The First Store System

Chapter 998: Similar!

”The Shadow Hunter will always be loyal to me, but what if the Hunters force me to break the contract?” Fidel asked.

”The Cosmos Contract Beast is in charge of the contract, so it canʼt be broken by force,” Aakesh said, which surprised Fidel.

Fidel exhaled a sigh of relief. Even the outsiders were bound by contracts overseen by the Cosmos Contract Beast. Only the signer, acting of their own free will, could renege on the agreement. Others would be considered to be harming the trade if they made forceful attempts, and the overseer would punish them.

Since things were like this, Fidel didnʼt need to worry about the Hunters anymore.

Fidel thanked and praised Aakesh, saying, ”You do things best.”

”Since I donʼt need to worry about the Hunters anymore, initiate the taming battle,” Fidel requested.

Aakesh nodded, and since he already had the card in his hands, he tapped twice on the pattern. He then returned the card to Fidel.

As soon as Fidel touched the card, he found his surroundings changing, and soon he appeared in a vast area, with the sun in the sky and a large shadow forming behind him.

It doesnʼt matter for how long Fidel battled inside the taming area, as time was frozen inside. Soon after he grabbed the card, he returned to the store.

A smile spread across his face as the battle went his way. Since the Shadow Hunter was an early Divine Transformation and Fidelʼs level had also regressed to that level, the creature was invisible to him. As its characteristic stated, Fidelʼs level at least needed to be early Divine Being to see it.

The battle was difficult, but Fidel succeeded in the end, trumping his opponent. He was a peak Sacred Monarch, so what condition hadnʼt he seen in his life?

Fidel then followed the next steps, and soon the beast was his to summon.

Fidel couldnʼt control his excitement, despite being so old, because of all the difficult situations due to the Shadow Hunter.

The next moment, he activated the card, and a beast appeared inside the store. The Shadow Hunter wasnʼt very large, like many other top predators. Since the one summoned by Fidel was only a newborn, it was around the size of a puppy.

When it opened its eyes for the first time, there was nothing but coldness in them. But the next moment, a hint of gentleness appeared in them as the pair of eyes stared at Fidel.

Fidel smiled upon seeing the beast. He then returned it to the space inside the card.

Since Aakesh was an early Divine Transformation, he couldnʼt see the beast, but as the system was there, its characteristic meant nothing.

Time flew by.

The system made Riddley and Fred leave after their allotted hour was up.

The mother and son pair were discussing their battles as they left the room and came across Fidel sitting there.

”You are back,ʼ Riddley commented, approaching him.

Fidel nodded and then told his wife and son about the Shadow Hunter. Riddley had the same reaction as Fidel when she learned about its characteristic.

”Tell me, you didnʼt tame it,” Riddley interrupted Fidel and asked with her eyes wide open. At the same time, a bad feeling engulfed her heart, and soon she understood the source of that feeling when Fidel summoned the creature for them.

Before Riddley could overreact, Fidel told her about the contract, calming her down.

”You should also get one,” Fidel suggested to his family.

”Do our family has something with Shadow element?” Riddley couldnʼt help but ask out loud when she also summoned an ultimate quality beast with a shadow element.

Similar to Fidel, it was her first summon. For people of her level, these beasts didnʼt add much value, so getting any beast other than one of ultimate quality was a rare issue for them.

Shadow King Wyrm was from the other group, and as it had the word ”King” in its name, its ability was there. Between a Shadow Hunter and a Shadow King Wyrm, the wyrm would always come out on top, but in the case of Fidel and Riddley, the situation was slightly different.

The Shadow Hunter summoned by Fidel had the passive stealth ability, while the one with Riddley had no such characteristic. It showed on the price set by the store. There was a massive gap of two thousand supreme stones between them.

Riddley then turned around only to see the gloating face of her husband. She couldnʼt help but become frustrated with him.

”Go ahead, summon a beast without characteristic since you are your motherʼs son,” Fidel mocked Fred since he didnʼt have the guts to say these words directly to Riddley.

A vein popped out in her forehead, but she controlled herself and said, ”Summon a beast that will beat your father for seven thousand times straight since you are my son.”
