Chapter 1542: Chapter 9 Volume 39: God or Devil (Part 2)

At 10 p.m., O’Neill led his regiment to completely defeat the 2122 Division and launched a probing attack on the Suss Army Group’s temporary defense line to the northeast.

At 10:25 p.m., the regiment’s Sharp Blade Company maneuvered to the Suss assault position four kilometers northeast of Maple Slope, cutting off its main force from the front line and destroying most of the assault position.

With the earth-shattering explosion of the rear armory, the already precarious Suss temporary defense line instantly crumbled.

Seizing the opportunity, O’Neill led his troops to advance directly and launched an attack deep into the enemy’s position.

At 10:45 p.m., the regiment occupied a hill six kilometers northeast of Maple Slope, squeezing the 2nd Regiment of the 21st Army Group’s 2111 Division, the 3rd Group, and a regiment of the 2112 Division into a narrow strip two kilometers wide and twelve kilometers long.

At 10:50 p.m., the 2nd and 3rd Groups of the Bandit Army’s First Armored Division attacked from the northeast, and after successively defeating two battalions of the Suss 2111 Division’s 2nd Regiment and the 2112 Division’s 3rd Regiment, they completed the segmentation of the Suss 21st Army Group’s forward forces.

At 11:20 p.m., O’Neill’s troops met with Rashid’s Bandit Army’s First Armored Division.

At 11:30 p.m., a hill nine kilometers northeast of Maple Slope was captured, and hundreds of soldiers in black uniforms different from ordinary soldiers, operating Advanced Mecha, along with three Command Mechas, announced their surrender in desperation.

At 11:40 p.m., the process of identifying the prisoners was completed, and the commander of the 21st Army Group, Peterlov, along with the main generals below, were captured.

At 1 a.m., the battle clean-up operation was completed.

As squads of surrendering Suss soldiers, with their hands raised, trudged through the muddy terrain beneath the muzzles of the Bandit Army Mechas, entering the temporary Prisoner of War Camp.

As Peterlov, trying to maintain a noble posture, stumbled into Rashid’s Command Mecha under the rude shoves of the bandit soldiers.

Five kilometers northwest of Maple Slope, the main force of the Bandit Army had already marched grandly past 49 Peak, advancing into the Sunset Mountain Basin.

”Clang”

The exquisite, luxurious wine glass fell onto the hard floor of the Command Mecha, shattering to pieces. The flying glass fragments, under the light, reflected a chaotic glow, like an ice flower in full bloom.

Bellif slowly lowered his head, gazing at the splattered crimson wine droplets on his shiny black Lemaire buffalo leather boots with disbelief.

In that moment, time seemed to freeze.

In the spacious, bright cabin, there was dead silence. The sharply dressed officers stood quietly on the side, like stone sculptures gazed upon by Medusa.

The light from the SkyNet screen flickered, like the light at the bottom of a swimming pool at night, gently undulating across the faces and bodies of everyone as the water rippled.

Yet, this dream-like glow brought not romance, but a shivering, bone-chilling cold.

The Frenso Town warzone’s seven armored divisions and one hundred Judger Mechas had been completely destroyed, the Six Major Battlezones had been breached by the enemy in one strike, and Fei Alliance troops exceeding ten divisions had crossed 49 Peak, sweeping through the Sunset Mountain Basin. Xiushui River Town was in urgent danger, Seven-star Town was in urgent danger........

A campaign plan carefully devised over two months, with hundreds of staff working diligently, mobilizing nearly a hundred division’s worth of forces, consuming a massive amount of funds and material support, ultimately ended up........

Bellif gritted his teeth hard. He simply could not believe all of this was real.

Even though, a few hours ago, he had received a report from the communications team he dispatched to the Jiepeng 25th Army Group’s defense zone, he hadn’t taken it to heart.

To him, it was just a clever trick played by the Fei Alliance.

These cunning Fei Alliance People clearly understood that with their stretched thin forces, they simply couldn’t break the crisis at Sunset Mountain.

Their main forces had already been pinned down by the Su Jie Alliance Army attacking Frenso Town; at Sunset Mountain, they only had three or four armored divisions left defending that low hill.

That was their last bit of strength at Sunset Mountain, which could do nothing more than buy them a little more time to delay the inevitable.

So, they orchestrated this show.

They used the recently arrived Bandit Army at Resk as a mobile force, concentrating power to break through Billy Town, then turned north, feigning a flanking maneuver with their main force toward Sunset Mountain, attempting to use the threat of encirclement to force the Su Jie Alliance Army attacking Sunset Mountain to retreat voluntarily.

Once the Su Jie Alliance Army fell for the trap and retreated, they could buy more time, then begin an approach of concentrated breakthroughs to first stabilize the Frenso Battlefield, then return reinforcements to Sunset Mountain.

After all, they still had a total of twenty reserve armored divisions in their hands. These forces were useless if separated, but if gathered and given enough time, they could find a slim chance of survival.

It must be like this!

When Bellif received the news that the Jiepeng 25th Army Group was attacked, after only half an hour of studying the electronic map, he made this judgment.

He firmly believed that the Fei Alliance Joint Army, whose forces he believed he had already calculated to the extreme, could not possess the capability to eradicate the seven armored divisions of Frenso Town in twenty hours and cross the Six Major Battlezones.

It was just one of their tricks.

Perhaps, just as the communications team left the Jiepeng 25th Army Group, their so-called ”major force” flanking north had already retreated.

Even if they wanted to make it more convincing, they couldn’t possibly break through the dual interception of the Jiepeng 25th Army Group and the Suss 21st Army Group!
