His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 2013: Chapter 577: Never-Ending Greed (2)

After Zhang Hongyun finished speaking, her crying became even more pitiable. Fan Qing felt as if a knife had stabbed into their heart, and looked toward the man driving ahead.

Tan Yiwen seemed to feel Fan Qing’s pleading gaze: ”We don’t have any place there; you’re definitely staying at some hotel, right? We’ll take you there!”

Zhang Hongyun didn’t expect Tan Yiwen to be so uncompassionate, but she still provided the address.

”Forget it, she should just come home with us!”

After Fan Qing dropped her off at the hotel, they suddenly changed their mind and gently pulled Tan Yiwen towards the back of the car.

Zhang Hongyun didn’t know what they were saying but knew that Fan Qing was probably speaking on her behalf, feeling slightly excited but keeping it under control.

She really didn’t want to stay in a hotel again; it offered no sense of safety. She wanted to stay with familiar people. If she could live with Fan Qing and Tan Yiwen, it would be perfect, after all, having a tall and strong man like Tan Yiwen around would make most people hesitant to bully her.

Tan Yiwen eventually agreed, then asked Zhang Hongyun to pack up and go with them to the apartment.

At night when it was time to sleep, Fan Qing and Tan Yiwen were about to return to their room, while Zhang Hongyun stood at the guest room door, softly asking, ”Qing Qing, can you sleep with me tonight? I... I’m a bit scared!”

Fan Qing was taken aback for a moment, then looked at the man who had already entered, Tan Yiwen frowned unhappily; he really had no idea how much he hated Zhang Hongyun, whether the radiant and sunny girl he originally liked really existed, or if he had just imagined her.

”Please, Yiwen, can you?”

Zhang Hongyun asked pleadingly, unconsciously biting her lip as she pitifully gazed at Fan Qing, knowing Tan Yiwen was standing at the door.

Tan Yiwen was extremely annoyed: ”It’s your choice!”

Fan Qing glanced at him: ”I’ll go keep Hongyun company, then come back!”

Fan Qing gently comforted Tan Yiwen, who became even more irritated, then turned around and went to shower.

Fan Qing, helpless, went to Zhang Hongyun’s room again. Zhang Hongyun, like a startled child, whispered to her: ”Thank you!”

Fan Qing didn’t say anything, just smiled and closed the door with her. That night, after the two women had bathed, they lay on the bed, but Zhang Hongyun wouldn’t sleep, pulling her into endless conversation.

Tan Yiwen was alone in another room, incredibly annoyed, they had only been dating for a few months, yet the woman was so easily taken away.

Fan Qing eventually answered her call, and then they rushed to the nightclub, unknowingly witnessing that scene.

Fan Qing bravely confronted those three people, supported by Tan Yiwen’s backing, and made him see her in a new light.

Fan Qing’s idea was to call Zhang Hongyun’s elders. As their fellow townspeople, they had no other way.

If Zhang Hongyun didn’t always seek them out when she got in trouble, they could have escaped peacefully. But since Zhang Hongyun regarded them as trustworthy fellow townspeople, they had the responsibility to let her family know about her situation here, and take Zhang Hongyun back.

Perhaps returning home, Zhang Hongyun would rein herself in. She really was a good girl at home before; she was always quite proud, but her smile always seemed very clear, as if it could illuminate the hearts of many boys, but...

No one is perfect, and coming to Rongcheng, this bustling metropolis, her changes were really shocking and eye-opening.

In the middle of the night, Fan Qing wanted to return, but Zhang Hongyun reached out and embraced her, murmuring half-asleep: ”Qing Qing, don’t leave me okay? I’m still scared!”

Fan Qing gently patted the arm on her, feeling somewhat uneasy.

The next morning, Fan Qing called Zhang Family’s elders, briefly explaining Zhang Hongyun’s situation here, hoping they would come to take Zhang Hongyun back.

After hanging up, Fan Qing returned to their room, but Tan Yiwen was already dressed and getting ready to go out.

”Is it time?”

Fan Qing walked over to help him with his tie, asking as she did.

”Yes!”

Tan Yiwen looked down at her, feeling a bit sulky.

”What’s wrong?”

Fan Qing asked softly, noticing his mood.

”Waited for you all night!”

”What could I do? She wouldn’t sleep!”

Fan Qing chuckled, finding it amusing, genuinely helpless.

Tan Yiwen sighed: ”Have you spoken with her parents?”

Fan Qing nodded: ”That’s good, once we send Buddha back home, we can consider our mission accomplished.”
