Chapter 1112: Chapter 382: Underlying Currents Surge (Part 2)

...

Several hours later.

The butler, Owen, once again entered the Duke’s study to report:

”Your Grace, according to news from the Sword Bearers Headquarters, this Rein not only has eyewitnesses but also physical evidence. As things stand, it’s highly likely the other party will be acquitted.”

”Currently, General Augustus has decided merely to restrict Rein’s freedom, ordering him not to leave the Imperial City Tamriel for two weeks.”

”Additionally, according to General Donald’s assessment, it seems both General Augustus and Marshal Alfred, who is abroad, are quite appreciative of this Rein. It’s challenging for him alone to change the conclusion of this matter.”

At this moment, Duke Drum had already returned to his usual, inscrutable demeanor, his face calm, showing no trace of a father who had just suffered the pain of losing a child.

After listening carefully to his butler Owen’s report, he pondered for a moment and asked, ”Did you just say eyewitnesses?”

”Yes, a total of five people: three from the Sharp Sword Team of the Nome Province Sword Bearers Branch and two from the Sword Bearers Headquarters.”

”Contact the Nome Province side, arrange for the Sword Bearer Team you just mentioned to execute a mission, then contact the Black Blade Organization, and have them handle it cleanly, preferably making it look like an accident.”

”Tell them that their last mistake resulted in significant losses for the Drum Family, and we hope this time there won’t be any issues.” Duke Drum said in a low voice.

”As you command, Your Grace. What about those two from the Headquarters?”

Because no one dares to act carelessly within the Imperial City, the previous Imperial City battle has made Tamriel’s defensive power unprecedentedly strong, with at least two or more epic-level powerhouses stationed.

”Investigate their family backgrounds. If they aren’t from the Imperial City, find their families, then contact them to leave the city, and handle them on the road.”

”Understood, Your Grace. That way, there won’t be any eyewitnesses.” Butler Owen’s eyes lit up.

”Hmm. As for the evidence, what is it?” Duke Drum asked.

”The body and weapon of the ’King of Assassins’ from the Black Blade Organization, and the body of family advisor ’Corpse Splitter’ Greg.” Butler Owen replied respectfully.

”What connection does the Black Blade Organization’s assassin have with Greenwood? Without eyewitnesses, a single body is meaningless.”

”And Greg’s body? Is it currently kept at the Imperial Swordsmen Headquarters?” Duke Drum frowned slightly as he spoke.

”No, Greg’s body is still housed at the Nome Province Sword Bearers Branch, but the next step would probably be to send it to the Imperial Swordsmen Headquarters.”

”Then there’s no problem, arrange for someone to handle it on the way.” Duke Drum waved his hand, speaking dismissively.

”Without eyewitnesses and evidence, the initiative in this matter returns to us.”

”The most troublesome thing about this Rein is his official status—Fine Gold Level Sword Bearer. Without this, he has nothing to rely on. Alfred’s appreciation also wouldn’t be able to help him much.” Duke Drum finally looked somewhat relieved as he spoke slowly.

”I will take care of it right away, Your Grace.” Butler Owen said with joy on his face.

Owen now had a rough understanding of Duke Drum’s plan.

Erase all evidence detrimental to their side, then accuse Rein of arbitrarily killing his team members. Once the other party is labeled at fault, there’s a lot of room for maneuver.

”I’ve heard that Rein’s family is in Mingster, Your Grace, should we send someone...”

”No, there’s no point in that, and it would only provoke the other party into doing something irrational. If he becomes desperate and attempts to assassinate me, would you defend against him?”

”Uh... I’m sorry, Your Grace, it was an oversight on my part.” Butler Owen bowed deeply.

”Oh, by the way, Your Grace, there’s one more thing. We’ve discovered that this Rein is closely connected with the Bavarian family and is currently staying at the Bavarian family mansion.”

”That’s expected. With a talent emerging from the Minnie Duke’s province, there’s bound to be an intention to win him over. I’ll discuss this with the Bavarian family.”

”Furthermore... about Rein’s strength...” Butler Owen hesitated, still inwardly fearful of Rein’s power, so he reminded.

”With Pantoscoke’s ancestors around, there’s no ripple he can cause.”

”Of course!” Butler Owen’s body trembled upon hearing the name.

That is a Guardian of the Empire!

An epic-level powerhouse; it’s precisely because of him that the Drum Family can be termed as an imperial aristocracy.

Unexpectedly, this time they had to disturb this great being.

Indeed, this Rein deserves to die, acting ruthless and without hesitation, such a person should be completely erased.

Sword Bearers Headquarters.

Inside the training building.

Rein went to the service desk and asked, ”Excuse me, do you have a witchcraft power testing room here? Oh, and I’ll need a private one.”

”Yes, we do, sir, but it requires an additional fee.”

”That’s fine.” Rein nodded and handed over his Fine Gold Emblem.

The young female staff member glanced at it, her small mouth slightly open in surprise, and immediately took it respectfully, saying, ”S-sir, please follow me.”

Quickly, Rein followed the female staff member to the third floor, only to hear her say, ”Sir, this row of private rooms are Second Level Witchcraft testing rooms, and the last two are Third Level Witchcraft testing rooms.”

”Let’s go to a Third Level Witchcraft testing room.”

”Of course, sir.” The girl, knowing Rein was a Fine Gold Level Sword Bearer, naturally saw nothing inappropriate about him going to a Third Level Witchcraft testing room.
