Armed Train in the Apocalypse

Chapter 345: Chapter 238: White Ticket

”214, 215...”

The mongoose was vertically attached to the wall, her feet hanging in the air. She relied solely on her hands stuck to the wall, her legs straining to lift backwards like a handstand. But no matter how she fidgeted, her body wouldn’t fall from the vertical wall.

Seeing the train about to dock, the mongoose glanced at the gloomy sky outside the window and flipped down from the wall.

Due to her mutation evolution leaning towards feline traits, her body also possessed some cat-like characteristics.

But the mongoose wasn’t as exaggerated as Qi Jian Country.

Her most notable feature was her eyes, capable of dynamic vision, low-light vision...

These eyes alone gave her many advantages.

In addition, her nails became harder, with a certain retractable ability.

Not as exaggerated as Wolverine, only about two centimeters, sharp and difficult to wear down, growing particularly fast.

Her palms and skin also became very soft, able to climb particularly smooth walls like a gecko.

And these effects, which greatly enhanced combat abilities, were merely provided by a ”Beastification” skill.

The mongoose currently had two skills, Level 2 ”Combat Factor” and Level 1 ”Beastification.”

Relying on just these two passive-like skills, she could go toe-to-toe with many elite soldiers who hadn’t reached Tier One.

If firearms were removed from the equation, her victory rate could reach fifty percent.

In outdoor environments, it could even reach seventy percent.

Therefore, in the Armed Corps, the mongoose’s status was second only to those officers.

But the mongoose kept pushing herself harder, because her target was never her peers in the reserves, but He Jie!

She took off her sweat-soaked vest, quickly rinsed off, donned her gear, and everything was done in just three minutes.

After all, He Jie paid special attention to her.

That killer didn’t care how much longer women took to tidy up than men. If a task took male soldiers ten seconds, then female soldiers had to do it in ten seconds; the mongoose had to do it in nine seconds to avoid being scolded, and in eight seconds to avoid sarcastic remarks.

The equipment mainly included bulletproof vests, tactical boots, etc. The only offensive weapon was a pistol.

Main battle rifles, including heavy weapons, were all in the armory and only issued during combat missions.

As for the pistol, it seemed almost like a ceremonial weapon for the current train.

They stopped confiscating them long ago.

Tying up her ponytail in front of the mirror, the mongoose stepped out to the armed hall.

Over two thousand survivors were assigned to their Armed Corps.

Everyone had to manage a portion of them during this time, and once they landed, it would be fine.

Just then, the door in front opened, and a stocky man walked out, wearing the combat group’s casual uniform, a satisfied smile on his face.

”Not bad, next time I get some free time, you can give it another go.”

The woman following him looked uncomfortable, pursing her lips and shoving the man with her hand.

The mongoose was momentarily stunned. There was a household of survivors from the Iron Mountain Shelter here, with six women in total. When did they gain a man?

Smelling a faint stench from the pair, the mongoose frowned.

”What are you doing?”

Hearing the mongoose’s cold question, both people raised their heads simultaneously.

The man’s lewd smile faded a bit upon seeing the mongoose, then covertly scanned the mongoose up and down with his eyes.

Without any intention of greeting her, he walked directly to his room.

Leaving the woman standing there, her face pale and eyes full of fear, uncertain on how to explain.

Seeing her in this state, the mongoose instantly grasped what was going on.

Such things were common on the train.

If it was another colleague, the mongoose might have sneered inwardly and turned away.

But these were survivors from the Iron Mountain Shelter she was responsible for, and their expressions indicated something was amiss.

The mongoose was not one to let sand into her eyes.

Without thinking, she called out to the departing man.

”Stop!”

The man’s steps paused, he turned in place, pointing to his nose in surprise, ”Are you talking to me?”

The mongoose’s signature beast eyes gradually narrowed.

”Are you with the combat group?”

The man laughed dismissively, ”Is that any of your business?”

By then, the train had come to a complete stop. Survivors were disembarking, soldiers gathering in the armed hall to maintain order.

Their argument immediately drew the attention of others.

Seeing it was the mongoose, soldiers gathered around.

”Sister Cat, what’s going on?”

The mongoose ignored her colleague’s greeting, continuing to ask, ”I’m asking what you were doing.”

By then, more people were gathering.

The man, uncomfortable under the focused attention, twisted his neck and saw combat group colleagues approaching from afar. Only then did he feel slightly reassured, lowering his voice to say, ”Don’t make trouble.”

The mongoose stepped forward, her beast eyes locked onto him, ”I’m asking what you were doing?”

Facing such questioning in front of so many, the man’s face turned a bit unsightly.

On the train, it was perhaps hard to rank the four groups, but one thing was common knowledge: the Armed Corps was definitely at the bottom.

It wasn’t about the train’s treatment, but the shallow roots on the train.

Besides senior officers, ordinary reserves were just survivors who’d come in halfway, having only received a few days of real military training.

Whereas the combat group consisted of genuine retired soldiers.

Even in the Steel Council, they received the most professional military training and participated in numerous battles since doomsday.

It was no exaggeration to call them elite warriors.

In the past, when the Armed Corps trained, the combat group was even brought in as instructors.

Though the man hadn’t dealt directly with the mongoose, he was technically like her semi-supervisor.
