Chapter 1135: Chapter 389: Puppet and Demon Statue (Part 3)

-----------------

Facing this situation, Rein thought briefly and then controlled the Angry Hammer Battle Puppet, charging directly at Joseph’s Sword and Shield Puppet. At the same time, the puppet held the heavy hammer with both hands at its side, poised as if ready to strike.

”Hmm? That’s not a good response. If the only puppet gets entangled, it would be quite passive.” Alicia shook her head and remarked.

”What a pity, Rein junior is going to lose. As controllers, when we only have one battle puppet, we must prioritize protecting ourselves.”

She noticed that although Rein’s talent was astounding, he was quite the pure ’novice’ when it came to puppet control!

However, Audrey remained silent, her beautiful eyes fixed on the center of the field.

”Clang!”

Facing a heavy swing from the Angry Hammer Battle Puppet, Joseph quickly controlled his Sword and Shield Puppet to raise its shield to block.

Blocked! Joseph was pleased, but just as he planned to have his Sword and Shield Puppet entangle the opponent, he was surprised to find that his Sword and Shield Puppet had been knocked back several steps by a single hammer strike.

Hmm? Was the skill ’Angry Hammer Strike’ of the Angry Hammer Battle Puppet activated?

It shouldn’t be.

He didn’t feel any energy fluctuation from the opponent.

Joseph quickly contemplated.

This was actually because Rein’s Activation Technique level was quite high, coupled with his own mastery of close combat techniques, allowing him to control the Angry Hammer Battle Puppet and exert excellent combat power.

Simply put, an average Wizard can only exert about sixty to seventy percent of a middle-stage battle puppet’s combat power, but Rein could exert more than ninety percent of it.

This was like in a previous life, only Takumi driving the AE86 could almost fully utilize the car’s performance, whereas other racers generally couldn’t achieve this.

This scene naturally left the two women dumbfounded.

”It seems Rein junior is very proficient in close combat; otherwise, it would be impossible to grasp the timing so well.” Alicia frowned slightly, pondering for a while, and spoke.

”Hmm, probably.” Audrey responded somewhat perfunctorily.

At this moment, Joseph came to his senses, apparently unable to accept this result.

Seeing Rein’s Angry Hammer Battle Puppet seizing this opportunity to rush at him, Joseph immediately decided to use the special skill of the Sword and Shield Puppet.

”Charge!”

With a flash of energy fluctuation from a small energy device, the three-meter-high Sword and Shield Puppet quickly stepped forward, chasing after the Angry Hammer Battle Puppet.

Seeing this scene, Joseph’s confidence returned.

Because if the Sword and Shield Puppet could catch up and entangle the opponent, the victory would still be his.

The Iron Plate Battle Puppet he had arranged earlier had already rushed to within less than twenty meters behind Rein.

At this moment, Rein smiled faintly and immediately commanded the Angry Hammer Battle Puppet to activate a skill as well.

”Angry Hammer Strike!”

The three-meter-high battle puppet swung the massive dual-handed warhammer in its hands, suddenly accelerating, a black arc flashing by!

”Boom!”

Immediately, a deafening metal clashing sound erupted!

The Sword and Shield Puppet, which had just charged from behind to catch up, desperately raised its shield to block, but was still sent flying by an Angry Hammer strike, landing heavily seven or eight meters away.

”Shit!”

Before Joseph could manipulate the Sword and Shield Puppet to get up again, he saw the Angry Hammer Battle Puppet had already rushed to within several meters of him, while his Iron Plate Battle Puppet was still seven or eight meters away from Rein.

”Rein junior, I concede!” Joseph turned pale and shouted immediately.

Facing the recent strike from the Angry Hammer Battle Puppet, Joseph had no desire to try experiencing it.

”Hmm? Not fighting anymore?” Rein seemed a little surprised.

According to his understanding, even if the puppet was close, there were still many ways for a Wizard to respond; the battle was far from over. For instance, using innate wizardry or casting action-restricting sorcery, the fight could certainly continue.

”Rein junior, generally speaking, allowing a middle-stage battle puppet to get close is basically considered losing.” At this moment, a fragrant breeze approached, as Alicia slowly walked up to Rein and explained.

Is it a convention?

That’s not practical in real combat.

”Tsk tsk, Rein junior, I didn’t expect your puppet control ability to be so strong? Come, let sister try you this time...” Alicia laughed coquettishly and said.

...

After a fierce battle.

To avoid being too conspicuous, Rein reluctantly ’fell’ in defeat, but the tense and intense battle process still left Alicia utterly astonished.

She hadn’t expected that with two puppets against one, they almost couldn’t come out on top.

”Rein junior, if you reach the middle stage of a First Level Wizard, I certainly won’t be your match.”

”By the way, Audrey, aren’t you going to have a match with Rein junior?”

”Me...? I’d better not.” Audrey immediately shook her head upon hearing this.

...

After several more days, Rein became increasingly proficient at controlling the Angry Hammer Battle Puppet in combat, and his understanding of puppet combat deepened.

In fact, the combat power of a middle-stage battle puppet is roughly equivalent to a Peak Knight who has mastered the primary Secret Technique. Of course, it surpasses in strength and defense, but is slightly inferior in agility.

Regarding this, Rein could easily defeat it even without Transformation.

He hadn’t encountered an advanced battle puppet yet, but he supposed it would be the same.

Meaning, unless it’s to create a War Magic Statue, it doesn’t have much significance in improving his combat power.
