Daddy Always Gets Jealous

Huo Qichang looked up at Gu Jizhou and knew that he must have caused trouble again.

But right now, all he could think about was Xiaoqin, and he had no interest in paying attention to Gu Jizhou. Standing up, he grabbed a piece of clothing and quickly left the sickroom.

Watching Huo Qichang leave, the old master casually picked up the ashtray from beside him and hurled it straight at Gu Jizhou’s head.

Gu Jizhou stood there, not yet registering what had happened, when a warmth spread on his forehead, and blood began to trickle down.

Huo Jinyun had just entered the room and saw this scene. She stood there, not daring to breathe loudly. She glanced at her grandfather’s face and then at Gu Jizhou, who had just woken up from a car accident not long ago, worried whether this might cause a concussion?

Her heart ached, but she dared not speak out.

The old master glanced at Huo Jinyun as she entered, then turned to Gu Jizhou, ”You even dared to lay hands on Xiaowei, is there anything you wouldn’t do?”

Gu Jizhou hung his head, staring at the floor, and said nothing.

Huo Jinyun felt a chill in her chest upon hearing this. So, did it mean that Grandfather had already found concrete evidence? She feared that Anan must have enough evidence by now!

At this moment, she could not defend Jizhou.

With that thought, she walked over to Gu Jizhou, looked at him, and with a heavy heart, slapped him across the face, ”Is everything your great-grandfather said true?”

Gu Jizhou remained silent.

Huo Jinyun was so anxious inside. If only he would offer some explanation, any at all; why wouldn’t he say anything? ”How have I always talked to you? Xiaowei is your cousin, how could you do anything!”

The old master looked at Huo Jinyun, as if crying and laughing with exasperation, knowing well the extent of Ayun’s temperament, wasn’t he?

What’s more, he was Che Huan’s son, and Che Huan was Wen Ru’s daughter!

”Enough with the act, I don’t care how Anan handles this situation. Even if he ends up in jail, he will be getting what he deserves!”

At these words, Huo Jinyun’s face turned deathly pale!

If Grandfather wouldn’t intervene, considering the unresolved issues from the past combined with the new troubles stirred up by Gu Yunqing, Anan would likely not let things slide easily.

What should she do?

In fact, Jizhou had his reasons for his actions, all because of Che Huan.

Even she had not anticipated that the normally aloof Anan could do something like taking away someone else’s wife, and that someone was his own nephew’s wife no less!

Yet she couldn’t mention Che Huan and Jizhou’s affair to Grandfather.

If Grandfather discovered that Jizhou and Che Huan had been secretly married for five years and then this incident of taking away the child came to light, he would probably be thoroughly disheartened and wash his hands of Jizhou for good!

Thinking of this, she turned to the old master, ”Grandfather, about Jizhou this time—”

The old master lay there, gasping for breath, glaring at Gu Jizhou upon seeing the bloody forehead, and interrupted Huo Jinyun, ”Aren’t you going to find a doctor to treat that? It looks frightful!”

Relieved at this, Huo Jinyun quickly took Gu Jizhou to get bandaged up.

When she returned to the old master’s sickroom, Uncle Guan stood at the door, ”The old master said for Miss and the young master to go back first.”

Huo Jinyun, with a forced smile, looked at Uncle Guan, ”Did Grandfather say anything else?”

Uncle Guan knew what Miss was thinking, ”The old master didn’t say anything else.”

On hearing this, a look of disappointment crossed Huo Jinyun’s face, ”Uncle Guan, please take good care of my grandfather, and remember to call me if anything happens, I’ll come at once.”

”Certainly, Miss, take care.”

Uncle Guan watched Huo Jinyun and Gu Jizhou leave, then entered the sickroom and reported to the old master, ”Miss and the young master have left.”

The old master remained silent.

Uncle Guan stood aside, hearing no orders for a while, and confusion grew in his heart. Could it be that the old master was truly washing his hands of this?
