Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 276: Chapter 153: How Good Is He? (Second Update, Han Iron Grace +9)

Lawrence Winters rolled his eyes dismissively and said, ”Mr. Fu runs an entertainment company and has met countless beauties from the entertainment industry. Why would he have any ulterior motives towards me? You’re overestimating your niece!”

Nick Zeller smirked and ignored Lawrence Winters, placing two bags down and saying to Gabrielle Winters, who was busy on the side, ”This woven bag has mountain goods like bamboo fungi, pine mushrooms, monkey head mushrooms, and bird’s nests. Store them for later cooking. I’ll take the mandarin ducks to the market, have them cleaned, and bring them back. - Sis, do you need me to buy any groceries?”

Gabrielle Winters looked at the supplies in the kitchen and said, ”Buy some ginger and garlic; we’re out. If there are fresh ribs and lotus root, get some so I can make lotus root stew with ribs, which your master should like.”

”Alright, I’m off then.” Nick Zeller carried the burlap bag with the mandarin ducks and left.

Lawrence Winters jumped down from the high stool, happily saying, ”Wow, there’s bamboo fungi and pine mushrooms! The master is so considerate; he knows I love it! And I also love the lotus root stew with ribs! Mom’s the best!”

Gabrielle Winters smiled and said, ”The master treats you well, remember to be filial to him.”

Lawrence Winters nodded, watching Gabrielle Winters take the mountain goods out of the woven bag.

Kenneth Osborne also came back relatively early today.

When he walked in and saw Lawrence Winters in the kitchen, he was quite surprised, ”Nora, aren’t you at work today? Or did you come home early?”

Lawrence Winters remembered she hadn’t mentioned fetching the master with her uncle to Kenneth Osborne, so she quickly covered up by saying, ”I took the day off today.”

She smiled and pulled him over to Nick Zeller’s room door, saying, ”I went with my uncle to pick up his master today, who is also my grandmaster, just came down from the mountain. He’s inside getting ready, so don’t be too surprised later.”

Kenneth Osborne raised an eyebrow, ”Uncle Nick really has a master?”

Lawrence Winters: ”...”

At this moment, the door to Nick Zeller’s room opened, and an elderly man in traditional attire stared at Kenneth Osborne, ”What do you mean Uncle Nick really has a master? Didn’t he ever mention he had a master?! Is he planning on denying his teacher?!”

Kenneth Osborne quickly glanced at this elderly man.

His hair was graying, but his face was rosy, probably due to his chubbiness, and you could barely see any wrinkles, except for a few crow’s feet at the corners of his eyes.

He had just showered, so his hair was slightly damp. The traditional attire seemed to be made of silk, with a darkened spot near the shoulders close to the neck, where water had dripped.

Even though it was just a glance, Kenneth Osborne keenly noticed the old man’s features were actually very well-defined and handsome, but evidently lived a rough life without care, and was chubby, so at first glance, he wasn’t stunning.

But if you looked a bit longer, you would feel that his appearance looked incredibly pleasant. - Only those with facial features matching the golden ratio would give such a comfortable feeling.

This person is Nick Zeller’s master?

Seeing Kenneth Osborne not speaking, Lawrence Winters got a little anxious and quickly tried to smooth things over, smiling, ”Grandmaster, please don’t get angry, this is Kenneth Osborne, Brother Kenneth, he’s our neighbor in River City, grew up with me, and treats me very well.”

She nudged Kenneth Osborne, ”Brother Kenneth, this is my grandmaster, quickly address him...”

Address? Address how?

Kenneth Osborne was momentarily speechless, but after a moment, he smiled and said, ”Hello, Grandmaster.”

The old Daoist furrowed his brows and said, ”Don’t call me Grandmaster; you’re not my grand-disciple. The title of Grandmaster isn’t one to address casually.”

”Then what do we call you?” Lawrence Winters asked puzzledly, ”Can’t he call you the same way I do?”

”What is he to you?” The old Daoist suddenly widened his eyes and asked.

Lawrence Winters paused, ”He’s my Brother Kenneth, a brother who’s as close as a real one.”

”Real brother?” The old Daoist looked at Kenneth Osborne with a strange expression and chuckled, ”I don’t remember your mom having other kids before you?”

”I said he’s a neighbor, as close as a real brother, but not a real brother,” Lawrence Winters continued to explain.

Kenneth Osborne suddenly felt a bit annoyed and said lightly, ”I’m not her real brother, nor am I like a real brother. Sorry for disturbing, I’ll return to my room.”

He turned and left, providing only a straight back to Lawrence Winters.

Lawrence Winters watched him leave, feeling he was angry, but was at a loss for words and didn’t know how to coax him back.

The old Daoist attentively observed Lawrence Winters’ expression, the teasing smile on his face gradually fading.

Lawrence Winters was dazed for quite a while before turning back, not expecting the old Daoist to be so close, as if trying to peer into her eyes.
