Armed Train in the Apocalypse

Chapter 312: Chapter 223: Are You Praying?

Mr. Shu’s gaze turned somber; the outcome of the battle at Wangjiang Peak hadn’t been relayed back.

But the people from Deep Blue Data had already slunk back in embarrassment.

The result was foreseeable.

However, since he had sent a Tier Two Evolver, even if things didn’t go well, they could still ensure Shu Wei’s safe retreat.

At this stage, as long as a Tier Two Evolver doesn’t act recklessly, nothing can kill them.

”She’ll come back once she’s had enough fun. Right now, we’re discussing the armed train.”

”At present, several major districts nearby should all be aware that two Genetic Primordials are heading north, bringing along a fruit-bearing mutated plant that can enhance vitality.”

”And knowing they’re a tough nut to crack, why not try to make contact first, like through a deal, instead of resorting to force?”

The woman carelessly picked at her fingernails, speaking softly with tender words from her red lips.

”Wait a second!”

The blank-eyed Number One suddenly raised a hand, interrupting the others.

His unfocused pupils slowly aligned on the woman, ”Number Two, repeat what you just said.”

The woman, speechless, said, ”You didn’t hear a word from what Number Three just said, did you?”

”Just now, 85% of my brain was engaged in experimental deductions, with the remaining 5% allocated for computational buffering, I wasn’t processing your conversation.”

”You ought to get rid of that last 10% sooner.”

Number One replied indifferently, ”Mocking me is pointless; I lack the organ for anger. Repeat your information.”

The woman sighed; just because she’s lived a bit longer, why should she suffer working alongside these oddities?

”Two Genetic Primordials, one fruit tree capable of life extension.”

Number One turned to Mr. Shu, coldly stating, ”You have the highest authority, acquire them.”

Number One’s words were like a final verdict.

The brief meeting came to an abrupt end.

Watching the now-empty conference room, Mr. Shu rubbed his somewhat stiff cheeks.

Although they were all from the same company, there was no trust to speak of.

Initially, there were over a hundred shareholders in this conference room.

In just three months, only five remained.

Acquiring the highest authority was a pleasant surprise, but how to manage the armed train next was crucial.

Mr. Shu had reached a vague decision in his heart.

...

Guan Chong City, large generator production plant.

The armed train, like a segmented metallic dragon, encircled the 100,000㎡ factory, its metal armor scraping debris from the building’s edges, eventually wedging itself firmly in place.

The stationed soldiers and combat units were clearing external threats, protecting survivors near the water.

Inside the generator plant, the remaining light was blocked by the train.

The interior was dim and gloomy, water droplets coalesced on the ceiling, shaken loose by gunfire and roars, falling into the flooded void in the center.

Firepower Hand was setting up defenses along the edge of the void, furiously discharging firepower downstairs to support teammates.

Grotesque, horrifying corpses piled up on both sides of the eight-meter-wide corridor.

Oppressive, dark, it sent chills down one’s spine.

In this atmosphere, a young man with his hands in his pockets walked from the end, wearing a sunny student-like smile, curiously surveying the bloody scene around him.

Behind him, apart from the secretary and bodyguards, followed the factory director, Vice President Deng, Professor Ma, and a slew of researchers.

”Choosing this generator plant, for one, was based on the assumption the vehicle needed an engine. Additionally, a massive platform was required to support it; this factory had three levels above water. Once we’re done, we’ll simply blow up the lower factory, and the vehicle can smoothly enter the water.”

Vice President Deng elaborated while waving the blueprint in his hand.

Su Huan walked to the edge, looking down, seeing He Jie had already led the Armed Corps to clear the exposed three levels of water.

At that moment, they were slaughtering a continuous stream of aquatic mutant zombies.

Under dense bullet rain, zombies had no chance to act rampantly; even a Tier One that emerged was immediately shot.

If a small number of gun-wielding soldiers and a large number of mutant creatures made a horror film,

then a large number of armed soldiers facing a sizable mutant creature army would be a sci-fi military film.

But with logistical multi-arms cooperation and Evolvers facing a vast number of mutant creatures, it turns into an adrenaline-pumping spectacle instead.

An abundance of blood completely dyed the water’s surface dark red, as bodies fell, grenades fired, and scarlet droplets seemed to dance on the water surface.

Su Huan opened the design papers, shielding his eyes from the grisly slaughter before him.

It had to be said, the older generation of researchers was truly dedicated; their draft papers were meticulously hand-drawn. Although he couldn’t understand the parameters and annotations written above, he could sense the intricate beauty the interwoven lines conveyed.

”Seems like you added something?”

Su Huan inquired.

”Yes, initially, we only considered how to stabilize the tree upright. To ensure stability, at minimum, a circular diameter of thirty meters is required, but I felt the area was somewhat wasted. Captain Yu developed an ultra-light material from the outer tube of deep-sea worms, superior in strength to engineering plastics, yet significantly lighter.”

”So I took it upon myself to expand the diameter to 35 meters, modifying it into layers at a forty-meter height. By then, we could cultivate more plants, hence better fitting the ’floating giant wood’ requirement.”

Vice President Deng said while cautiously observing his expression.

Su Huan raised an eyebrow, removing the blueprint, casting a glance at the water below with a soft chuckle, ”He Jie, a big one is coming out.”

He Jie didn’t even ask, immediately shouted, ”Prepare!”

The next moment, the murky water erupted, and a gray-skinned mutant zombie emerged, standing over three meters tall, comparable to a Butcher.

Its upper body resembled a sculpture created by Michelangelo, with distinct muscle blocks, smooth lines, and evenly distributed epidermis.
