Chapter 985: ”Am I in Danger?”

Ayrielʼs hands were like the strike of a thunderbolt as they slammed on the creatureʼs head, throwing it down.

Its wings fluttered as it floated up immediately. The Chaotic Wyrmʼs eyes seemed to glow redder, and it charged at Ayriel.

Even though Ayriel was only a peak Divine Lord at the moment, the skills she had in her arsenal were not only great in numbers but also in quality.

A silver, transparent barrier suddenly covered the creature as Ayriel snapped her fingers. The next moment, a silver flame emerged at the tip of her finger.

It automatically flew from Ayrielʼs hands and toward the barrier.

The Chaotic Wyrm sensed extreme danger, so it raised its claws and attacked the barrier.

Cracks began to emerge and spread, but unfortunately, the barrier still survived. The silver flame flew inside the barrier and engulfed the creature before it could launch another attack.

Cry!

The wyrm cried out in pain as an unbearable wave of pain attacked it.

The creatureʼs rage knew no bounds at that moment as it summoned a vortex filled with chaotic energy, devouring not only the silver flame but also the damaged barrier.

The energy in the air slightly thinned out, but Ayriel had no time to ponder over it. The wyrm suddenly disappeared from its spot and appeared behind Ayriel.

Ayrielʼs eyes trembled violently as the creature used the Shadow Step by creating its shadow using the sun in the sky.

Its claws came smashing toward Ayriel. Ayriel had nothing in mind other than to dodge the strike.

The creatureʼs claws were engulfed in chaotic energy. It was another skill of the Chaotic Wyrms, Chaotic Touch.

Ayriel succeeded in dodging, but the next moment, she stood gawking there in shock as she saw the scene in front of her.

The area where she was a moment earlier had now turned into a void, bringing an overflow of chaotic energy into the surroundings.

The chaotic energy wasnʼt weightless, but it was one of the heaviest substances in the Multiverse. Ayrielʼs veins began to pop out as if someone was pressing her beneath a giant mountain.

The Chaotic Wyrmʼs condition was no better, as it also couldnʼt handle so much chaotic energy in the surroundings at once. The only saving grace for it was that it had a better physique than Ayriel and also had a slight control over the element of Chaos.

The wyrm could see it getting into an advantageous situation when suddenly the space around Ayriel began to crack.

The next moment, a horrible aura that made even the wyrm kneel began to permeate the area, and Ayriel was the source.

Ayrielʼs eyes had turned pitch black while her back began to straighten up. The weight of the Chaotic energy didnʼt seem to matter anymore, and an indifferent expression spread across her face.

The Chaotic Wyrm couldnʼt even dare to look directly at Ayriel, for it believed it would be its death.

Ayriel calmly stepped forward in the air and proceeded toward the wyrm. She seemed to be unconscious and blind as she stepped right into the void.

The void should have devoured Ayriel, but instead, it welcomed her. The aura emanating from her turned even more terrifying as several cracks appeared all over the area.

When Ayriel was only one step away from the wyrm, it suddenly kneeled, asking for mercy.

Ayrielʼs eyes seemed to have no emotion as they stared at the creature. She then raised her hands and brought them down. At the same time, a flame darker than even the abyss appeared in her hands.

The creature seemed to be like a piece of paper in front of the flame, as it took even less than one-billionth of a second to turn the wyrm into nothingness.

***

Ayrielʼs entire back was wet with sweat as she found herself back in the store. She looked confused and shocked since her last memory was her veins almost bursting under the pressure of the chaotic energy.

Aakesh, on the other hand, looked surprised at Ayriel.

Ayrielʼs cultivation wasnʼt enough to awaken the Limitless physique, as even the lowest cultivation level required was the mid-phase of the third dimension.

If Ayriel had been able to remember the scene, she would have known that she exploded into a blood cloud soon after the death of the creature.

”What happened?” Ayriel asked. For some reason, her intuition told her that Aakesh knew the answer.

Aakeshʼs face returned to its usual indifference as he told Ayriel about the scene of overwhelming power. The Chaotic Wyrms were already creatures that stood at the top of the food chain, so killing one of them in less than a billionth of a second while being at the same level of cultivation was nothing but a display of overwhelming power.

”Why did it happen to me? Has someone very powerful taken shelter in my body?” Ayriel frowned.

Ayriel knew that she didnʼt have such overwhelming power, so she could only place it on someone extremely powerful who was taking shelter in her body.

”Only you are the reason behind this, others have nothing to do with your overwhelming power.”

”You only need to know that you have something that might terrorize the entire Multiverse, so you should discover it on your own rather than hear it from me,” Aakesh stated.

Vritrasura was born in the third dimension and to rulers of the Asura race, so he already had suitable cultivation to wake up the physique. Ayriel, on the other hand, would die instantly, if even one percent of her physique woke up.

Aakesh wanted to see how far Ayriel would go and if she would face the same end as Vritrasura.

As for the Multiverse, Aakesh didnʼt worry about it. The Devas were the born protectors of the Multiverse; it was their duty to keep it safe, not his.

Ayriel wanted to ask Aakesh, but when she saw that he seemed to be in no mood to answer the question, she stopped.

”Please answer this; am I in danger?” Ayriel asked after a pause of several seconds.

Aakesh didnʼt respond to the question, but instead, diverted the topic by informing Ayriel about what she needed to do to sign the taming contract with the Chaotic Wyrm.
