Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 115: Chapter 93 The Unyielding Adrian_2

It was the Old Age Striking King and her companions, and indeed, they had come up.

Upon reaching the gallery, they took one look at Hill Shop and decided to abandon the last leg of their struggle, opting instead to lie down on the gallery benches, motionless.

As the Old Age Striking King lay there, her mouth almost spinning circles as she cursed a few people under her breath, everyone from the Young Master to An Idler, Nie Xingchen, and Sui Chen was almost ground to dust between her clenched teeth.

While on her lips, those she had shredded to pieces lay obediently, with none daring to talk back.

Hill had always thought that Mobi Chenxin, even if she descended to level up, should send a few people to the designated shop area to open a restaurant.

They needed to replenish their strength, didn’t they? Did they really have to buy from within Saral’s territory? Even if they carried food with them, didn’t they want to eat something different after coming out of the underground?

Hill remembered that the food one could carry typically consisted of bread and water, or at most some roasted meat.

Unfortunately, there was still no sign of this happening.

Hill summoned Srei, ”Let’s set up a food cabinet downstairs. Send down sandwiches, pizza, and juice or something. I remember we brought a Chef Puppet along, tell it to get cooking.”

”Of course, sir.” Srei went to make the arrangements.

Hill shook his head, his thoughts drifting back to those online gaming novels he had read.

In them, every city lord, whether the protagonist or not, could manage their territory and lead people in battle masterfully, taking care of everything and showing concern for all. Yet reality was so much harsher.

Players were all after their own enjoyment, who would spend so much energy in a virtual world, exhausting themselves?

Perhaps over time, such players might emerge. But for now, with the game’s lifespan still uncertain, aside from those players specifically studying territory management, others were mainly seeking thrills.

Even those willing to build houses and learn culinary and manufacturing skills usually chose a comparatively stable NPC territory.

Which player would idly, with all their effort, descend into madness alongside a bunch of fighters?

Black Rose’s city was well constructed, yet couldn’t they attract living players in the end, resorting to using puppets instead?

Players were very pragmatic, they might go there to shop, but to stay? No one wanted to endure the torment of seeing the house they built with hard work completely ruined.

The Old Age Striking King lay down for a while and seemed to have recovered a bit. She then stubbornly got up and headed towards Hill’s shop, kicking the three members of her guild awake in the process.

The Young Master looked up, put his short legs under the chair, and stepped on them for a while. In the end, he quietly retracted his legs and continued to lie down.

But he didn’t get to enjoy this for long; everything was ended by An Idler’s loud shout of ’There’s food for sale’.

The Young Master ’thump’ fell to the ground and ran towards the shop at a sprint.

The others, who were chatting nearby, also got up and ran towards the shop amidst the Old Age Striking King’s roar of ’Idler, are you stupid?’

Apparently, someone had made a call, and the female players who were originally wandering around Phillips’s shop also started to head towards Hill’s shop, walking over.

Hill started to smile, giving himself a mental thumbs up.

He indeed didn’t need to compete with Hensley and Phillips for materials, but he hoped to gather more information.

Players might not know what they saw, but their chats could bring a lot of news to Hill.

”Sir.” Srei appeared.

Hill looked at him questioningly, ”What’s up?”

”Lady Sanda King asked me if we brought the food ourselves? How long can they purchase it for?

I told her we have a Chef Puppet, as long as the shop remains, there will always be food. She asked if she could buy?”

Hill looked down at the floor below; even the fiercest woman was meticulous.

He thought about it and then instructed Srei, ”Tell the lady that if she needs it, she can go to my territory to find List and buy from him.

Go to the Lord’s Mansion and summon List by calling his name.

Then notify List.”

Srei complied and left.

Cohen, taking tiny steps towards him, gently pecked at his robe with his beak. Hill smiled and said, ”That will do, it’s over, go out now, but don’t fly too far away.”

It was merely tens of thousands of the Undead Tribe arriving, and perhaps only half of them were Mages, but Hill could already feel the concentration of elements nearby the territory beginning to decrease.

As a Magical Beast, Cohen also sharply responded to this, it could fly higher and longer here.

Hill looked up at Cohen soaring in the sky and wondered if the world wanted to lower the element concentration because of the appearance of Wind Elements.

Moreover, a world without powerful flying Magical Beasts indeed seemed to have a defect.

As night fell, players started to come out in batches.

They first chose the two shops below to sell Magical Beasts and Crystal Stones, then climbed up to Hill’s shop without hesitation to buy food. Finally, they sat in the chairs on the corridor, eating and drinking while chatting.

As a Mid-level Elemental Spirit, Srei could gather all information within this area of over 500 square meters.

Hill planned to wait until Adrian came the next day to listen together.

He calculated the number of people below; the ones currently coming out should all be the ones who were originally nearby, the ones who went to Edward Camp to take on errand missions and then came here after receiving notifications from their gang leaders.

Apart from the Elder Striking Kings and a few others, they were Mages.

It seems the energy bar of a Mage is indeed shorter than that of a Knight!

Phillips and his people didn’t show any reaction, but Hill saw Hensley standing down there, looking in the direction of Hill’s shop for a long time. Probably after seeing the food in the hands of the Undead Tribe, he finally understood why no undead stayed near them and went in.

He probably could never understand why the elementally transformed High-level Professionals of the Undead Tribe needed so much food.

Hill certainly had no obligation to enlighten him.

Adrian, in his showy golden spaceship, arrived on the morning of the second day.

The gentle touch of the first morning sunlight made the golden sails sparkle, and the Undead Tribe who had battled all night to reach the summit, expressed their envious admiration.

Soon, there surely would be players who weren’t afraid to spend money inquiring about the cost of the ship.

Compared to Hill’s little white ship, Adrian’s would likely attract more attention from players.

Hill stood at the shop entrance watching the golden ship slowly descend.

Adrian was already standing on the deck with a few people, waving to him. Adrian seemed to value this shop highly, actually bringing along four Mage Apprentices.

Hensley and Phillips also came up with their people.

As the first heir of the Fran family, Adrian was indeed a bit more important in their eyes.

Adrian first said to Hill, ”Little Hill, I have to trouble you again this time.” Then he nodded to the two approaching men, ”Gentlemen, hello. Hill is young, if there is anything lacking, I hope you can be more forgiving.

If there’s any issue, you can contact me directly, or my teacher, it’s all the same!”

Phillips shook his head directly, ”Mr. Polanio is very steady. How could he possibly provoke people randomly!” He coldly glanced at Hensley, ”Unless someone is too annoying.”

Hensley, however, unflinchingly said to Adrian, ”Mr. Adrian is too nervous.

Though Mr. Polanio is young, he’s a Magister!

We are all of the same level, naturally, we should treat each other as equals.”

Adrian scoffed, ”Hill may not be one to provoke troubles, but he doesn’t fear them either.

Even against a Legendary, Hill has the power to resist.

He is not limited to only summoning the same Element.

Nor is he restricted to only summoning Spells!”

He looked at the two of them and said indifferently, ”Excuse me, I need to get the shop set up first.”
