Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 101: Chapter 87 The Reprimand-deserving William

Hill didn’t want to get too involved with the players. If they really led him into trouble, Fran would probably hang him up and beat him.

This Snow Old Dog was obviously a tough guy. His words were full of traps. Hill didn’t plan to take his bait.

He returned to his room and thought for a moment before opening the communicator. He hated that eavesdropping guy, but he had to inform Fran. For a mage, it was hard to come by such an opportunity to study openly related to divinity.

”List, contact grandfather.” he said to List, who answered the communicator.

”Sir, did something happen at the Earl’s place?” List asked curiously.

”No, I delivered the potion; he has already woken up. I left directly.” Hill listened to his voice communicating with Diamant, ”Ran into the Undead.”

List was noticeably surprised, ”The Undead have already ventured this far from Saral?”

”What Undead?” Adrian’s voice came through, ”Did you encounter an Undead messenger at Edward’s place? They sure are diligent runners. What happened?”

”Delivered the potion, the Earl woke up, and I left.” Hill said simply, ”I encountered the Undead about 200 kilometers further north.

They found a strange relic.

It contained Elemental Crystals with strong earth attributes, all covered in curses.

The beasts inside were all extremely aggressive, very numerous, and also cursed.”

”Matters of the earth attribute, you wouldn’t mistake.” Adrian pondered, ”I’ll call the teacher over.”

Fran arrived quickly and asked, ”Do you think it’s related to the earth deity who failed to ascend?”

”Not him personally, but there’s a connection.” Hill asserted, ”I studied this crystal carefully. He probably had many beast subordinates.

Earth-attributed beasts all share a sense of heaviness.

But this seems to carry a touch of divine essence from the Earth deity.

However, it has nothing to do with the Earth Bear, which is very strange.”

”Earth Bear, only the elves have seen it.” Fran said, ”That creature is already a divine being and hasn’t appeared for over ten thousand years.

Just like you, no matter how long-lived a beast is, it can’t grant an extra ten thousand years of lifespan to generations of mages.

Once you have that longevity, it’s almost certain that the Earth Bear is a divine being.

So the Earth Bear in the elves’ legends could very well be the same one.”

”Elves are the first intelligent beings to appear in this world. The Earth Bear existed even then and helped them. That’s why there are so many stories about the Earth Bear in their legends.” Adrian said with a smile.

”Dwarves and humans appeared together.” Fran said, ”That’s why the theory of gods creating humans has never ceased.

The dwarves are isolated from the rest of the world and particularly hate humans. I once wanted to visit the Dwarf Kingdom to learn about weapon making.

The elves advised me against it, saying I would only bring suffering upon myself.

They said the dwarves were deeply wronged by humans and wouldn’t forgive them for a few hundred thousand years.”

”A few hundred thousand years? What kind of saying is that?” Adrian asked in surprise.

”Elves naturally live for 3,000 years and are born as professionals.” Fran said, ”The higher their level, the longer their lifespan. Their sense of time is beyond human understanding.

Half-elves are the same. Elvish blood is very strong and not easily intermixed with humans.

But the children of half-elves will have half-human, it’s really strange.”

”So, teacher, you’re the unfortunate half?” Adrian muttered, and then he got a loud slap.

”If Melanie weren’t human, I wouldn’t have taken you in, you wretched disciple.” Fran said coldly.

Hill quickly changed the subject, ”Is grandfather coming over? This feeling, it should be divine essence.

Earth Elemental Ore itself doesn’t have this attribute.

This dispersed demigod probably intended to ascend through the concept of earth, and he got very close to succeeding. His subordinates carry earth divine essence.”

Fran pondered, ”I’m not really interested in this. The insights brought to me by the Space Crystal need long-term contemplation.

But divine essence can be useful after reaching the legendary level.

Keep an eye on it and collect more crystals and beasts.

But, does the curse affect you?”

”Not much, Magister-level purification potions can solve it.” Hill said, ”I took a job to set up two purification arrays for them.”

”Do you need to use wood element to neutralize it?” Fran asked keenly, ”Is the water element useful?”

”Not much use, it’s fine for individual purification, but large-scale requires wood element.” Hill said with a smile, ”Also, my array incorporates the concept of earth, which helps break down the curse. Then the wood element absorbs and neutralizes it, and the water element cleanses it.

Ordinary magisters couldn’t manage it.”

”That’s good. Even if a legendary from Saral shows up, they can’t drive you away.” Fran said with satisfaction, ”You just collect the materials, don’t worry about anything else. After the news spreads, legends will definitely go to see, especially Obastian. He isn’t following His Majesty the King, so he has to find his own path.”

”Someone’s calling.” Diamant’s voice came through, ”In the communication room.”

”Adrian, go and see.” Fran said, ”They probably came for us. News about the Undead spread so quickly?”

Good thing Hill informed me first.

No matter who it is, say I’m not interested, let anyone else go. Hill is just a spectator now, collecting stuff.”
