Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 134: Chapter 6 Kill that Demon

Hill called back several Wood Elements into his amulet and gently placed his hand on the wooden core. He slowly sank into his sea of spirit, letting himself and the beech merge into one.

He could feel that very distinct black silhouette. It moved so fast that it nearly instantaneously circled the entire hillside.

Relative to others, the demon wasn’t very big, about the same height as a human knight.

The first time Hill learned about the existence of demons, he was actually quite panicked.

He had almost read every book available that introduced demons.

Knowledge of demons was forbidden to spread, and the books in the hands of mages were very veiled. Hill could only make simple judgments from the calls for ”Pazuzu” or ”Aldinak.”

Although demons didn’t appear often, their odd shapes, the large number of flying demons that kept appearing, and the words they frequently shouted led Hill to speculate in secret that there might be some connection to the first layer of the Abyss, known as the Plains of the Infinite Abyss, Pazunia.

In Hill’s world, where various world rules were incomplete, deities were even more scarce.

The Elf Deity System and Dwarf Deity System were said to be comprehensive, but humans had no detailed knowledge of them.

Mages who traveled the world also rarely passed on any news.

In the information Hill had, it was mentioned that the mages associated with these two races had been told not to let humans mention their gods openly.

In the stories passed down by word of mouth among mages, once the God of Nobility ascended to the starry sky, the other two deity systems directly refused human worshippers.

There were many mages secretly searching for the reasons behind this. Those legendary or higher-level mages who roamed the starry sky and suddenly died might have found out something they shouldn’t have.

In this nascent world still completing its laws, for some unknown reason, it had made contact with the lowest level of the Abyss.

Hill could only hope that no powerful Demon Sovereign had taken notice of this world yet.

After all, there were so few humans that they might not even catch the eye of a monarch. Moreover, for a world that might have only been emerging for a million years, powerful demons wouldn’t find it easy to enter.

The attacks that occurred every few tens of thousands of years were very likely just demons from Pazunia breaking in for a quick feast, at most involving a few high-level demons who were fortress lords of Lord Level.

Hill just hoped, before this world perfected its laws, it wouldn’t catch the attention of Lord Wu’an Grazt.

Hill watched the demon running in circles; this might be the first time it had encountered players, that strange breed, and it was still dazedly observing.

Hill had to work very hard to ignore the roars and wails of hundreds of thousands of players.

Those who had initially jumped down had unhesitatingly resurrected themselves.

They would rather join previous players in shouting not to jump anymore than wait a while to see if the ice cover would break before resurrecting.

Moreover, this was a demon who didn’t like icy and snowy conditions. Hill observed it trying to stay in Adrian’s grocery store several times.

Hill could imagine just how cold it was up there; even after so long, Snow Cloud Peak was still shouting, ”Freeze! Freeze! For those with bad aim, unleash a blizzard!”

Hill watched the fast-moving demon, which would suddenly stop and change direction repeatedly. He guessed the players really had started casting blizzards.

Taking advantage of when the demon ran to the farthest point from Hill, he would slowly release a few Dense Forest Stars above. Gradually, almost every tree was covered with densely packed little leaves.

After being driven mad by the chaotic spells of the players, the demon’s attention turned to the Lord’s Mansion, the church, and this little grove.

Hill knew it would eventually come to him.

The church — the demon wasn’t that foolish; it definitely didn’t dare to enter.

As for the Lord’s Mansion, Snow Cloud Peak was roaring, ”Why snow on my side! I’d rather freeze to death!”

Even an invisible creature can’t hide in a blizzard, right?

Hill searched his memory, trying to figure out which kind of high-level, fast, and inconspicuous demon it was.

Why didn’t he play D&D much before? His search was excruciating.

In Pazunia, aside from the monarch Pazuzu who didn’t care much for other demons, there was also Demon Princess Altinash, the opportunist fatso Baltasar, and Succubus Queen Mischucant.

As long as those Monarch Level demons didn’t get involved, this world could still cope with fortress lords from the edge of the Great Abyss and the like.

But Hill just couldn’t figure it out. Were vampires or devils coming in? Angrily, he continued to release Forest Song, which could be considered a Life Divine Art — Darkness System creatures would be greatly damaged no matter what they were.

Hill refused to believe that with Dense Forest Stars carrying such damage along with Ten Thousand Arrows Pierce Heart, this demon would not die!

Hill was nervously preparing, while above him the players continued their chaotic struggles.

Their cover was no longer being replenished.

”Telling them not to come down, but they just won’t listen!” Snow Cloud Peak shouted hoarsely, ”Can’t they jump off to the side! Why the hell are they all aiming for my head?”

”Are you dumb?” Perfect Bald’s voice appeared, ”When I jumped, I didn’t know anything up there!

We all tried to jump inward, afraid of hitting the walls and dying halfway; what would we do then?” He laughed heartily for a while, ”Now they’re all watching the live stream and definitely aiming for you! They want to drag you down with them even if it costs a lot of experience; it’s totally worth it!”

All of Black Rose had left their own city and come here?
