The First Store System

Chapter 972: The Black-Spotted Demon(2)

Aakesh saw Joshuaʼs hesitation, but since he didnʼt care, he turned and left the room. Even if Joshua didnʼt feed the egg his blood, he would still have to pay the hatching cost, so there was nothing to worry about.

Joshua fell into a dilemma as his heart was asking him to do what the store owner said, but his mind was warning him not to be too quick in making his decision.

The next moment, a surprised expression appeared on his face after he found that the store owner had disappeared from the room. Since he couldnʼt make a decision, Joshua decided to have a conversation with the store owner.

Joshua wanted to ask Aakesh when he suddenly saw Aakesh pointing his finger at the board. He followed Aakeshʼs finger and found the rule, ”The customer is safe inside the store!”

As if the statement were medicine, the feeling of danger disappeared from his heart.

Joshua didnʼt waste a second and fed a drop of his blood to the egg.

As his black blood fell on the egg, a blue light engulfed the egg. In no time, the egg turned into a transparent item as a creature coiled around itself.

Joshua found his breathing becoming rough, his eyes almost popping out in astonishment as he recognized the creature.

”Shadow Basilisk!” Joshua couldnʼt help but exclaim in shock.

Joshua wanted to scream in joy, but suddenly the egg began to turn into light particles, and soon after, a card appeared in his hands.

Joshua felt the weight of the card in his hands as the front contained the illustration of the beast and its details.

Name: Shadow Basilisk

Type: Beast

Race: Serpent

Rarity: Legendary

Attribute: Darkness

Cultivation: Early Divine Being

Ability: Shadow Slip: The Shadow Basilisk can move through shadows and darkness, allowing it to avoid all attacks

Card Description: The Shadow Basilisk is a mysterious and deadly creature known for its ability to move through shadows and darkness. Its dark attribute allows it to strike with deadly precision and avoid all attacks. Its venom can cause blindness and temporary invisibility. This card can be used to summon a powerful monster onto the battlefield, capable of dealing massive damage and avoiding all attacks. Use it wisely.]

The Shadow Basilisk was a deadly predatory species in the Sacred Dimension. It had venomous fangs and black eyes that seemed to devour all light; its body was long and slender. It could move through shadows and darkness, becoming nearly invisible in the dark. Its body was covered with hard, black scales that absorbed light and made it look menacing.

In the illustration, the basilisk had its eyes closed since it was only a newborn. Even though the Shadow Basilisk in Joshuaʼs hands was of legendary quality, it only had one skill, and that too was defensive.

It was a talent that all Shadow Basilisks inherited from birth.

The Shadow Basilisks were creatures that were known for their terrifying killing abilities, so how could Joshua not be excited when the egg hatched into one?

”The card will dissolve when you want to bring the creature out,” Aakesh suddenly announced.

The card wasnʼt for eggs hatched by the system, so it would dissolve, and the owner of the egg had to create space for the beast.

Joshua nodded, as he already had a living ring with it. It was an item containing inhabitable space inside it.

Joshua purchased a livable space for whatever creature the egg gave birth to because he had been planning to hatch the egg ever since he received it.

”Can I bring the creature out?” Joshua asked Aakesh. The earlier arrogance in his voice was nowhere to be found this time.

If it were the earlier Joshua, he would have immediately brought the basilisk out, not caring for the store ownerʼs reaction.

Aakesh nodded and gave his permission since the newborn Shadow Basilisk would only be a few meters long, and after the quests got completed, the space inside the store had expanded.

Joshua nodded and then thought in his mind to bring the creature out of the card.

The next moment, the card in his hands exploded into light, and soon it began to gather in the form of a basilisk.

It wasnʼt long before the light particles combined to form the creature Shadow Basilisk.

Joshua couldnʼt control himself as he rushed at the creature and grabbed it.

The next moment, its cold and brutal eyes opened. It appeared as though the creature was waiting for Joshua to touch it.

As soon as the creature felt Joshuaʼs touch, the gruesome emotion in its eyes slightly subsided. Joshua was like its mother, but soon those eyes turned into its usual brutal expression.

”Thank you, store owner,” Joshua said gratefully as the arrival of the Shadow Basilisk lifted his spirits after a string of failures to obtain a recipe from the pill.

Since the Shadow Basilisk was a creature that had hatched from the egg brought by the customer from outside, it couldnʼt be taken to Panagea like the beasts summoned from the device.

Joshua placed it in his new home and entered the portal room, as there were some vacant virtual portals left in the room.

Tap! Tap! Tap!

Aakesh was relaxing in his chair when the sound of footsteps from outside the store opened his eyes. Aakesh turned in that direction and found an unfamiliar face entering the store.

It was a male Vurron who had come to the store after gathering enough courage.

His steps werenʼt stable, as the rumors around the mysterious store owner had become too terrifying. Every person that shared the story of that dayʼs killings would add their own version, and so there were many stories that were spread across Seventeenth Street, each more terrifying than the last.

The man looked around with a slightly frightened face as he tried to make sense of what was around him. The man didnʼt recognize the stones used in floors, but he could sense that these were expensive materials.

”Hello, store owner,” The man greeted Aakesh. His voice trembled after seeing those indifferent eyes of the store owner looking directly at him.

Aakesh nodded and waited for the man to ask about the storeʼs products, which he did after some time.
