Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 136: Chapter 7: A Minor Incident Before the War Officially Begins

The God of Time and Space really was very powerful. After all, he could be considered an innate Rule God, having first gathered his Divine Soul in The River of Time and Space, kindled the Divine Fire, and then formed a divine body in the mortal world.

The reason His path to divinity was so easy was because He only needed wide-ranging believers; His demands for faith were minimal.

The reason why Rule Gods proclaim their Name of God is mostly just to ascend to the starry sky and build their Divine Kingdom—they hardly care about the little bit of Faith Power from humans.

The simplest way to attract the attention of these deities is to append a wrong name behind their divinity.

A thunderous gift pack awaits you.

To them, false gods who wanted to contest their control over the rules were the most important to guard against.

Moreover, the God of Time and Space was the spokesperson for The River of Time and Space. In the world of elves and dwarves, it was the same river, so dwarves and elves could only revere Him as their deity.

But the Goddess of the Spring, who was also a Rule God by all accounts, had somehow managed to do something such that aside from the human world, elves and dwarves actually had their own water gods, and She was utterly powerless to do anything, managing only to eke out an existence in the human world, practically becoming a faith-based god.

In the end, She could only scrape by under the dominion of the God of Nobility and the God of Monarchy, who themselves had become gods through faith.

Hill had always restrained his curiosity, telling himself not to pursue what secrets the God of Nobility and others had hidden away before becoming legendary.

Despite the God of Nobility and the Goddess of the Spring now having to hide in their Divine Kingdoms, Hill figured that even Fran, let alone himself, could easily be crushed by them.

Adrian would occasionally mention some matters of the Mage Association, saying most mages believed that this God of Time and Space was truly worthy of a mage’s respect, finding nothing disagreeable about Him at all.

If they really had to choose something to believe in, many mages were willing to offer Him a bit of their wide-ranging faith.

Hill continued to slowly cast spells to replenish the Forest Array’s Attack Power.

The legendary Water Elemental suddenly contacted Hill, ”They want to open the door. Why? Should we open it?”

”Go ahead and open it!” Hill quickly said, ”I’m very safe, don’t worry. They have sent hundreds of thousands more people, enough to hold off the Demon Army.

They probably want to make a preemptive strike.”

”Alright then! Humans are truly peculiar.”

The Earth Element Lord suddenly spoke up slowly, ”Then why do they want me to dig tunnels? I’ve already gone quite a distance!”

Hill had long noticed this lord following the direction from which demons emerged, but since it was a matter tens of thousands of meters beneath the surface, he didn’t interfere.

”They probably want to launch a surprise attack.” That was all Hill could say, for he didn’t understand what the players wanted to do. Were they perhaps trying to close the gateway to the Abyss?

But such gateways of illusion were fixed in existence, then opened for a period of time. The space torn open by the God of Nobility was merely helping push the door.

Hill felt that his simple nature just couldn’t keep up with these players’ wild ideas.

He was the sort of person who, when playing instances, would only fight the small creatures and take the main road, completely failing to understand the joy of finding shortcuts, avoiding all minions, and standing directly in front of the boss. Even if one found this shortcut, it required much more effort than if they had just completed the instance directly.

Since he couldn’t figure it out, all he could do was wait and see the outcome.

A few players walked up to Hill’s little forest, and Hill spotted Romantic Drunk Red Dust, once again accompanied by a bevy of young ladies.

”So Hill is a Magician, huh! And a Wood Element one at that.” Qu Qingyan, wearing a flowing white robe, said, ”This place is really beautiful. Did Hill plant these roses?”

”I think it was Miss Carl who planted them before, right?” Fenmo Wuxin said, ”Everything died when it fell down, but Hill somehow used some magic, and they grew back.”

Several young ladies took out a large parasol, opened it, and placed it beneath a large tree.

A Female Swordsman clad in black said decisively, ”Let’s eat here, there are no flying corpses. I’m exhausted.” She stretched lazily, displaying her slender waist, and patted the tree next to her, ”Living trees are really useful, kept all the flying off.”

”I called Old Age Striking King and Cunlü over.” Qu Qingyan said, ”Romantic, what food did you bring? Hurry up and get it out.”

After typing to summon others, she looked up at Romantic Drunk Red Dust, who was still ogling the beautiful waist, and said through gritted teeth, ”The only reason you’re here is that you brought a lot of food. Put down the food before you go gaga!”

The Female Swordsman laughed, glanced over at Romantic Drunk Red Dust’s face contentedly, then started slowly looking down from his chest area.

Her gaze stopped at Romantic’s waist, slowly circling around it, ”Hmm~ feel free to look~ as long as you let me have a peek too.”

”Hahaha.” Fenmo Wuxin started laughing, ”Spare him! He’s blushing.”

”The thing that satisfies me most about this game,” the Female Swordsman spoke playfully, ”is that you can tell who’s the real deal and who’s faking it right away.”

Romantic Drunk Red Dust sheepishly took out all the food from his pack and set it up. Upon seeing Old Age Striking King and Liu Liu arrive, he quickly slipped away.

”Why’d he leave so fast?” Old Age Striking King plopped down on the spread blanket, ”I’m exhausted.”

”He was teasing Sister Night, but got outplayed,” Qu Qingyan also leaned back against a cushion, smoothing out her robe.

”Him?” Old Age Striking King said disdainfully, ”He can’t even handle Cunlü, who’s all talk, and he thinks he can flirt with Sister Night?”

”If I wasn’t married, I wouldn’t be just all talk!” Cunlü grumbled as she laid down, ”Come on, can’t you unload faster? Even playing a game is exhausting.”
