Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 261: Chapter 144: Full of Dog Food, Come Earlier Next Time

While on the subway, she finally had time to check her social media feed again.

She suddenly found that everyone was neatly commenting ”Today’s portion of dog food breakfast, delicious!” under that post.

Lawrence Winters even shared it on his own feed, captioning it: Boyfriends and husbands of others. Jealous.JPG.

Then Kenneth Osborne replied under Lawrence’s post: ...You’re still jealous?

Lawrence replied: ...Suddenly discovered this utility of boyfriends, foodies can’t resist.GIF.

Crazy Sister was greatly amused, replied under Lawrence’s post to Kenneth Osborne: Go Kenneth, I think your dawn is near! Lawrence Fortress is about to be conquered by you!

Kenneth Osborne still had the spare time to reply to her: Thanks for the encouragement, I’ll keep working on it. Smiling through MMP.JPG.

Crazy Sister laughed so hard she couldn’t close her mouth.

Upon arriving at the office, she opened WeChat again and found Joyce Shaw had also replied to her.

[Hubby]: Honey, was breakfast good? The pork wasn’t marinated long enough, and I used a pressure cooker for the white rice porridge, which would be better made in an earthenware pot.

Crazy Sister quickly replied to him: It was already very delicious, much better than mine! I’m not picky, easy to please...Shy smile.JPG.

Joyce Shaw saw the reply in the office and couldn’t help but smile.

Although he left early, he had just arrived at the office, almost at the same time as Crazy Sister.

This place is really too far from his apartment.

He had barely looked at his phone for a few minutes when he was called into Thomas’s office.

Joyce Shaw felt a bit nervous and stood there very reservedly after entering, smiling and asking, ”Mr. Stewart, hello, is there something you need me for?”

Thomas laughed and said, ”Call me Thomas, come, sit down.”

Joyce Shaw sat down in front of his desk.

Thomas picked up a document and flipped through it, smiling and asking, ”You’re a master’s student in the Computer Science Department at Yanda?”

”Yes.” Joyce Shaw nodded, slowly calming down, not as nervous.

”Who was your advisor at Yanda?”

Joyce Shaw mentioned his advisor’s name, and Thomas stroked his chin for a while, saying, ”Never heard of them.”

Joyce Shaw felt a bit awkward and said, ”He’s very famous domestically, but perhaps doesn’t publish much internationally, so you might not know him.”

”Is that so? Why doesn’t he publish internationally?” Thomas seemed very curious, ”Aren’t experts and scholars in your country proud to publish in international academic journals?”

Joyce Shaw pursed his lips and said, ”Some people might be, but people are different, some want to publish, some don’t, it’s all free choice.”

”Oh.” Thomas nodded, ”Makes sense.”

He then asked, ”What was your focus during your master’s studies?”

Joyce Shaw answered earnestly: ”My major focus is the application of artificial intelligence in mechanical manufacturing, simply put, it’s writing intelligent work programs for robots used in manufacturing.”

”Not bad, not bad! This direction is actually very practical, especially if applied correctly, saving time, ensuring the best quality, and completely eliminating human error!”

Thomas praised Joyce Shaw greatly and continued, ”I just finished reviewing a few projects you’ve done recently, excellent work! Completely exceeded my expectations!”

Joyce Shaw’s spirit was lifted.

Receiving praise from someone like Thomas Stewart, a big name in artificial intelligence, was truly a rare experience for him.

He instantly felt much more confident, his posture in speaking more relaxed, and gradually he was able to talk freely in front of Thomas.

”Thank you for your compliments, I’m also very glad to have this opportunity to work for you. I have many projects on hand, but with only myself, I fear I can’t maximize benefits just by myself, when is the company planning to recruit new staff? My tech department still consists of just me.”

Joyce Shaw proposed with a smile, hoping Thomas could prioritize recruitment.

Thomas laughed and said, ”I know, I know, you’re working overtime every day, sometimes even sleeping at the company, we all see it. I’ve already discussed with the finance director, starting next month, you’ll get a fifty percent pay increase, also, your commuting expenses will be reimbursed by the company.”

”Really?!” Joyce Shaw was both shocked and delighted, ”You’re really going to increase my salary by fifty percent?!”

Getting a fifty percent raise after only a month on the job, he instantly felt all those nights of overtime were worth it!

”What benefit would I have in deceiving you?” Thomas laughed, ”I’ve already emailed the finance director, you’ll soon receive an official email, next month your salary will increase by fifty percent.”

”There’s another matter, next month our company will be moving to an office building on the third ring of the Capital City as our headquarters, this place isn’t really our company’s turf, though it’s a branch of the parent company, it still has a layer separating us from Victory Wise.”

”I understand, simply put, they’re direct affiliates, we’re collateral branches.” Joyce Shaw humorously said.

”Right, that’s exactly the case!” Thomas laughed heartily, ”It’s so enjoyable talking with you. Keep up the good work!”

”Thank you, Thomas, I will.” Joyce Shaw returned to his office, a constant smile on his face, feeling extremely good.

He even immediately sent Crazy Sister a WeChat message.

[Hubby]: Crazy Sister, our company is moving to the city center, I won’t have to spend four hours driving every day anymore!

[Hubby]: Crazy Sister, one more thing, our Chief Technology Officer just told me that next month I’ll be getting a fifty percent pay raise! Once I get the raise next month, I’ll buy you a Chanel bag!

Crazy Sister didn’t see his WeChat message as she was working.

She was pleasantly surprised when she saw it during lunch and immediately called Joyce Shaw.

”Hubby, really? You’re really getting a raise next month, and buying me a Chanel bag?!”

Joyce Shaw nodded, ”Yes, of course, your hubby stands by his words.”

They exchanged a few more sweet words before hanging up.

Crazy Sister was so happy she couldn’t contain herself, she couldn’t help but posted another social media update.

”Hubby says he’s buying me a Chanel bag next month because he’ll get a fifty percent pay raise next month! Delighted.JPG.”

Once this post was shared, everyone sighed dramatically once more.

”Crazy Sister, you’re serving us dog food three times a day! — Saved today’s lunch, already full on dog food, better luck next time.”
