Gene Unlocking: I Evolve Every Day

Chapter 479: Chapter 413: Inhuman Atrocity

Three or four days passed by in a flash.

There are still twenty days left until the gamma-ray burst arrives.

Due to the heavy blow dealt a few days ago, global harmony has been established.

Lu Li naturally hasn’t encountered any ”online harassment” since then.

Originally thought to be a mere interlude, but who knew it hid turbulent undercurrents.

In the morning, Lu Li, as usual, woke up from deep sleep and checked his condition.

Soon, he learned about his advancement; his current energy storage is equivalent to 0.4 of a sun.

”Improvement has slowed significantly compared to a few days ago.”

Lu Li pondered, roughly understanding why this was happening.

It’s simple, these days his emotions haven’t been stimulated much at all.

Although he tried to maintain a good mood or recalled past events to get angry, these weren’t real stimuli, and their impact on him was minimal, so it’s normal for the evolution speed to slow down.

Additionally, Lu Li knew that as he grew stronger, evolution would slow down at a certain stage.

For instance, it would slow down when approaching the next deep evolution.

Although he didn’t predict that he was going to undergo deep evolution, it had been over ten days since the fifth deep evolution, and he had indeed improved a lot.

Based on previous experience, he should be on the verge of deep evolution by now.

So it’s only natural for his evolution speed to slow down compared to before.

”I don’t know how long it will take to enter the sixth deep evolution.”

Lu Li secretly pondered for a while and then sensed the location of each ”Yang Spirit” avatar.

With his strength increasing significantly, his ”Yang Spirit” avatars, which started with two, had grown to sixteen.

Moreover, Lu Li found something interesting.

He had roughly doubled his strength these days, but that ”entity avatar” was still as powerful as before, with no improvement whatsoever.

He had expected this for a long time, but really observing this phenomenon, he could only shake his head helplessly.

Lu Li was about to test his speed as usual.

Suddenly, he saw through his ”omniscient perspective” that someone was lurking near his parents’ residence in Huazhou Junting.

There were four people, three men, and one woman.

From their whispering voices, it could be deduced that they were from a certain Island Country.

The slightly taller young man among them looked angry and whispered, ”Baka, that Zuzongren guy intends to destroy the world. We’re all going to die anyway, so we might as well go down with him.”

Another round-faced man, with a crazed look in his eyes, said, ”For the glory of the empire, I would rather die!”

The remaining man, who somewhat resembled Tōni Damu, snorted coldly, ”He may use the higher-ups to silence us, but my heart will never extinguish. Those in power must have made some deal with him for survival, and that’s why they suppress our speech. This time, I’m going to make this hateful guy pay dearly and kill his parents!”

The young woman, though silent, had already pulled out a palmander pistol from her pocket.

From their words, it wasn’t hard to realize they were there to assassinate Lu Li’s parents.

Observing this scene through the ”omniscient perspective,” Lu Li’s expression changed.

He didn’t move at all, just manipulated the energy in heaven and earth.

The next moment, those four Island Country people completely disintegrated into particles and vanished without a trace.

”These people are really crazy, actually wanting to kill my parents?”

Lu Li squinted his eyes.

Although he had already killed them with a ”particle disintegration” technique, he couldn’t help but feel angry.

To Lu Li, his parents held the utmost position.

Now that someone wanted to assassinate his parents, he naturally felt enraged.

He pondered whether to seize the opportunity to deliver a heavy blow to a certain Island Country, perhaps by sinking it entirely.

After contemplating for a moment, he discarded the idea.

It wasn’t due to any fear.

But even Lu Li was taken aback by his own thought.

He had just contemplated annihilating one or two billion people!

Though, due to certain historical reasons, he didn’t have good feelings towards one or two billion people in a certain Island Country and thought it was no big deal if they were wiped out, this wasn’t the first time he had such a ”destructive impulse” notion.

For instance, a few days ago, when people harassed him online, he considered letting humankind experience an early apocalypse.

Such thoughts are undoubtedly terrifying.

It signifies that he viewed humans like a butcher views pigs and sheep.

No, even more terrifying than a butcher.

Butchers kill pigs and slaughter sheep for a living.

Whereas he, merely because of inner dissatisfaction, wished to end the world.

This is a display of ”losing humanity.”

Lu Li had long suspected that he might one day lose his humanity, but he hadn’t expected that day to arrive so swiftly.

In his daily life, interacting with his parents, Liu Kexin, Shen Xia, Gu Wei, and others, he never entertained thoughts of killing, never perceived a loss of humanity.

This online harassment incident, along with the few Island Country people wanting to assassinate his parents earlier, ignited the ”demon” long suppressed in Lu Li’s heart, giving birth to the thought that those who submit to me may not prosper, but those who oppose me will certainly perish.

”No, I can’t have such a strong urge to kill, or Earth will undoubtedly be destroyed by my hands.”

Lu Li tried his best to suppress his anger.

To prevent himself from forming rampant thoughts of killing indiscriminately and destroying the world.

He glanced toward the Island Country’s location, took a deep breath, and ultimately did not destroy it.
