Warhammer Divine Throne

But the knights have never felt an ounce of fear in their hearts. At this sacred moment, all the people of Brittania stood firmly united. Their friendship, their anger, their swords formed the strongest force in their hearts—a force of will.

Arthur knew, all the Holy Grail Knights knew, everyone in Brittania understood that this was the final battle, the most glorious battle.

The Lady of the Lake is with us!

Arthur and every one of his companions showed immense bravery in that battle. Their performance was enough for all the minstrels to write songs of praise forever, their legend in that battle ample for all the transcribers to write epics forever! The moon crossed the sky, darkened by the smoke of battle time and again; the sun appeared over the battlefield again and again to dispel the darkness, without respite day after day.

Finally, the gloom lifted, victory arrived, and evil corpses piled up like mountains. Records suggest it took the Brittania people several seasons to clean the battlefield completely.

Peace descended, and Arthur was crowned King by the knights, with the Lake Fairy personally descending. Arthur was crowned by this beautiful Goddess, officially proclaiming the founding of the new Kingdom in Brittania.

The Holy Grail Cathedral was rebuilt, and it has stood firm through the storms for hundreds of years to this day.

”The Holy Grail Cathedral took over eighty years to complete, spanning three generations of Knight Kings. Its main structure consists of two cross-shaped buildings, each 161 meters long and 42 meters wide,” Surya introduced to Laine: ”The golden dome is intricately carved with stories from Arthur’s rise to power until he became King of Brittania.”

Walking through the Holy Grail Cathedral, a sense of dignity and solemnness arises naturally. Every stone, every piece of stained glass, every breath of air here contains a heavy sense of history and sacred faith.

If not for Arthur’s efforts, if not for his unwavering faith, if not for his never giving up hope, perhaps today’s Brittania would have long been a wasteland, for the Empire at that time had no ability to rescue the compatriots on this side of the mountains.

”The man has passed, yet the great spirit and faith he left behind have not. The great Arthur perhaps lives on in some sense, for his spirit and story will be eternally recounted until the end of the world,” Laine gazed at the murals and the vast, expansive golden dome high above. Twelve family crest shields fluttered at the highest point of the dome, representing the twelve original Holy Grail Knights and their family honors.

This made him think of his father and his brothers; the Emperor and his Genetic Primarchs were the same. Their achievements in the great expedition will be eternally celebrated; without them, there would have been no Human Empire.

Just now...

”Welcome, Lady’s Champion, Holy Grail Knight, Baron Gene, Lord Laine Macado,” without waiting too long, a priest from the cathedral greeted them and gave Laine a very high courtesy, even bowing proactively: ”Welcome to this sacred place, blessing of the lady.”

”I am very honored to visit here. In the name of the Lady, good morning.” Laine nodded respectfully.

”Lord Laine is Lady’s Champion; you may freely explore this place without restriction. I have already opened up the chapel; at the moment Lord Laine stepped into the cathedral, the Lady passed a secret oracle; please, Lord Laine, Lady Surya, Miss Sylvia, you must partake in the Holy Communion at noon in the chapel,” said the Grand Priest with a smile: ”But this is a secret, please do not announce it.”

”We will obey the Lady’s command!”

Holy Communion?! Laine was still calm, but Surya and Sylvia were already stunned, the two female knights could hardly believe it, Laine actually had the privilege to partake in the Holy Communion at the Holy Grail Cathedral?!

What is this place? This is the Holy Grail Cathedral, one of Brittania’s three holy sites!

The female knights looked at Laine incredulously. Surya’s mind raced with many thoughts; the duchess’s daughter’s political sensitivity made her realize the significance of the Lake Fairy passing down the oracle for Laine to partake in the Holy Communion at the Holy Grail Cathedral.

She had heard of the round table meeting and of course knew what Laine was facing now.

While they were visiting the Holy Grail Cathedral, the King and Dukes were shut inside Kulona Palace, likely endlessly arguing over how to define this Knightly War, how to assess Laine’s merits and punishments, and how to divide this ”pyrrhic victory.”

And at this moment, the Lake Fairy passed down the oracle for Laine to accept the Holy Communion, what does this mean?

Even though this was a secret oracle, the Goddess’s attitude was also evident.

The female knights felt increasingly unable to see through the calm and composed man before them. Why did the Lady favor him so much? Why could he complete the Holy Grail Trial at just twenty-four? Why, as the adopted son of a small Lord, could his talent exceed even his meticulously nurtured brother’s, causing his brother to keep him in mind?

Why did his appearance lead to the Lady personally passing down an oracle?

And what role would she play during the Holy Communion, having been invited herself? Why did the Lady include both herself and Sylvia in the Holy Communion?

The female knights had one question after another.

After a brief visit, the planned trip to the Lion Ring Racecourse had to be postponed; Laine and the others had to wait briefly in a small meeting room, and at noon they would partake in the Holy Communion at the Holy Grail Cathedral.

Laine found a comfortable position on the soft sofa and sat down; he seemed perfectly at ease. On the contrary, the Holy Grail Knight was extremely composed: ”Are all the young people like this now?”

”Huh?” Surya adjusted her short skirt slightly; she paused for a moment before realizing Laine was referring to Fiona.

”That child has been arrogant since childhood,” Surya thought for a moment and showed a gentle smile: ”In one’s growth, people always go through some of these experiences, I suppose you understand too.”

Seeing this, Laine nodded, knowing that people always have a rebellious phase, he was the same.

”Just that Fiona has lacked fatherly and motherly love since childhood; to avoid the chaos, she spent most of her time in Kulona, and only had limited time to reunite with her grandfather and father. To compensate her, Duke Theodoric always did his best to fulfill her requirements. As time went on, she thought she was very... remarkable,” Surya hesitated for a moment before speaking about a past event, ”About two or three years ago, when we met at a banquet, she really liked a small bear toy I had. I couldn’t resist her pestering and gave it to her. The next day, in the garden outside the banquet...”

”You found the bear toy shredded?” Laine interrupted her with a smile; the man started to understand.

Earlier, Fiona wanted it because it was Surya’s possession, and after getting it, the bear toy became her own possession. Once it became her own, the bear toy was worthless. Given that girl’s character, it was inevitable it would be torn apart and discarded.

”Yes.” The female knight sighed softly, her gentle character made her not know what else to say.

Laine was also thinking.

From Fiona, one can see the common maladies of Brittania’s young nobles today: arrogance, self-importance, and prejudice.

If viewed from a certain perspective, Surya and Fiona were both equally pampered princesses in their families, but Duke Francois pampered Surya correctly, while Duke Theodoric spoiled Fiona, resulting in these two girls displaying completely different personalities.

”Speaking of which, Miss Surya likes bears?” Laine didn’t want to continue this topic anymore; he suddenly smiled and said.

”Huh? Ugh... yes, don’t you find bears cute...” The female knight immediately realized she had exposed her preferences unintentionally.

A blush spread rapidly over the fair, pink skin.

”So, Surya, you like bear toys? How interesting~” Just then, dazzling white light appeared in the small meeting room, and a charming silhouette emerged in the light and shadows.

The Lake Fairy descended!
