Chapter 1110: Chapter 381: Power in Three Forms (Part 4)

Because he realized that causing trouble for someone of Anthony’s level wasn’t significant.

“Well… my authority is indeed limited. Please wait a moment, I’ll report it immediately.” With that, the spherical-bodied Anthony dashed out of the office.

Rein naturally considered whether to give Greenwood, Mia, Chandler, and others a more respectful explanation, perhaps saying that they died in battle against the Poison Liquid Flying Dragons.

That way, it would save some face.

But after thinking about it, Rein rejected the idea.

After all, this world has Diviners, Astrologers, and other secretive professions. If he were to lie for the sake of saving their face, he might end up harming himself.

Rather than that, he might as well tear off this final cover.

…..

Half an hour later, Rein was invited into a meeting room.

More people came this time; as for Anthony, he didn’t even have the qualification to attend.

The leader was a dignified elder with golden leaves and four suns on his epaulette, signifying that he was a General of the Dragan Empire, ranking above a Senior General.

If Rein remembered correctly, the person should be General Augustus, responsible for leading the daily operations of the Sword Holder Headquarters, second only to Marshal Alfred.

The person was a notable figure even within the entire Empire.

Beside him were two senior generals of the Empire, and two junior generals holding notebooks, seemingly relegated to secretarial roles.

Clearly, Rein’s matter had alarmed the highest levels of the Sword Holder Headquarters.

“Lord Rein, this is General Augustus, this is General Donald, this is…”

“You may now recount the events that transpired at the time.” The sharp-eyed female junior general on the far side said.

“Alright!” Rein nodded, then proceeded to narrate the sequence of events.

Several minutes later.

The male junior general on the far side suddenly interrupted Rein’s recount, speaking in a deep voice:

“Wait a moment, Lord Rein, you just said that Mithril-level Sword Bearer Mia and Magic Iron Level Sword Bearer Chandler attacked you with witchcraft during the battle with the Poison Liquid Flying Dragons?”

“Is there any evidence to support this?”

“There is. Two other members of my team can testify to it, and Nome Province’s Sword Bearers Branch’s Blade Squad can also prove it.” Rein glanced at the man and replied.

“Please continue, Lord Rein.”

Ten minutes later, when Rein mentioned that he was suddenly ambushed by the ‘King of Assassins’ from the Black Blade Organization, everyone besides General Augustus showed expressions of surprise.

“Lord Rein, did you say the assassin was the ‘King of Assassins’ from the Black Blade Organization?” The female junior general asked, half-believing.

“Yes, the corpse and the weapon are now stored at Nome Province’s Sword Bearers Branch. I suppose it shouldn’t be difficult for the headquarters to investigate his identity thoroughly?”

“It should not be difficult if there is a body and custom weapon.” The female junior general nodded.

When Rein narrated how Greenwood had ordered Greg to attack him, leading to Greg’s demise instead, General Donald could no longer hold back and spoke:

“You said you first killed the Poison Liquid Flying Dragon, then the King of Assassins from the Black Blade Organization, and finally this ‘Corpse Splitter’ Greg.”

“Bear in mind that among these three, two were Legendary Peak, and dealing with the King of Assassins wouldn’t be much easier than facing a Legendary Peak. To defeat all three in succession defies logic.”

“Moreover, if you were indeed capable of defeating these three, Greenwood’s power drastically differs from yours, there’s no reason you couldn’t hold back.”

“I believe you need a more detailed and reasonable explanation.” Donald said in a serious tone.

“Haha, no choice, my first assigned task as a new Sword Bearer was to slay the Poison Liquid Flying Dragon.”

“I was too enthusiastic during the fight, and accidentally used too much force, killing Greenwood in the process.” Rein shrugged, smiling.

Needless to say, Rein held no goodwill towards General Donald, who might have played a role in manipulating his assigned tasks.

“You…” Clearly, General Donald was extremely dissatisfied with Rein’s attitude.

Especially since Rein’s words had hidden implications, giving Donald an ominous feeling.

Could it be…

This defiant young man knows something…
