Beneath the Red Dragon

So the natural wind began to flow, and as it blew, the bones and bodies of the giant beasts instantly turned to flying ashes, drifting about in the wind.

Many others aim to learn magic and consider mastering the Nine-Ring Magic as their ultimate goal.

But in Karon’s eyes, learning and mastering these powerful magics is merely a step on his personal ladder to ascend, a means to achieve his purpose.

It is the underlying rules that create these magics and the effects they can trigger that are the true focus of Karon’s research.

Mortals categorize magic into various schools like Shaping, Undead, and Elemental, but for Karon, all magic belongs to one school—Learnable.

Mortals’ lifespan and talent cannot support pursuing too much within their limited lifetime.

But Karon now possesses an endless life and is on a path of endless learning.

Ordinary dragons fear the Ancient Dragon transformation stage, but in front of an Ancestral Red Dragon, it’s not a difficult hurdle. As long as Karon doesn’t succumb prematurely, he is destined to survive for infinite ages.

A long lifespan and extraordinary talent make all magic seem like knowledge to explore for him. Specializing in one area can achieve great success, but ultimately it’s not as high as climbing all mountains.

Karon’s enormous body lay down, placing his thick tail under his jaw. The tail tip covered in fine dragon scales instinctively reached between his fangs, biting like a grinding bar.

Legendary Demon Sakres’s approach gave Karon some inspiration, leading him to ponder if there exists a rule that can encompass all laws in the world.

The divine spirits of the Star Realm Divine Kingdom wield the laws corresponding to their divine positions, granting them such powerful abilities, almost eternally immortal.

In Karon’s memory, these laws are also known as Dao.

And does there exist a Great Dao and laws in the world that can encompass all laws, where possessing it equals possessing all abilities?

Karon is yet to know, but the reason he has not crossed into legend and instead focuses on the path of being a dragon is to better construct his own law system, to carry his seemingly fanciful idea.

In Karon’s view, even the abilities of a Legendary Dragon Species are just one of countless worldly laws, abilities he can gradually acquire by spending time learning from mastered knowledge.

Just like the knowledge left by the Magic Empire—the Neutron Star Golem, which includes knowledge on using strong interaction forces. Yet, limited by materials, Karon can’t attempt to create such a powerful golem now.

Of course, with Karon’s current capabilities, he cannot actively gather such materials either.

”Hiss, it didn’t hurt during the fight, but now this minor injury is so hard to endure,”

Karon hissed as he gradually got caught in his thoughts, subconsciously biting through the scales on his tail.

Proving that his teeth were sharper than his scales’ defense.

”Forget it, meals are eaten one bite at a time, roads flown one wing at a time, the journey of learning and exploration is endless. I’m already frighteningly strong now,”

”Perhaps I too will, like that Legendary Demon, proceed and explore through a collective path, until I achieve my goal,”

Karon thought proudly, licking his tail tip and instinctively using the childhood behavior of healing with dragon saliva to bind his wound.

However, the light bands condensed from magic runes on his body automatically released a spell to heal the wound, making Karon’s tongue get stuck on his delicate scales.

”Hiss,”

Karon instantly furrowed the fine scales between his brows. Outsiders find it hard to harm him, yet he can easily hurt himself. His power doesn’t hinder his actions.

The edges of the Red Dragon’s scales are heavy yet carry a metallic sharpness, causing Karon’s sensitive tongue to touch the scale’s edge.

Karon smacked his jaws, shaking his enormous head, looking toward the World Tree’s main root, rooted in the earth and growing from the distant plains.

The World Tree’s main root grows like a thick tree in this world, with some fine root tendrils exposed above the ground, already beginning to form small woods resembling willows and banyans.

The Imperial Legion is building a camp under the World Tree’s roots, establishing links with the Imperial Headquarters to Aikania World via the Space-Time Beacon for future travel.

In connecting with planes, the Space-Time Beacon is a crucial component.

Some plane time flows aren’t synchronized with that of Aikania World. Without the calibration and guiding protection of the Space-Time Beacon, returning from Aikania to this world next time might be a thousand years later.

That’s also why, after Black Dragon Rosani led the Imperial Legion to descend, the Space-Time Beacon was discarded and lost, thus preventing the Empire from promptly reaching this world.

”It seems like waiting for Owo to completely root in this world, taking advantage of Owo to analyze the deep-level rules of this world still requires some time,”

Karon lowered his head again, resting it on his tail, then immersed his mind into his body.

The Evil Dragon Blood flowing within the Red Dragon’s body, but in Karon’s body, that Evil Dragon Blood’s Flame has almost condensed into fire’s patterns, like the external manifestation of Flame Law, rushing through Karon’s veins.
