Chapter 356: Chapter 152, Eager to Achieve Merit_3

”Advance! Advance! For the Lady! For Brittania!” Every knight hopes to attract the Lady’s attention through their brave performance. Count Adelaide struggles to restrain the knights’ desire for battle achievements, or perhaps he never planned to restrain them at all.

The main force of the Beastman Army is on the Right Army’s side, several dozens of kilometers away from our Left Army!

When else but now should the knights seize some glory?

Thus, the Knightly Army of over ten thousand people gradually formed a long snake formation, with knights eager to make their mark charging to the very front of the entire procession, several kilometers ahead of the Peasant Infantry Corp and accompanying logistics personnel at the rear.

On the afternoon of September 6th, the Left Army advanced towards a hilly area.

”My Count, Light Forest is just ahead!” a knight said to Count Adelaide.

Light Forest is a highland where valleys crisscross, with significant elevation changes. Many roads run through the gorges here. Tall, dense oak trees grow in this area, with few shrubs, allowing horses and people to move through the forest unhindered.

”Very good! Soldiers, let us hurry through this forest; victory is within sight!” Count Adelaide, in high spirits, immediately issued the command.

Knights have been traveling on foot through dense forest for several days and finally see a forest suitable for horseback travel. They loudly and excitedly mount their steeds and advance at a trot.

The knights’ joyful mood doesn’t last long. By afternoon, the weather suddenly turns, clouds gather thickly, and the sound of summer thunder erupts in the sky.

”Damn it, it’s going to rain.”

”Soldiers! Quickly, find shelter!”

”Be careful, don’t let the armor get soaked!”

The army has to halt their advance, each finding places to take cover from the rain. The knight’s squires hurry to cover the knight’s armors with oil cloth, carefully preserving them, while peasants gather in groups of three or five to find shelter under the big trees, stretching over several kilometers.

The thunder grows louder, and the rain gets heavier, pouring across the entire Light Forest. Under the densely clouded sky, peasant soldiers and knights can only curse this wretched weather while continually seeking shelter.

The forest becomes a swamp.

The sound of rain masks other noises, and muddy ground covers the sound of hoofbeats.

In the darkness, countless evil creatures draw close within the forest. The Beastman Army, after being defeated by Laine, navigated through the forest’s most secluded beast paths and arrived in this forest in two days.

Hundreds and thousands of Great Horned Beasts, standing three meters tall and wielding large axes, form ranks and slowly approach. Behind them are thousands of Horned Beasts and Inferior Horned Beasts, approaching from two directions.

Hundreds of Giant Minotaurs approach from another direction, followed by countless Chaos War Dogs, Razor Beasts, and Chaos Ogres.

On a Beastman chariot, Beast King ”Blood Horn” Maras observes the Knight Army’s formation meticulously and confirms the absence of Holy Grail Knights, a cruel and bloodthirsty smile emerging on its face: ”No... Holy Grail! Humans... weak!”

”Attack?” Screaming Great Shaman ”Heart-Eater” Groz exhales thick corruptive smoke.

”No, wait... wait!” Maras extends its claw, indicating the army to continue waiting.

After several hours of continuous heavy rain, the storm submerged the entire forest, turning it into a vast expanse of water, and the dark night enveloped the sky, leaving the knights in misery.

”Wait...” Maras finally spots the army it wants to see: ”Wait a little longer.”

Several Doomsday Bulls and Four-armed Bull Demons join the front lines, mercilessly trampling through the Beastman Army. One-eyed Cyclops, towering several meters high and wielding enormous wooden clubs, join the Beastman Army from the rear.

When the Doomsday Bulls and Cyclops reach the foremost of the Beastman lines, the Beast King decisively sweeps its hand: ”Now... attack!”

The heavy, oppressive sound of horns blares from deep within the forest.

”Boom~ woooooo!!!”

Amidst the stormy darkness, the Beastman Army surges forward.
