Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 274: Chapter 152: Another Scheme

The old Daoist’s eyes were smiling as he looked over.

Nick Zeller: ”!!!”

No matter how much he planned, he forgot about his niece’s trait as a ”little money-grubber”!

Back then, he shouldn’t have written about Lawrence Winters’ ”little money-grubber” trait as if it were something amusing!

Nick Zeller regrets it now, deeply regrets it.

But when both his master and apprentice looked at him with meanings in their eyes, Nick Zeller’s mental state crumbled.

He lowered his head helplessly and said softly, ”Then you can stay with me, as long as Master doesn’t mind my room being messy.”

”That’s fine, you’re messy, could you be messier than me?” The old Daoist shook his robe, shedding a layer of dust.

Nick Zeller looked at his car getting all dirty, and suddenly he felt heartache like a thousand stings.

Lawrence Winters didn’t expect that in the last ten years, the grandmaster had become even more ”carefree”!

She twitched the corner of her mouth and said to the grandmaster in the back seat, ”Grandmaster, please don’t tease my uncle. He treasures his car very much...”

The old Daoist nodded, ”Got it, from now on I’ll just vent on his car.”

Lawrence Winters: ...

Did she just give the grandmaster more ammunition?

Nick Zeller shot Lawrence Winters a look of dissatisfaction, clearly blaming her for being a ”lousy teammate”!

Lawrence Winters’ eyes flickered, and she shamefully lowered her head, rubbing her seatbelt with both hands, not daring to say a word.

The old Daoist saw her like that and immediately scolded his disciple, ”Miaozhen! Don’t threaten my grand-disciple! She’s the ’one lone seedling’ in our sect’s eight hundred acres! If anything happens to her, our sect line would end, boohoohoo...”

The old Daoist sobbed as he spoke, tears streaming down, wiping them with the sleeve of his robe, which left two black marks on his face.

Lawrence Winters was completely subdued, hurriedly handed a box of tissues to the back seat, stuttering, ”Grand... Grandmaster, please don’t be sad... Master treats me very well! Really! He hasn’t threatened me!”

The old Daoist took the tissue box, pulled out a tissue to wipe his face, and immediately stopped crying, ”Really? He really didn’t threaten you?”

”No, no, absolutely not.” Lawrence Winters shook her head frantically, not daring to add any drama.

Her grandmaster’s drama addiction was getting out of hand, she couldn’t keep up anymore.

The old Daoist then suddenly shifted the focus to her, ”Then why did you look so wronged and bullied just now? Boldly tell Grandmaster, what’s going on? If your master secretly threatened you, I won’t let him off either!”

Lawrence Winters was almost breaking out in a sweat.

This grandmaster was really not easy to fool...

In a moment of desperation, a clever idea struck her, and she used the ”failsafe” tactic of shifting the focus, asking, ”Grandmaster, you haven’t come down the mountain for so many years, why did you come to the Capital City this year? Is there something urgent? I only took a day off to pick you up. If you have matters to attend to, I can take a few more days off to accompany you around Capital City!”

The old Daoist was momentarily caught off guard and fell for Lawrence Winters’ trap, his thoughts getting dragged away. After a while, he said, ”Alright, then take a week’s leave. I really do need to meet up with a friend, and you should come with me.”

Lawrence Winters: ”...”

So there really was something...

She quickly nodded, ”I’ll message my boss as soon as I get home, saying I need to take a week’s leave to accompany you!”

”Good girl.” The old Daoist complimented her with a smile, ”When tomorrow’s limit is reached, I’ll transfer fifty thousand to you.”

The maximum limit for a WeChat transfer in one day is fifty thousand.

Lawrence Winters was overjoyed, but she quickly waved her hand, saying, ”No need, no need, you should keep it for yourself. I have a job now, with a salary, I’m self-sufficient, no problem at all.”

Hearing this, Nick Zeller came over to add fuel to the fire, laughing as he said, ”By the way, Lawrence is already an adult now, with a job, earning a good salary. So? Shouldn’t you also honor your grandmaster?”

These words were like a knife, stabbing her in the heart.

But what Nick Zeller said was not wrong, a disciple honoring their master and grandmaster is just expected, isn’t it?

She forced a smile and said, ”Grandmaster, I’ll send you a red envelope!”

With that, she sent a 99.99 red envelope to the old Daoist.

The old Daoist opened it, seeing a big red envelope of 99.99, he was very happy and said, ”Good! I like the number nine! For us Celestial Path Sect people, nine is the largest number! I’ll accept this gift, Lawrence, you were thoughtful.”

Nick Zeller disdainfully glanced at Lawrence Winters but didn’t expose her.

The three of them chatted and laughed like this on the way back home.
