind of face Qin Mu pulls at him? Have you forgotten the time Qin Mu didn’t want him, shut him out?”

”Tch! That brat Mu Yichen is just a masochist. He grovels in front of Qin Mu all day, then turns around and comes to torture us. That brat is really...”

Qiao Yi ground his teeth as he weighed his words. It was like he’d suddenly remembered how much suffering Mu Yichen had gone through with Qin Mu, and his heart balanced out a bit. He wasn’t quite so mad anymore.

”What goes around comes around. Heaven spares no one!”

Zhao Huai suddenly said with a laugh, thinking that relationships between men and women are just like this. One keeps making a fuss, the other keeps indulging them. Even if they quarrel to the point of talking divorce, it won’t be long before the one who said ”divorce” regrets it.

”Do you guys often tear each other down like this right in front of each other?”

Yang Qin asked curiously, cautiously voicing what she’d been wondering.

Qiao Yi and Zhao Huai exchanged a look, both realizing how childish they were, and couldn’t help but laugh.

Yang Qin...

She didn’t understand. All these years, she’d never had that kind of relationship with anyone. She was a bit envious and also found it childish, but... what did any of this have to do with her?

After a while, when she left, would anyone here still remember her? Would anyone ever bring her up?

Yang Qin didn’t know why these sad thoughts suddenly came to her. She abruptly lowered her head and let out a helpless little laugh, only that smile tasted bitter.

Zhao Huai and Qiao Yi looked at her in confusion, then soon left together.

——

When Mu Yichen arrived at the studio, Qin Mu wasn’t there. He texted her, and she said she was eating at the restaurant next door. He didn’t tell her he’d already arrived, just went upstairs alone.

There was only one person on duty, a designer who was engrossed in working on a draft and didn’t notice him going up.

When he got upstairs, he went straight into her office first, and immediately saw a set of clothes placed there. It wasn’t in any particularly fancy packaging, just simple wrapping, but the clothes inside were clearly new and had a very good texture. In other words, once they were hung up in a fashion boutique, they wouldn’t be cheap either. Mu Yichen stared at it a few more times, then frowned in displeasure. She’d suddenly made clothes for some man again?

It didn’t look like she’d made them by hand herself, since the factory tags were still on. If she’d done it, she wouldn’t have left those. But he still felt uncomfortable. The thought that she wouldn’t make clothes for him, yet was making them for so many other men, made it hard for him to breathe. He leaned back on the sofa, clasped his head in both hands, stared at the ceiling, and let out a sigh.

When Qin Mu and Xiaomei came back to the studio, she was still saying, ”The factory staff just came by to drop off the clothes. I don’t know where they put them.”

”They definitely left them in your office. You kept stressing that no one else was allowed to touch them! You treasure them that much!”

Hearing how worried Qin Mu sounded, Xiaomei couldn’t resist teasing her. Xiaomei thought, this really looked like she was going to be making clothes for her husband from now on. But designing clothes was such a hassle. Ready-to-wear was fine too! Take her, for example—she just grabbed off-the-rack stuff for Zhao Huai. It all looked pretty much the same anyway.

”Treasure what? It’s just a set of clothes. I’ll go up and take a look!”

Qin Mu glanced upstairs and, not seeing her clothes on the first floor, headed up, in a pretty good mood.

Of course, the main reason she was in such a good mood was that even though her husband was injured recently, he’d been incredibly gentle.

Mm, when her husband was gentle, her heart felt like it had been dipped in honey—sweet and blissful.

When she came into the studio earlier, she hadn’t bothered to look at the parking lot, so she didn’t notice the extra car out there, let alone know that her husband had come. Not until she entered her office, happily intending to go check the clothes draped over her desk, did her eyes first get drawn to the huge ”creature” on the sofa.

Oh, compared to the clothes, President Mu did count as a hulking giant.

Qin Mu jumped when she saw him. ”Aren’t you supposed to be really busy?”

”I am really busy, but I still have to care about my own wife, don’t I?”

Mu Yichen didn’t even look at her, lying on the sofa and staring at the ceiling.

Qin Mu could tell there was something off in his voice and had no idea what was wrong with him, so she decided not to bother with him for now and went to check if the clothes turned out well first.

Qin Mu’s mood lifted even more. How did he happen to come?

She pulled off the thin wrapping bag and picked up the suit. The texture spoke for itself—the material was something she’d personally chosen, and everything else was perfect too. She suddenly felt that the craftsmen at the factory were getting better and better. Then she turned to look at Mu Yichen. ”President Mu, try it on!”

Just in time he was here, Qin Mu thought. Perfect.

Mu Yichen only shot her a cold look, then frowned. ”You want me to try on clothes for some other man?”

”Huh?”

”Does that guy have a build very similar to mine?”

”Huh?”

”Who is it? Which wild man?”

Mu Yichen finally sat up, his tone interrogative, his gaze locked on her, scrutinizing.

Qin Mu...
