Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 979, Directly Targeting Lu Fan

Translator: Silavin

Facing the Asura King’s overwhelming Attributes, Mikami Heiji could barely resist.

Still, he was not weak. Ordinary Players might have fallen by this point but now him. Facing an opponent who was not releasing Skills, he could still use his own Skills to manoeuvre.

However, manoeuvring was one thing, the Asura King’s powerful Defence and Self-Healing left him with no solutions whatsoever.

Continuing like this, Mikami Heiji had no chance of winning.

In fact, Mikami Heiji even used his Fourth Profession Skill, which was an earth-shaking strike that managed to open a gap in the Asura King’s body.

This gap quickly healed over though, nearly causing Mikami Heiji’s heart to collapse.

He now deeply regretted making that earlier decision to challenge all five of Lu Fan’s group simultaneously.

No, he should say he regretted challenging Jian Ying and the other two.

If he had known their Combination Skill was this troublesome, Mikami Heiji would never have chosen to fight them.

And with ten Epic Grade items as the wager!

If he had known it would come to this, he should have only challenged Lu Fan, finding a way to just prevent him alone from entering the Tsukimi Sect.

Now, the boast he made could not be taken back, and with this golden giant blocking his path, he momentarily had no way to respond.

While fighting the Asura King, he even saw Lu Fan and Jin Zhan leisurely chatting and laughing in the back, completely unconcerned with him. This made him even more furious.

“You bastard! Turns out you’re just a coward who knows how to hide behind women!” Mikami Heiji fought while thinking of a solution, beginning to mock Lu Fan coldly.

Sure enough, after he said this, Lu Fan seemed to take the bait, asking in return. “What do you mean coward?”

“Aren’t you a coward!?” Mikami Heiji sneered. “I’m fighting all five of you, yet you two men are hiding in the back, letting three women fight me. Why? It must be because you’re a coward, who doesn’t dare fight me!”

“If you were the one fighting me, you would have been beaten off the stage long ago, losing your qualification to enter the Tsukimi Sect. Without even the courage to come fight me, even if you can enter the Tsukimi Sect, so what? How many people here will respect you?”

Lu Fan heard this and instead laughed. “What, you want to fight me? Forget it. Fighting all five of us at once was your own proposal, not ours. I don’t care what you say or what others think. Being able to enter the Tsukimi Sect is enough for me. You should just focus on your fight with these three friends of mine. Think about whether you’ll be able to gather those ten Epic Grade items later.”

After Lu Fan finished speaking, he still showed no intention of stepping forward.

This made Mikami Heiji furious. He simply stopped wasting words.

Since he could provoke Lu Fan to participate in the battle, he would have to take the initiative to attack!

Lu Fan’s refusal to step forward actually revealed one thing, he should not have a Combination Skill, and his Combat Power should be weaker than these three.

This was indeed Mikami Heiji’s mistake though. He had been too careless, insisting on fighting five at once, and ending up provoking these three troublesome opponents with their Combination Skill.

Without this Combination Skill, he should still have the upper hand.

This Combination Skill was indeed difficult to handle.

However, with his strength, dealing with Lu Fan should not be difficult.

Otherwise, Lu Fan should have joined the battle long ago instead of only daring to cower at the back.

With this thought, Mikami Heiji had an idea.

He shouted loudly, and immediately, his form split into four.

There were now four Mikami Heijis with no differences between them.

Then, the four Mikami Heijis charged forward. Two of them raised their swords and slashed down fiercely on the Asura King’s body.

The Asura King took the attack and retreated half a step, momentarily exposing a gap.

Taking advantage of this moment, the other two Mikami Heijis broke through the Asura King’s Defence, charging toward Jin Zhan and Lu Fan in the backline.

Mikami Heiji’s train of thought was quite simple: he would not fight the Asura King head-on, but would instead attack those at the back.

Since Lu Fan was weak, then he would kill Lu Fan first!

As long as Lu Fan was eliminated, he would have gained the upper hand in this one-versus-five battle.

Then, he could slowly deal with the Asura King and see if there were any further countermeasures.

Perhaps, the opponents’ Combination Skill had a time limit and would soon separate, giving him a chance to win.

Even if there was no time limit, Mikami Heiji, having already defeated two of Lu Fan’s people, meant he had the advantage and he might be able to force a draw.

Then, he could still enter the Tsukimi Sect while keeping his Epic items.

So, no matter what, at this moment, coming to attack the weakest Lu Fan and his field was the most optimal solution.

Seeing Mikami Heiji charging toward them, Lu Fan and Jin Zhan naturally understood what he was thinking.

Jin Zhan stepped forward, intending to act, but Lu Fan raised his hand to stop him.

Jin Zhan and Lu Fan had developed an understanding. Now, Jin Zhan was able to immediately grasp what Lu Fan wanted to do.

He simply smiled and stepped back.

Lu Fan, meanwhile, raised his staff and summoned seven Totems around himself.

These seven Totems actually did not have much use. Only two or three could release Support Skills to teammates, enhancing their Attributes.

The reason for this was that Lu Fan did not want to expose his true strength.

Summoning so many Totems would make others think that his displayed strength was related to his Totems.

Seven Totems did not make Mikami Heiji hesitant in the slightest though.

In a flash, he reached Lu Fan, both clones striking with their swords, fully intending to kill Lu Fan with one strike.

Facing the oncoming Mikami Heiji, Lu Fan merely smiled slightly, reaching out to slap at Mikami Heiji’s swords.

*Crack!* Immediately, an explosive sound rang out.

The two greatswords shattered them  directly, their Durability reaching 0.

This scene shocked quite a few people around them.

Because Mikami Heiji’s weapon was an Epic Grade, its hardness went without saying.

Yet Lu Fan had shattered it with a single slap.

[Is he even Human!?]

Mikami Heiji himself was equally astonished. He suddenly realized he seemed to have made a mistake.

Lu Fan’s persistent refusal to act was not because he was weak and didn’t dare participate in combat.

It was because he was too strong and simply disdained to act!
