Daddy Always Gets Jealous

Huo Qichang’s hand on the steering wheel trembled violently, and he soon saw the black Bentley driving toward him.

The car door opened, and Che Huan led the little one into the car while Huo Jinxue followed in.

Even as the black Bentley disappeared from sight, Huo Qichang still sat there stupefied, wondering if, this time, not only Anan but also Axue and Abei would never forgive him.

The relationship with Anan, which had thawed slightly over the years, had once again reached a freezing point!

Yet, on his deathbed, his older brother had entrusted Ayun and her son to him, and even—

All he could do was his very best to take care of them both!

...

Sitting in the car, the little one glanced back and muttered, ”What’s he here for?”

No one responded.

The little one pursed his lips and looked at Che Huan, thinking about how he had finally gotten to sleep with Huanhuan instead of Huo Jinnan last night, feeling absolutely delighted!

Glancing at Huo Jinnan’s direction in the driver’s seat, he thought, hmph, from now on, I’ll hog Huanhuan every night, see if you dare compete with me for Huanhuan! Just let that stupid platoon leader keep you company!

Thinking of the platoon leader, he suddenly felt they truly made a good match for Huo Jinnan, one dark and brooding, the other cold as ice.

Huo Jinnan swept a glance at the little one through the rearview mirror.

The little one quickly shifted his gaze, patting his chest. Huo Jinnan shouldn’t know what he was just thinking, right?

After buying breakfast and returning, Huo Qichang’s car was still at the entrance.

Huo Jinnan parked the car, walked over to the back door, opened it, and as the little one got out, he lifted him to the side and wrapped an arm around Che Huan’s waist.

With Huo Jinxue and the little one there, alongside his father, Che Huan’s face turned red, and he looked at Huo Jinnan, unsure how to speak out.

Huo Jinnan glanced down at Che Huan and, with his vacant arm, picked up the little one, turning to Huo Jinxue, ”Bring the breakfast.”

Huo Jinxue glanced at them, and although she had said she wouldn’t freeload, was her second brother really treating her like a little maid? Left arm wife, right arm son, did that make her the Filipino maid?

This dog food was bittersweet to swallow!

Was he picking on her for not having a man or son of her own?

Lost in thought, she heard Huo Qichang’s voice.

”Anan, I just want to see your mom, just one glance, and if she’s alright, I’ll leave.”

Huo Qichang hurried out of his car, rushing after them, fearing that if they went inside, he’d be kept out again.

Huo Jinnan stopped walking, turned back to look at Huo Qichang, his gaze frosty, ”No need to look, she’s fine, already out of danger.”

”Ah... ”

Just as Huo Qichang began to speak, Huo Jinxue looked at him and cut him off, ”Chief Huo finally remembers his wife now? Isn’t it a bit too early?”

Stricken with guilt, Huo Qichang said, ”Axue, your grandfather yesterday...”

Huo Jinxue, recalling the indignities she had suffered at the hands of Gu Yunqing and his child over the years, snorted, ”My grandfather has always been like that, with his hypertension and all, especially whenever Gu Jizhou’s matters come up, yet never actually falling ill. Yet when it comes to my mother, I’m not sure you’re as concerned. Those unaware might think my older sister is your wife and Gu Jizhou your son!”

At these words, Huo Qichang’s expression darkened sharply, ”Axue!”

Huo Jinxue took Che Huan’s arm, ”Let’s go, sister-in-law; you’ve got a mother-in-law now, that’ll do. This father-in-law of ours is too biased.”

...

Che Huan didn’t speak, biting her lip, wondering just how much Huo Qichang had favored Gu Jizhou and his mother over the years to make his own daughter so resentful!

With that thought, she couldn’t sympathize with him. She only felt sorry for Huo Jinnan.

As she looked sideways at Huo Jinnan, she suddenly noticed the Gu Family’s car, and her expression changed slightly.
