Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 145: Chapter 11: The mantis stalks the cicada, unaware of the oriole behind_2

”Mr. Lu’s face must be quite a sight right now,” his partner couldn’t help but say, ”Who is livestreaming? Why so unprofessional! Cut to the next shot!”

”It’s not one of ours, otherwise how would we know the ship came from the Hill Family?” the junior reporter said while watching the screen, ”They played a recorded video earlier, it must be their own people, they only started streaming when they were right above Alluring Rain of the City.”

”Ah! The flames of vengeance are burning me!” the junior reporter danced around, ”Even as a chuunibyou teenager, one can remain silent in rage until the enemy is vanquished and then raise a glass in celebration!”

”Enough with the schadenfreude, where are the Black Rose folks heading to?”

”They’ve gone to rendezvous directly with the Magic Cult, coming towards us from above. Have all the members of the End of the World Alliance come down?”

”There are still over 20,000 knights left above blocking people. It’s already chaos, I guess Alluring Rain of the City plans to leave.”

”They’ve all left the guild, how much help can they be if they return! Would the city’s defensive magic also have to target them?”

”Exactly, after leaving the guild, it takes 7 days before they can rejoin. Even if they go back, they can only cheer from the sidelines.”

”Someone asked you to replay their intro,” the assistant reporter, who had been looking at the screen, said, ”They don’t want to change rooms.”

”Well, they simply can’t change. Please stay with me here,” said the reporter known as Witness, quickly starting to scroll through the footage.

Hill leaned his entire body against the tree wall, paying close attention.

”So this is what Hill’s valley looks like on the inside!” Witness exclaimed happily, ”Although I’ve flown above and taken some shots before, I’ve never been allowed in! This is also my first time seeing the inside.”

His partner, the Recorder, tugged at his arm, ”Are you getting carried away? Hill is still listening! Aren’t you afraid of being thrown out?”

”Ah! Sorry about that, Mr. Hill,” Witness quickly stood up straight and bowed in apology, then continued, ”It’s a beautiful sight, but it seems like Hill hasn’t done much arranging, is it all formed naturally?

The creatures in the river are Water Elementals, aren’t they? Such big eyes, are they here to watch the excitement?”

”Look at the mountain wall here, the eyes are moving, must be Earth Elementals,” laughed the Recorder, ”In Mr. Hill’s domain, there must be plenty of elements.”

”Look at these little orbs of light!” Witness called out loudly, ”These are Wood Elementals that humans rarely get to see!

Apart from Mr. Hill, with his elven bloodline, it’s probably very difficult for any other human to summon such nature elements.

Zoom in and take a closer look!

Oh, they are absolutely adorable! All of them are little figures with transparent wings! Look at those curious little faces!”

”Hold on, I’ll take a snapshot,” Recorder said, pulling at the screen.

After messing about for a few minutes, he finally zoomed in on a picture for everyone to see.

It showed a Wood Elemental making eye contact with a child from the Youth Journey of the Wenjian World.

Underneath a large tree, a little boy stood on his toes looking upwards, with a Wood Elemental Spirit fluttering its wings, gazing at this little youth.

Two pairs of innocently-looking eyes, the elf’s eyes sparkling with curiosity.

”Print me a copy,” Hill said promptly, ”I know you can use the Transcription Technique to print pictures.”

The two were taken aback once more, ”Sure, sure. Which part is Mr. Hill watching from?” They looked around in a circle but still couldn’t figure out where Hill was.

”It must be nice to be a Wood Element Warlock!” Witness said somewhat jealously, ”If we had that ability, what couldn’t we capture!”

The Recorder rapidly printed several copies using the Transcription Technique and held them up, ”Here, Mr. Hill, it’s ready.”

A branch gently wrapped around the stiff papers and swiftly carried them up to the top of the tree and out of sight.

They looked up for a while when their real assistant behind them reminded them, ”Stop staring, you wouldn’t be in this profession if you could make sense of it. Get back to work! The fight has already started over there.”

”Pah! It’s my deep love for journalism, you understand nothing,” the grumpy Witness retorted, ”Seeing this, everyone should understand. The End of the World Alliance launched a sneak attack on the Black and White Path’s territory, completely disregarding the safety of Hill, who was still here.

Moreover, they might very well have killed Mr. Hill in passing.

This, I believe, Mr. Hill who hasn’t budged should be aware of; otherwise, without demon attacks right now, he could have flown up directly.

While the End of the World Alliance is bullying the helpless Mr. Hill, they’ve forgotten the elder standing behind him.

Look at Mr. Adrian’s angry face! The Alchemist Master who’s always smiling is rarely seen so cold.

Mr. Adrian is venting all his pent-up rage on Alluring Rain of the City!

After all, they’re not innocent either.”

”Alright, that’s enough of the opening scene, the rest is just a non-stop raid, terrifying the defenders of Qingcheng,” the Recorder added. ”Let’s watch the main film!”

”At the moment, the Black Rose and Magic Cult members have arrived above us and are starting to clear out these remaining knights.

The knights from the End of the World Alliance, seeing the unfavorable situation, have already started jumping down. Is this an attempt to seize the time and take down the Black and White Path first?”

There’s no need to mention the situation on Qingcheng’s side, the numerical difference is too great, and Youth Journey of the Wenjian World has already fought their way to the Lord’s Mansion.

With gunfires blazing and smoke filling the air, the Lord’s Mansion can hardly hold on any longer!

It shows that Mr. Lu, reluctant to spend a lot of money on building materials, has invested in just an ordinary City Lord’s Mansion.

Perhaps he felt the location was safe enough? After all, it’s outside the western border.

Everyone knows Mr. Hill’s analysis from before, the south is stable, but with many newcomers, it’s convenient for traveling to those two countries. The north surely has more issues. The east is the ocean, other than players who want to venture out to sea, generally no one goes there. The west has the least issues, not to mention Mr. Hill’s own domain is here, and mages like Mr. Fran seem to prefer to establish their domains in this region as well.

But we, players who love to stir trouble, rarely build cities here!

Only Mr. Lu, who has offended too many, builds his city here in order to face fewer problems.

Unfortunately, it seems that Wenjian, who didn’t appear to care much, only didn’t plan to deal with their brainless leader, yet that didn’t mean they weren’t seeking revenge.”

”They were absolutely right to turn to Snow Cloud Peak! It’s clear now that the End of the World Alliance and Magic Cult are irreconcilable.

But those from Qingcheng were the last batch to jump down, right? They started off as a precaution, but they became audacious when they didn’t notice Wenjian gathering, did they?

Who would have thought of Mr. Hill’s valley as an option?

Who knew when people started pouring into Hill’s Domain?”

”Ah! Stop spamming! There are residents from Hill’s Domain here. He said not many people go there, it’s just that there’s always been Wenjian and Black and White Path members staying above, broadcasting live for Adrian and List.

But Hill’s valley has other entrances, that do not go through their village.

This means that those from Wenjian didn’t use the Teleportation Array, they ran all the way there on foot!

Such a burning desire for revenge!”

”Ah, the Lord’s Mansion has fallen! Can the church no longer resurrect? Or have they given up, how many times has Mr. Lu died? Why hasn’t he shown up again?”

”The core of the domain’s formation must have been shattered, right? There are no more revival points left. Let’s observe a moment of silence for the first player’s domain to have its core destroyed!”

”What about Wenjian’s domain?”

”That doesn’t count, they failed the siege defense before the core was fully activated!”

”Alright, Youth Journey of the Wenjian World has won a complete victory, we have already received news that Mr. Lu has resurrected with his forces in the system city.”

”They’re boarding the ships again; in such a short time, they could completely come to support the Black and White Path.”

”Black Rose and Magic Cult have wiped clean those knights and joined up with the original defenders.

They’ve already charged from the Revival Point towards the small square in a wave.

Now, both sides are in the middle of resurrecting.

The End of the World now faces a serious problem of attacking the city at the risk of faction imbalance because they did not apply for a siege permit.

Everyone from their side is marked with a red name, so no matter how many times Black Rose and Magic Cult reinforcements die, they’ll only drop to their current level at most.

But if the End of the World dies a few more times and drops to the Archmage stage, then their only option will be to log off to save their lives.”

”And there’s no movement from Snow Cloud Peak. He must know the current situation, yet has no intention of coming back.”

”How could anyone be foolish enough to ask how to contact without a signal? Can’t you make phone calls from your gaming pod?”

”The current situation is, if the End of the World cannot completely crush the Black and White Path before Wenjian’s reinforcements arrive, then this time they’ve truly lost their wife and army!”

Rumbling noises started in the distance, Hill looked towards the hall where the collapsing tunnels were incessant.

They were supposed to enter the Abyss, weren’t they? Why did they collapse the way back? Are they planning to return in death?

The attackers seemed to realize this too, and the battlefire intensified!

Victory or defeat would be decided in this one move!
