Beneath the Red Dragon

Stilgar’s words had an effect. As the former chief of the Northern Tribe, he instantly stirred the fighting spirit of the Golden Lion Corps warriors, and together with Stilgar, they boarded the small interstellar spaceships, awaiting orders.

”These damn mongrels, this should have been the Imperial garden, the Imperial resources.”

The young High Tier Mage Sakro raised his magic staff. As the highest leader of the Caster Corps, though not as strong as the Holy Sanctuary Grandmaster Lapus, he commanded all the casters, possessing a high status and power.

”Attention, all mages. Gather for spellcasting, sweep the demons!”

With the permission of the Ancestral Red Dragon, Sakro began to allocate command authority.

The commander of the Low Tier Mages raised his magic staff and shouted loudly, ”Prepare to cast—Scorching Beam!”

Eight hundred mages of the Caster Corps simultaneously raised their magic staves. Under sensory spellcasting, the spell models intertwined rapidly, drawing a vast amount of magic power.

Two thousand four hundred beams of flame, centered on the Floating Island, swept across like laser cuts in all directions.

Dense beams of flames, two thousand four hundred in number, coordinated with each other, covering every inch of space. Under the calculative spellcasting of the casters, not a single demon could escape this fiery net.

One after another, low-tier demons screamed as the fiery beams swept over them, falling like rain. The demons, burning with flame, emitted black smoke, rising in billows, obscuring all visibility of the Floating Island.

The commander of the Mid-tier Mages raised his magic staff and shouted loudly, ”Everyone, prepare to cast—Wall of Flame!”

One hundred and twenty mid-tier mages raised their amplification staffs, crafted from the branches of the Tree of Life, and began to chant spells, outlining spell models.

Walls of blazing flames, twenty meters long, six meters wide, and half a meter thick, began to manifest around every side of the Floating Island and above it.

Magic surged, and the walls of flame densely filled the sky, forming a gigantic flaming dome, pushing outward from the center of the Floating Island.

The mid-tier mages freed their spirits, letting the walls of flame ignite the billowing black smoke and the demons swarming back, instantly clearing the view range originally shrouded by demons on the Floating Island.

Only mid-tier demons could endure this round of magical assault and survive, but they also howled and retreated into the distance.

High-tier demons, acting as commanders of the Demon Corps, still observed from afar.

These high-tier demons all possessed the strength to confront and kill ordinary young dragons, and being somewhat smarter, they did not rashly join the battlefield.

High-tier demons like the Judgement Demon and Frenzy Demon had enough strength to confront ordinary young dragons.

Some strong demon races, like the Balrog Flame Demon and the Six-armed Snake Demon, grew to possess the strength to fight against old dragons and very old dragons.

Though such demons could not become Demon Lords, they could become Little Lords, equivalent to the peak of the Saint Tier in human power systems.

Demons achieving legend status could dominate certain planes, becoming Demon Lords, possessing the strength to oppose ordinary Ancient Dragons and Dragon Witch Demons.

Even more powerful Demon Lords had a vast span of strength—outstanding Demon Lords could contend with Time Dragons and Divine Sealing Dragons, such as Pazuza and Demogorgan in the Abyss.

Theoretically, these high-tier demons also had the potential to grow into strong Demon Lords; thus, although they were affected by chaos like most demons, they were never ignorant.

Though the aura of other dragons was strong enough, these demons did not regard it seriously.

Yet, the natural presence of the Ancestral Red Dragon’s aura, not yet even unleashed, was as majestic and formidable as a Demon Lord in the perception of over a dozen high-tier demons, making them unwilling to rashly advance to attack the Floating Island.

Instead, they utilized endless low-tier demons, manipulating these easily mind-controlled chaotic demon pawns to deplete the Floating Island’s strength, waiting for an opportunity to strike.

Moreover, in the presence of a mage legion of this scale, even if high-tier demons rashly charged forward, they would undoubtedly die amidst these torrents of spells.

The casters were currently clearing the field with legion warfare habits, so some mid-tier demons managed to survive under the spell bombardments. If they concentrated their strength, not to mention mid-tier demons, even ordinary Little Demon Lords could not withstand the mage legion’s bombardment.

Especially the sixteen High Tier Mages on the Floating Island, who did not need to master legion-level common spells as mid-tier and low-tier mages did, had considerable autonomy on the battlefield.

A High Tier Mage used the amplification effect of a magic staff made from the Tree of Life, using a fist-sized amber as the material for amplified spellcasting, chanting a spell to summon chain lightning.

A blazing lightning bolt shot out, passing directly through a demon’s body, melting the demon’s internal organs with a sheep’s head and bat wings.

And yet, the blazing electrical light did not dissipate after destroying this demon; instead, it burst again from this demon’s body, transforming into three thinner lightning bolts, leaping toward nearby demons, striking down three other unprepared demons.

Another High Tier Mage wielded a magic staff, expending a large magnetic stone, shooting out a thin green beam that rushed toward a demon wielding a double-headed halberd forged with Abyssal Iron Ore.

This middle-level demon, hiding among the low-level demons, had not realized that it had been targeted by a High Tier Mage, failing to dodge the thin green beam in time, its lizard-like body and weapon dissolved by the mage’s Dissociation Skill into a cloud of dust.

Demons that escaped the caster corps’ sweeping spell flood began to be singled out and killed by High Tier Mages on the Floating Island.

A dazzling beam shot from the island, forming a line-shaped area two meters wide and twenty meters long, plunging all demons within into blindness, causing them to fall. This was the Solar Flare Beam.

A Thorny Wall capable of piercing demon’s tough bodies also swept across the sky, its deadly thorns dragging along low-tier demons.

Advanced mages also released Delayed Burst Fireballs, floating in the sky, scaring groups of demons into scattering in all directions.

However, this fireball caused no damage, leading the demons’ chaotic minds to forget the danger and regroup.

But at the moment the Delayed Burst Fireball’s effect ended, its power reached its peak.

The cunning mage smirked as he catalyzed his spell, and the exploding fireball burst in the air, sweeping hundreds of meters of demons clean.

When the mage legion cleared wave after wave of demons from the skies, killing them so that they no longer dared to approach and attack, several Giant Dragon Lords spread their wings, bursting through the magic barrier of the Floating Island.

”Attack, attack, kill those who dare to desecrate the might of the great dragons, destroy them!”

The dragon’s Golden Lion Corps began to roar, piloting small interstellar spaceships to ascend into the sky, joining the war alongside the dragons they served.
