His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 2015: Chapter 577: Greed Knows No Bounds (Part 4)

The clerk saw her come over and froze: ”Boss!”

”Yeah! Shh!”

Qin Mingzhu gestured for silence, then quietly stood to the side pretending to be just an ordinary staff member.

Zhang Hongyun and Tan Yiwen walked in, then looked around at the environment. It was indeed quite nice. He thought he could bring Fan Qing here sometime; Fan Qing would definitely love it here, genuinely love it.

”Does it feel like being back at school?”

Zhang Hongyun asked him, since he was right by her side, even though he was holding a book that seemed boring to her.

”Not really! I’ve been away from school for too many years; I’ve basically forgotten!”

Forgotten what it felt like to be at school.

But Zhang Hongyun still looked at him with that soft gaze, then took out a book herself: ”I want to read over there for a while. Can you accompany me?”

”Sure!”

Tan Yiwen held his book and went to read with Zhang Hongyun, ordering two cups of coffee.

Tan Yiwen didn’t know if Fan Qing went to work or not, but he couldn’t help feeling uncomfortable. He was accompanying a woman he currently despised the most, reading a book.

Zhang Hongyun’s affectation really made him feel disgusted.

Why did what he once thought was the best now make him feel so sick?

”This beginning is really sad. The female lead was actually dumped by the male lead, and the female lead’s sister got together with him.”

Zhang Hongyun said softly, as if she had seriously read the beginning.

Tan Yiwen slightly raised his eyes, then looked around: ”Isn’t it better not to talk while reading here?”

Zhang Hongyun raised her eyes slightly, then smiled faintly and obediently kept quiet.

A moment later, the clerk brought the coffee they ordered. Tan Yiwen leaned back in the sofa chair, holding the middle of the book in one hand and sipping coffee with the other, looking very much at ease.

Zhang Hongyun also picked up her coffee to take a sip, only the taste...

Qin Mingzhu was secretly peeking from the cashier’s side, wanting to see Zhang Hongyun’s expression at this moment.

”Boss, are we going to get complained about?”

The clerk asked Qin Mingzhu worriedly.

”What’s there to be afraid of?”

She had just gone to the diner bar to make the coffee herself. She didn’t deliberately make it bad; she was very serious, but it still didn’t turn out well.

”What’s the matter?”

Tan Yiwen asked when he saw her pained expression.

”This coffee...”

Zhang Hongyun frowned, trying to critique, but couldn’t find the words.

”This coffee is pretty good! The taste is very pure!”

”Pure? Isn’t it too bitter?”

Zhang Hongyun’s expression remained pained because it tasted horribly bad.

”I think it’s quite good!”

Tan Yiwen commented.

Zhang Hongyun took another small sip. Quite good?

How could she find it extremely unpalatable? She was about to spit it out.

”I need to go to the restroom!”

She wondered if her taste was off.

Or was Tan Yiwen’s taste so odd?

She only felt it was so bitter that her mouth couldn’t open, bitter.

Tan Yiwen instinctively took a glance at her cup of coffee; it seemed indeed different from his.

”How’s business today?”

The voice wasn’t strong or aggressive, even somewhat soft, as if afraid of disturbing the guests reading inside, but it still sounded familiar to him. Tan Yiwen turned his head.

And then he saw the figure of Qin Mu.

”It’s okay, but sis, Zhang Hongyun is also here!”

Qin Mingzhu winked at her.

Qin Mu raised her eyebrows in confusion. At the same time, Tan Yiwen adjusted himself in his seat, guessing at the possible problem with Zhang Hongyun’s coffee, unconsciously smiling softly, then continued pretending to know nothing, sipping his coffee and reading.

Qin Mu glanced in the direction Qin Mingzhu indicated and saw Tan Yiwen. If he wasn’t with Zhang Hongyun, she might have greeted him. But since he was here with Zhang Hongyun, she decided to pass. Qin Mu was there to pick up a book that the clerk had already set aside at the counter; after taking it, she left.

Qin Mingzhu felt a bit let down seeing her leave; she had hoped Qin Mu would stay and watch the commotion in the café.

When Zhang Hongyun came out from the washroom, she had already retouched her makeup. As she walked back to her seat, she smiled innocuously at Tan Yiwen: ”Did you wait long?”

”It’s fine!”

Tan Yiwen just took one look at her. Her heavy makeup didn’t really suit the bookstore atmosphere, but it had nothing to do with him. He continued lowering his head to read.

Qin Mingzhu was feeling irritable waiting for them to check out. She thought Zhang Hongyun would buy a book and leave, but she spent so long there, and it seemed like she was fishing for a man?

Although this man didn’t seem like an ordinary young man, he was definitely not super wealthy, probably a self-reliant and promising young talent. Was this what Zhang Hongyun was into?
