Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 975, Just This Much?!

Translator: Silavin

Amid everyone’s amazement, Mikami Heiji was extremely arrogant, his chin slightly raised as he walked down from the platform with his chest out and head high.

As he walked down, he did not forget to scan the crowd, his gaze naturally falling on Lu Fan.

Their eyes met. Mikami Heiji sneered and made a throat-slitting gesture with his hand before leaving.

Lu Fan just shook his head and smiled at this.

He really could not understand what this person had to be so arrogant about. [Don’t you know the principle that there is always someone else above you? Like there is always Heaven above the skies?]

[But, for some frogs at the bottom of a well to think themselves invincible, I guess it is quite normal.] Lu Fan did not take Mikami Heiji to heart. After all, too many people who had died by his hand had strength far surpassing Mikami Heiji. It was to the point Lu Fan himself lost count of them all.

In short, Mikami Heiji was no different to a pest. One which he could casually crush to death later.

The test continued.

Soon, it was Lu Fan and the others’ turn.

The first to go up was Qin Qiu.

Qin Qiu naturally chose to test as a Damage Dealer.

She released a Minor Skill, immediately scoring over three thousand points.

Qin Qiu had a powerful Hidden Profession, and her equipment was extremely luxurious, far exceeding that of ordinary Fourth Profession Players. So, her Damage Output was naturally beyond question.

Over three thousand points was definitely not her limit.

If Qin Qiu wanted, releasing a Fourth Profession Skill could easily score seven or eight thousand points.

But there was no need. After all, exceeding one thousand was enough to enter the final test. Earning more points would be a waste, so why waste that energy?

After obtaining qualification for the final test, Qin Qiu contentedly took her card, indicating that she had passed, and returned to Lu Fan and the others.

Because everyone had passed the preliminary test together, their order for this test was also in the same sequence.

Next to appear was Tao Xiaoman.

Tao Xiaoman’s Profession Characteristics were very balanced; she could try each of the three alloy stakes.

Finally, deliberately holding back, Tao Xiaoman’s three stakes each scored around one thousand points, with a total score not much different from Qin Qiu’s.

This caused even more amazement from many people, saying how modern day pretty girls were getting fiercer.

That previous one having such formidable Damage Output was one thing, but this one was even more impressive: her Profession Characteristics were so comprehensive, covering Attack, Defence, and Support!

With over three thousand points, Tao Xiaoman naturally easily entered the final test.

Next to appear was Jian Ying.

Jian Ying need not be mentioned: from Profession Characteristics, combat experience, and strength, she was above Tao Xiaoman and Qin Qiu.

While deliberately holding back, she easily scored over four thousand. It was closer to five thousand points, and that caused waves of amazement to cry out. She easily entered the final test.

After that came Jin Zhan.

The current Jin Zhan was wearing the Mask of Deception, so his Profession was still set to Black Flame Mage.

What he needed to select was naturally the alloy stake that tested Damage Dealers.

Finally, Jin Zhan scored over two thousand points, clearly having held back a ton more than the girls.

But he ultimately passed this test, becoming another one qualified for the final test.

The last to take the stage was Lu Fan.

Lu Fan thought about it and tried each of the three stakes.

He used Lightning Totem to score over nine hundred points of Damage Output, used Taunt Totem to withstand over nine hundred points of Defence, and finally used Healing Totem to Heal over seven hundred points.

Finally, Lu Fan’s score was around two thousand six hundred, slightly higher than Jin Zhan.

Seeing Lu Fan’s result, quite a few people were slightly impressed. They now knew this young man was strong. However, compared to Mikami Heiji before him, this score did not seem particularly shocking.

Forget Mikami Heiji, just Jian Ying and the others had scored higher than him.

Lu Fan appeared last with a score of around two thousand six hundred. Clearly, it was not that eye-catching of a performance.

Below the stage, seeing Lu Fan’s performance produce such results, Mikami Heiji sneered even more contemptuously.

“I thought he was some impressive character. Turns out he only amounts to this much. With that kind of strength, he dares to challenge me? Hehe, in the final test later, I’ll shatter your hope of entering the Tsukimi Sect. By then I’ll be a member, while you’ll just be an ordinary person. I’ll break your limbs and watch with my own eyes how I ‘play around’ with your girlfriend!”

“Just imagining that scene feels so thrilling…” Mikami Heiji could not help but laugh coldly, his eyes burning.

Soon, the test came to an end.

This time, approximately two hundred people passed this round and entered the final test.

The number of new members the Tsukimi Sect planned to recruit this time was tentatively set at one hundred.

In other words, the Tsukimi Sect still needed to select one from every two among the remaining people, eliminating the other half.

Actually, the remaining two hundred people all had decent strength. In the previous years, all of them would have had the strength to be selected into the Tsukimi Sect.

But there was no help for it. As the last sanctuary in Cherry Blossom Country, Okino Island had gathered too many people seeking a stable life. And among these people, many had decent strength and wanted to enter the Tsukimi Sect to live lives as superior beings.

This led to the quality of those registering to join to rise, forcing them to use increasingly strict conditions for round after round of selection.

Presumably in the future, the difficulty of joining the Tsukimi Sect would be even higher.

If the Tsukimi Sect still existed in the future, that was.

After the second round ended, the final test immediately followed.

By this time, the sky had darkened. Many people had already been busy here for a whole day.

But fortunately, everyone was a Player with quite high Levels, so going a few days without eating or drinking was no problem.

Moreover, even as the sky darkened, everyone could still see clearly. After all, with such High Levels, their perception definitely did not fall behind.

But the Tsukimi Sect, either for everyone’s convenience or to promote their Sect’s power, somehow managed to make a full moon rise overhead.

The moonlight scattered down, illuminating everything around as bright as day. At the same time, bathed in this moonlight, everyone was affected by a not particularly strong Buff.

This Buff made everyone feel very comfortable, sweeping away all fatigue.

Borrowing this moonlight, everyone continued the last round, the final test for entering the Tsukimi Sect.

At this moment, although only over two hundred Players were left, several thousand people had gathered here, waiting for the show to begin.

After all, battles between Players would inevitably be spectacular. Even if they could not enter the Tsukimi Sect, watching the new members’ strength here was still quite a show.
