Warhammer Divine Throne

She certainly has her own purpose for coming at this time.

”You seem surprised that I came to see you now, Champion of the Lady,” Mogiana noticed Laine’s confusion, and there was a hint of awkwardness in the voice of the Lake God Witch.

Not long ago, she received a communication from the Lady of the Lake.

Under normal circumstances, the Lady of the Lake frequently communicates with her worldly spokesperson, and Mogiana was not particularly concerned, as it usually involved handling mundane affairs.

However, this time was markedly different; the oracle from the Lady of the Lake had never focused on one person so intently.

This made Mogiana feel very strange.

After arriving in Kulona, the Lake God Witch finally met Laine today.

Indeed, there was something different. Compared to their last brief encounter, Mogiana could feel a very pure and powerful energy continuously swirling around the Holy Grail Knight before her.

This was not a blessing from the Lady; it was the individual’s own power.

So, what exactly was his essence? To find out, Mogiana specifically inquired of the Lady of the Lake, but the answer this time was very vague: Keep this secret, you need to find the answer on your own.

Thus, she came.

”I am indeed surprised, Your Highness Mogiana.” Laine clearly had no intention of initiating questions and merely waited patiently for Mogiana’s inquiry.

”The dark prophecy has plagued me for many nights and days.” Mogiana hesitated for a moment before finally deciding to speak the truth: ”No matter how I pray, no matter how I try to shake it off, the endless darkness clings relentlessly, in dreams and deep within my heart, always there is a face full of death and coldness watching me, perhaps my end is near.”

”Because of a prophecy?” Laine also furrowed his brows.

”Yes, the Lady told me that perhaps you could help me. I didn’t believe it before, but I can feel a very comforting energy circulating around you, forcing even such terrifying evil to momentarily avert its gaze.” Mogiana nodded, the beautiful Lake God Witch frankly said to Laine: ”Since the lady mentioned it, Champion of the Lady, I need your help.”

”It is my honor, Your Highness Mogiana.” Laine stood up, and a powerful vortex of subspace spiritual energy began to form around him: ”It’s getting late, let us begin.”

”Please close your eyes, Your Highness Mogiana, and relax your mind. Share your prophecy with me. I swear in the name of the Lady that I will not harm you.”

”I hope so.” The Lake God Witch fixed her gaze on the man in front of her for a moment, then closed her eyes.

Mogiana felt Laine bonded with her, and then she was engulfed by the surging spiritual vortex.

......

The next day, in the morning, when the first light of the late autumn dawn rose in the sky, Laine and others in the Holy Grail Cathedral finished their Holy Communion. The Holy Communion, blessed by the Lady of the Lake, was exceptionally sumptuous, making an excellent start.

Then, the Holy Grail Knight mounted his pure-blooded Elf Warhorse, and with the company of the Antre Brothers and Sisters, they departed from the Holy Grail Cathedral and rode through the broad streets toward the Kulona Royal Palace amid numerous crowds.

The national funeral for Angxi Desmond had concluded three days earlier; the young marquis who died without an intact body had neither his armor nor sword found, and the coffin contained some of his old clothes.

However, Laine did not laugh; rather, the Holy Grail Knight gained a deeper understanding of the world’s cruelty.

For most of the fallen knights and soldiers, it was also like this.

As they rode towards the Kulona Royal Palace, passing through the large blue gates, the great nobles were already inside waiting, with the knighting ceremony prepared, and the king, along with dukes and many knights, awaited to witness the event.

Fully armed, Laine had already dismounted, walking confidently through the crowd.

At the palace entrance, Knight King Richard and the dukes were waiting.

”Look, it’s him, the Divine Chosen Champion of the Lady, Laine Macado!”

”Yes, yes! It’s said that he performed excellently in the knightly war, destroying the Ten Thousand Demon Rock!”

”He defeated a Four-armed Bull Demon in a one-on-one duel!”

”Macado? I’ve never heard of that surname. Wait, isn’t he the human hero Laine of the minstrel’s tales? In the stories, wasn’t he the White Wolf Knight?”

”That you don’t know? Laine Macado was originally a White Wolf Knight, but in a place like the White Wolf Knight Order, full of arrogance and brutality, how could he fully display his talents? It was the Lady who noticed his talents and bestowed trials upon him.”

”So, that’s why he defeated the Barbarian Chief in the champion duel?” Many pondered: ”Praise the Lady!”

”Praise the Lady!”

As the military music played, Laine approached Richard amidst the whispers of the crowd, kneeling silently.

By taking a step back, the Knight King’s perception of this young Holy Grail Knight improved slightly, though he quickly remembered the costs he must bear, and the good impression vanished just as quickly. The king coughed twice and began his admonition.

”Ladies and gentlemen, we are delighted to conduct this grand knighting ceremony today, awarding Baron Laine Macado the Second-level Iris Medal for his significant contributions in this war.”

”Baron Laine Macado demonstrated valor and wisdom in this knightly war, alongside steadfast faith in the Lady worthy of all Brittania knights’ emulation...”

The king’s speech was a bit slow and wordy, forcing Laine to remain kneeling before him, but the Holy Grail Knight remained patient, silently keeping his head bowed.

Meanwhile, the Holy Grail Knight received a certain message, initiating his spiritual energy supply.

Standing aside to observe, the Lake God Witch Mogiana suddenly heard a voice from the void: ”Mogiana, my emissary?”

”Lady?” Mogiana immediately realized the Lady of the Lake was speaking with her: ”My Lady?”

The Lake God Witch felt astonished; why would the Lady of the Lake converse with her at this moment?

But before she could process her shock, the Lady of the Lake had already taken control of her body, a more powerful, more sacred, and more solemn aura emerged in Mogiana: ”Laine Macado, step forward!”

”What?!” An uproar erupted within the palace.

The Lake God Witch had directly issued an order, ignoring the king.

Richard was still continuing his lengthy speech: ”In this war...”

The king’s complexion gradually turned pale, realizing something, his aged beard trembling slightly: ”Your Highness Mogiana? This is against protocol...”

The palace fell into silence, everyone watching what transpired.

Laine stood up, then kneeled before the Lake God Witch, or rather, the Lady of the Lake: ”Yes, my Lady!”

”Has the Lady manifested?!” The palace echoed with gasps of amazement; most of the knights immediately knelt, though a few hesitated.

Could that truly be the Lady?

”It’s the Lady, no mistake!” Bohemond first knelt, the Red Dragon Duke visibly stirred, kneeling first, tears welling in his eyes: ”After thirty-two years, I finally witness the Lady’s manifestation again!”

”Kneel quickly, my daughter, my son, that’s the Lady! The Lady has descended!” Francois also immediately knelt.

At the same time, the present Holy Grail Knights all knelt in succession, each feeling that reverence and resonance of strength from the heart.

With the Holy Grail Knights’ acknowledgment, the remaining knights hesitated no longer, all kneeling to honor their beloved Goddess, expressing their reverence.

Richard’s face turned various shades, feeling as if he’d been slapped.

His every subtle move and hidden agenda were laid bare before the Lady of the Lake.

Through this method, the Lady expressed her dissatisfaction! He must kneel now; he could not even resist the Lake God Witch, let alone the Lady herself?

Richard kneeled on one knee, gritting his teeth, saying: ”I... My Lady?”

The Lady of the Lake paid no heed to the king; instead, she continued announcing her decision.

”I hereby bestow upon you the title of ’Pious.’ Henceforth, no more ’Great Hammer’ Laine Macado, only ’Pious’ Laine Macado!”
