Warhammer Divine Throne

”Laine’s existence is an anomaly, many terrible corruptions and curses even I cannot dispel, but he has a way.” The Lake Fairy’s expression gradually turned solemn: ”Did he help you dispel the curse?”

”No, he said he lacked strength, but he placed a Spiritual Seal on me, allowing me to avoid further erosion from the curse.” Mogiana’s demeanor was extremely respectful: ”His Light of Spiritual Power has purified the filth troubling me, and I feel much better now.”

”Without a doubt, he is that silver horse, we need his power, Mogiana, you are my spokesperson, he is my Divine Chosen, I hope you two can get along well.” The Lake Fairy decreed another oracle: ”Perhaps, the way to save this country lies on his shoulders.”

”Understood, my Lady.” Mogiana had never heard such a clear and definitive oracle, nor had she been possessed for so long. The Lake God Witch felt very strange in her heart, but as the spokesperson and devout follower of the Lake Fairy, Mogiana would never probe into the thoughts and powers of the Lake Fairy, she would only obey.

At this moment, a loud commotion drew the Lake Fairy’s attention back to the inside of the venue.

Her Divine Chosen Champion approached her with a smile, holding a cavalry lance.

On the tip of the lance, a bundle of golden hair was flashing with captivating light.

The holy ritual concluded amidst a storm of cheers.

The next day, Lake God Witch Mogiana, the Duke of Winford, and Laine would lead their remaining troops back to their own domain, preparing for winter.

Laine once again demonstrated his noble side by spending every last bit of the 1,500 gold crowns he received without reserve. This money would be distributed as compensation payments to the families of fallen soldiers.

Carrying only fifty sets of brand new sergeants’ armor, Laine and his companions set out on their journey home.

At this point, it was already early October. By the time they returned to the Winford Duchy, it was late autumn, and in a few weeks, Brittania would see its first snowfall.

Traveling with Laine and his group was Duke Boldro Bodrick, the Sea God’s Divine Chosen Champion, who engaged in much conversation with the group on their journey. This Duke was strong-willed, embracing all like the great sea, but also as merciless as the sea.

Amidst the golden-yellow fields, the Lake God Witch Mogiana sat side-saddle on the Unicorn ”Hilphain,” with Laine riding alongside her. Joining them were Duke Francois and Duke Bodrick, the four highest status individuals traveling together.

As the spokesperson for the Lake Fairy, Mogiana was never one with a good temper, or rather, the Lake God Witch had always been an enigmatic person. She was a Holy Sanctuary Grand Mage of the Sky Element and Life Element, with a mysterious and elusive presence, often appearing throughout Brittania to punish evil wizards or rogue knights who did not adhere to the knightly path, secretly aiding oppressed peasants and Mission Knights undergoing the Holy Grail Trial.

Most of the time, she secluded herself within a Wizard Tower in the swamps near Fairy Lake in the Kakasong Duchy, and no one knew what she did inside the tower.

There was an amusing story about the Lake God Witch: she had a hobby of turning those she punished into frogs, such as challenging wizards or rogue knights who failed their tests... as a result, peasant girls in Brittania often played a game called ”Kissing Frogs,” where they would seek out frogs in ponds and swamps, kissing them in hopes of breaking the Lake God Witch’s curse and changing their fate.

Whether it was true or not, in any case, Laine had no interest in trying.

”We have already passed through the Leonais Duchy, next we will head south and pass through Connaught.” Francois approached on horseback: ”That... Cursed Lands, Musillon.”

”Recently, the Blood Red Duke has been quite well-behaved, the Rangers have not detected any new movements from him.” Duke Boldro Bodrick, appearing to be around forty years old, was actually over eighty. Even by the standards of a Legendary Powerhouse, he was already middle-aged. In recent years, rumors had circulated that he wanted to set aside his secular affairs and embark on the Path of the Holy Grail, but the frequent raids by Dark Elf Pirates, vampire appearances within his domain, and the Undead Knight Army of the Blood Red Duke in the north left him no free time.

Mogiana’s face was cold, she merely nodded.

Musillon Castle was located at the mouth of the Grismere River, whose source was the Arden Forest. Once a small but prosperous Duchy of Connaught, it had now become a domain of the undead, the entire castle seemed to be gradually being swallowed by the marsh, yet due to some special spells or reconstruction, it stood firm at the river mouth.

No matter how unwilling to admit, Brittania had effectively lost this port city, after the Dor Tower incident, the knights had made efforts, the Blood Red Duke could be defeated repeatedly, but the knights could not take down Musillon.

Laine had once asked the reason, to which Francois had wryly smiled and told him: ”When you are faced with a wall sixty meters high and twenty meters wide, it’s hard to think about how you could conquer it, Laine, remember, the undead don’t worry about manpower or resources.”
