Chapter 1111: Chapter 382: Undercurrents Surging

“Alright, Donald.” At this moment, General Augustus gently tapped his fingers on the table and made the final decision.

“Rein, as it currently stands, your actions fall under self-defense. However, the headquarters still needs to investigate the specific situation. Therefore, in the next two weeks, you are not allowed to leave the Imperial City Tamriel temporarily. Is that a problem?”

“Of course not, I will cooperate with the headquarters’ investigation.” Rein smiled and said.

“Very well.”

“By the way, Rein, you just arrived at the headquarters and completed the task of slaying the Poison Liquid Flying Dragon. Not bad. Before the results of your investigation come out, your task rewards will be settled normally without being affected.”

“Thank you, General Augustus.” Rein slightly bowed and expressed his gratitude.

It was obvious that the General Augustus in front of him seemed to be somewhat biased towards him, and his speech pattern of first suppressing then supporting testified to this.

Although Rein did not know the specific reason, the fact that the task reward settlement and special items exchange were unaffected was naturally the best scenario.

….

Ten minutes later, Rein left the meeting room.

He first went to the task hall to complete the settlement of the Poison Liquid Flying Dragon task, and then he went towards the stand-alone accommodation area specially prepared for Fine Gold Level Sword Bearers.

It’s not considered a villa because there is almost no yard.

In fact, in the inch of land is gold city of Imperial City Tamriel, the fact that the Sword Holder Headquarters could draw a part of the area for stand-alone accommodations for Fine Gold Level Sword Bearers was already quite difficult.

Moreover, these conditions far exceed the treatment of Diamond Star Sword Bearers at the Mingster Branch, so Rein naturally had nothing to complain about.

The first floor is the training room, the second floor is the reception area and dining room, and the third floor is the study and bedroom.

The training room is placed on the first floor, considering that some Fine Gold Level Sword Bearers follow the Knight Path, their physical strength is too strong, and even if the ground can be reinforced, the second and third floors are still easily penetrated.

“Knock, knock, knock!”

Just as Rein entered his stand-alone dormitory, a knock on the door sounded.

“Lord Rein, General Augustus asked me to relay to you to pay attention to the movements of some families recently.” The young female major from the meeting just now appeared at the door, smiled at Rein, and said.

“Alright! Please relay my thanks to General Augustus for his concern.” Rein nodded.

Although Rein did not yet know why this General Augustus, whom he met for the first time, intended to help him, Rein was not too curious. He believed he would naturally know the reason soon.

…

Meanwhile.

In a luxurious mansion in the Inner Ring of the Imperial City.

The butler Owen hurriedly walked down the carpeted corridor, slightly panicked, ignoring the salutes from servants on both sides until he slowed his pace only upon reaching the study.

He then slightly adjusted his collar, took a deep breath, and knocked on the door.

“Come in!” The deep voice of Duke Drum resonated.

As butler Owen entered the study, he saw Duke Drum behind a broad mahogany desk reviewing documents, and he softly reported: “Duke, the mission failed!”

“Hmm?… Was it because the ‘King of Assassins’ from the Black Blade Organization did not arrive in time? Or was there a problem with the Poison Liquid Flying Dragon task?” Duke Drum did not think Rein could defeat three at once, so he instinctively thought there was a problem with the coordination.

“Neither, the ‘King of Assassins’ from the Black Blade Organization arrived on time, but including the Poison Liquid Flying Dragon, they were all slain by that Rein.”

Upon hearing this from his butler, Duke Drum’s hand holding the quill paused, he was slightly stunned, but immediately realized that the failure his butler mentioned was different from what he initially thought.

Duke Drum asked anxiously, “What about Greenwood?”

“Well… Young Master Greenwood… also died at the hands of Rein.”

“What!” Duke Drum stood up abruptly, his face full of shock!

“What about ‘Corpse Splitter’ Greg? As the family advisor, did he flee back alone?” Duke Drum angrily asked.

“Uh… Advisor Greg was also killed in battle on the spot!” When he said this, butler Owen’s eyes still had a hint of terror.

When he first received this news, his shock was even greater than that of the Duke Drum before him.

For a moment, the entire study fell into a long silence.

After a long while, Duke Drum sat back in his large chair, seemingly slumping a bit, and asked slowly:

“Tell me the whole story in detail.”

“Yes, Duke.” Butler Owen then recounted the intelligence he had received to Duke Drum in detail, word for word.

Duke Drum, after a moment of contemplation, asked, “So, the second son, Chandler of the Marquis Ulrich, and Mia of the Jenkins Family, were also killed by this Rein.”

“Yes, Duke.” Butler Owen nodded and said.

“Contact Marquis Ulrich and Marquis Jenkins; this Rein is too reckless, I want to make him pay in blood!” The duke, with fury burning in his heart, said in a deep voice.

“Yes, Duke.”

Butler Owen naturally understood Duke Drum’s meaning.

The Ulrich family and the Jenkins family were both not weak in strength; as old-line families of the Imperial City, they both had advisors at the Legendary Strongman level, and their influence in the Imperial City was deeply entrenched.

Joining forces with the Drum family, unless Rein had an extraordinary background, it was certain that he was doomed!
