Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 149: Chapter 13: An Overwhelming Victory and the Reluctant Return Home of Hill

”People have already started not getting up to resurrect!” the Witness said in a tone that suggested they had it coming, ”There are more and more people lying on the ground! Lost too many levels, eh?”

”Actually, it’s not a big deal, they have their excuses!” the Recorder also said with schadenfreude, ”The brave overlords of Doomsday finally succumbed to the allure of money.

If it weren’t for the sturdiness of the expensive Lord’s Mansion of Black and White Path, after Snow Cloud Peak and their team were wiped out, they would have had to look elsewhere!”

Hill sat on the wooden chair, hugging his knees, thinking: Could this be considered saving myself?

He got caught in a chicken-and-egg style loop, after all, if he hadn’t dealt with the players, he might not have been called down here by the young masters of this place.

In the end, he decided that he had made the right choice. With Hill’s insatiable curiosity, as long as there was such a place, he would definitely find a way to take a look.

Moreover, he was extremely curious about the Earth Deity with a Demonic Aura.

Did the entity die here fighting a demon, leaving a mixed aura, or did it join forces with the demon and get killed by other deities?

The Earth Deity, who single-handedly created the beast tide, always piqued Hill’s interest. He had a feeling that, with or without players, he was bound to seek out the truth behind the beast tide.

”The ultimate ability has been used again!” the Witness exclaimed with excitement, ”Magicians truly are the chosen profession! What if someone could gather a thousand-player raid? Would they sweep across the world?”

”An ultimate every 15 minutes?” the Recorder almost seemed to ask if he had lost his mind, ”That’s with a front row of Knights and two rows of Swordsmen to protect them, that’s why they dare to strut around so boldly!

This skill is so powerful! From now on, targeting Space-Time Warlocks in level clearing should be prioritized even above Priests!

An attack that ignores shield defense to penetrate!

It’s only in such a chaotic battle that, despite its strength, it can still be tolerated.

In the arena, who wouldn’t brave a hail of bullets to take them down first!”

”As for the arena, it’s about whether the Magician can take out the opposing healer first or gets taken down themselves! And can he even go for that shield? Such a long cooldown would definitely mean the healer gets targeted first!” the Witness said with a smirk, ”Besides, Space-Time Warlocks are really rare! I wonder how many new ones there will be this time. These large guilds should be willing to pay top dollar for recruits, right? Moreover, most people can at most become a transport hub, right?

Honestly, if any guild could afford over a thousand combative Space-Time Warlocks, then the other professions would only be more numerous!

I reckon that no boss playing the game would spend that much money.

Let’s just think of it as a beautiful dream!”

Both were quite cheerful, even the camera capturing the scene conveyed a relaxed atmosphere.

Unless Doomsday could instantly take out these 300,000 people, the scales of victory have already tipped completely towards Black and White Path.

Compared to their initial completely Neutral stance, after experiencing the aftermath of the Doomsday wave that nearly killed Hill along with them, they had started to sit a little unevenly.

The moment Young Master rushed out from the Revival Point, those from Doomsday who had fallen refused to get back up, the remaining ones turned into streaks of light and logged off.

Hill had once heard players discussing that logging off during battle was equivalent to dying once.

But they preferred to end it themselves rather than stick around, struggle, and give a few more kills to Young Master and his team.

With the Great Shield in hand, Young Master stood dazed among the streaks of light on the ground, his arms drooping dejectedly, ”I’m number one on the level leaderboard! Can’t you just let me flaunt it a bit?”

The Knights that emerged behind him pushed him to the side, who had the time for someone standing in the way in the middle of the path, with over a hundred thousand more waiting to come out!

The corpses of Doomsday scattered across the ground did not vanish; the people continuing to come out were cautious and stood by the door of the Revival Point.

Hill frowned and glanced outside, roughly tens of thousands of Mage players had circled around to the left behind of the Forest Array, with the lolis and shotas of Youth Journey of the Wenjian World chasing after them.

Hill quickly descended into the underground chamber and summoned back the Legendary Puppet that had been patrolling the Forest Array, swiftly packing up the Wood Element, disbanding the Earth Elementals, and lastly holding tightly to the Beech Tree Heart, commanding it to retract all its spiritual power, before asking the Earth Element Lord to protect overhead.

”** Alluring Rain of the City!” followed by the Recorder’s curse, meteorites gushed towards Hill from above, revealing the fangs of these Fire and Earth System dual-cultivating Mages at the last moment.

Hill, hidden underground, could even feel the burning flames on the meteorites crashing down.

”** Alluring Rain of the City,” Hill heard Young Master’s roar above, ”What are you thinking! Use a Blizzard! Knights, follow me up to hold them back!”

”They’ve been held off,” said the Earth Element Lord wrapped protectively around the chamber, his voice echoing hollowly, ”A charge of over ten thousand Knights directly, probably killed off a few thousand.”

”Why should I be the one buried at the very bottom!” the pitiful cry of Young Master resonated from above.

”Can’t lose the top ranking after just a day!” Hill remembered this voice tinged with amusement; it was Sui Chen from Black Rose, right?

It seemed like both their guilds were hunting down the last remnants of the Alluring Rain of the City family, while others were still guarding the corpses of Doomsday.

But Hill had not expected that Alluring Rain of the City would actually try to kill him at the end, in a bid to settle a grudge.

With no idea where Hill was actually hiding, they could only cover the area comprehensively. Many Mages behind were cursing, many of them turned red from killing their own teammates through friendly fire.
