Counterfeit Hero

Chapter 1508: Chapter 28: Blitzkrieg (11)

A gust of wind blew across the position, lifting a sky full of dust and sand.

The position, which had been blown to pieces by thirteen consecutive strong attacks, had been repaired during a few hours of ceasefire.

Ranks of brand-new bulletproof walls were embedded into the soil by Engineering Mecha, filled with soil fortifying agents. The explosion-proof shed and concealed holes in the trenches were reinforced again. The energy shields for the shooting positions, heavy firepower positions, ammunition storage holes, and position electronic interference devices were all repaired and replaced. The traffic trenches extending backward and the reserve force assembly zone became more orderly and spacious under the efforts of the Engineering Camp.

At this moment, the soldiers at Position 152 were each in their place, fully prepared for battle.

Looking west from the nearly two-meter-high mountain peak, the wind howled, and dust soared into the air. The distant treetops of the jungle surged like the vast tide of the sea.

The endless plain in the distance was filled with rolling mountains. Between the mountain positions, tens of thousands of Western Alliance Mecha stood solemnly, their shiny shells reflecting the sunlight, resembling a burning forest of steel.

Without any noise or chaos, the positions on the mountain, and the steel forest below, confronted each other in silence, only the thunderous sounds of artillery from other positions to the south and north rolled incessantly in this static picture-like scene, like muffled thunder outside the painting.

The atmosphere had already reached the extreme tension.

A few hours of ceasefire did not make the soldiers on either side complacent. On the contrary, everyone understood that the other side had accumulated greater power, ready to fight to the death.

At this moment, they are only waiting for a command, and the already prepared self-propelled artillery and missiles will bombard the locked coordinates, while the also-prepared Mecha clusters and position defenses will, in that earth-shattering collision, unleash a bloody rain.

Life or death!

In the ancient cold weapon era, the forces held shields and spears, riding horses for fierce combat, fighting at close quarters. Later, as firearms and artillery developed, it became easy to destroy cities and conquer nations from thousands of miles away, fighting beyond visual range.

With the development of energy technology and the widespread use of energy shields, modern warfare, after repeated seesaw battles between spears and shields, has eventually evolved back with armored units returning to close-range combat.

War, from the ancient cold weapon era to the present, under Sunset Mountain, seems to have gone through a cycle. However, this time it is no longer swords, axes, and armor, but steel wonders. The scope of battle impacting extends beyond the chaos of men and horses to earth-shattering, heaven-crumbling cataclysms.

The Black Judger was walking slowly within this static image. Behind him were one hundred seventy similar Judgers, followed by the Su Jie Armored Group, like a tidal wave sweeping across the horizon, stretching out of sight.

Thirty Black Mecha were drawing closer.

”We turned behind your position for a long time, when we went, there were fifty Mecha, when we returned, there are still fifty Mecha.”

A hoarse and icy voice accompanied the march of the Black Mecha, collided with the position with the wind, and then ascended to the sky, echoing amidst the gunfire.

As the pupils of the Fei Alliance Soldiers contracted in anger, thirty Judgers in a Triangle Attack Formation stopped less than a kilometer away from the position. The leading Mecha raised its hand, the Mecha’s forefinger casually gestured towards the position.

”Did you not want revenge for those dead in the hospital? Now here’s your chance.”

He withdrew his forefinger, transformed his fist into a palm, dragging it across his neck fiercely, making a gesture common to Imperial Nobles.

Duel!

With a loud bang, the entire position was like an exploded ammunition dump, shouting and cursing erupted.

No one expected this, as the great battle was on the brink, the enemy stretched out their army without firing, pulling such a tactic!

Alongside the cursing, the Fei Alliance soldiers instinctively turned their heads to look. At the highest point in the center of the position, hundreds of green Bandit Army Mecha were watching the base of the mountain coldly with folded arms.

Everyone knew that the duel declaration of the Judger was aimed at the Bandit Army!

A few hours earlier, the thrilling Special Operations that frightened the Su Jie Special Forces had reached their ears, and even when their army approached, the battlefield information control around the flanks was still in the hands of the Fei Alliance Special Forces.

At this moment, as their troops gathered downhill from Position 152, posing a strong front, behind them, on their flanks, Fei Alliance Armored Forces were leveraging their information advantage to launch attacks.

Thirteen strong assaults that suffered setbacks and forced a ceasefire for adjustment, followed by a crushing defeat in special operations, with dozens of logistical bases and supply warehouses set ablaze, dozens of regimental command posts being dismantled, and even the entire command level of the 113th Division eliminated.

All this had already gravely affected their morale.

This was certainly the failure of the Su Jie Alliance Army, but it was also a blunt slap to the arrogant Judgers who cruelly manufactured massacres and escalated battles!

Such disgrace, proud Judgers would naturally be determined to reclaim!

And the best way to vent this anger and boost morale was to kill anyone daring to battle with absolute force under Position 152, making the victory just achieved by the Fei Alliance Special Forces flash like colorful bubbles in the light, only to suddenly burst.

All eyes focused on the hundreds of Bandit Army Mecha.

To resist the Judger, the Bandit Army Special Forces Camp had been deployed at the forefront of Position 152. Their task was to block the Judger tightly, preventing this Black Mecha from piercing the position.
