Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 381: Chapter 144: Strategist Yao Xue

The Sub-human Continent, a sensational piece of news quickly spread across all the armed clans.

The newly established security department of the Illusionary Union, with masters from the Powerful Gang, Deep Web Weaver, and Steel Claw Gang joining forces, and with the aid of other corporate elites, breached the top five clans of the Sub-human Continent overnight.

The top brass of the Kobayashi, Miyamoto, Black Hawk, and Xiaoi families all fell into the hands of the corporation.

And this was just on the eve of the clan assembly.

Clearly, the objective of this attack was extremely clear; the new corporate giant was using this method to force the Sub-human Continent into submission.

The effect was also obvious; within a day, the armed clans were thrown into chaos. It’s worth noting that the four captured clans alone held nearly half of the shares in the Sub-human United Foundation.

The Kobayashi, Miyamoto, Black Hawk, and Xiaoi families were all renowned mercenary clans, with family members working as world-class military contractors. That means each family had Tier 2 elites above level 30, and in this situation, the family leaders must have reinforced their security forces.

Even so, they were still swiftly crushed.

Such a blow can be imagined.

More terrifyingly, the Illusionary Union publicly claimed that they had developed second-phase Neural Editor technology.

This also means that they can now mass-produce neural network experts of level 30 or above.

Evaluating the combat capability of a force does not depend on how many masters they have, but rather on the professional levels they can provide.

The ability to offer Tier 2 professions is the first step for a force to break through regional limits.

The ease of executing a ’Beheading Operation’ is largely due to a massive number of neural network experts invading the clans’ members’ vision, brains, and even the internal networks, developing a large number of insiders.

Although Cyber Hackers are the professionals in this area, the collective action of neural transformation experts under the corporate will is still difficult for ordinary forces to handle.

”Obviously, the technological breakthrough of the Illusionary Union is the biggest reason for the success of this operation. With the blessing of the Moral Chip, a large amount of computational power was devoured by the corporate will, and algorithms were enhanced, giving rise to a large number of neural network experts.”

”So, we are indeed facing a rather big problem.”

On the Sub-human Continent, within a very secluded Japanese-style courtyard.

There is almost no modern technological equipment here.

This is the safe house of the last remaining great clan on the Sub-human Continent, the Yao Family.

Compared to other clan leaders, the patriarch of the Yao Family is a particularly young woman named Yao Xue, a very graceful woman wearing form-fitting exoskeleton soft armor, with a small mole on her chin.

Looking at the worried expressions of the dozen or so small clan leaders in front of her, Yao Xue smiled and said, ”Are you all implanted with Moral Chips, or have your brains been modified by neural network experts? Otherwise, why is no one speaking?”

A small clan leader sighed.

”With hundreds of neural network experts attacking at once, even if our electronic defense walls are of the highest grade, I’m afraid they won’t hold for long.”

”Yes, at that point, if our personalities are altered and we directly declare surrender, the century-old foundation of the Sub-human Continent might be destroyed in our hands.”

”With their methods, it won’t take much effort to find out our current location. If we can withstand the first attack, can we withstand the second?”

Yao Xue chuckled softly; the young family leader closed the folding fan in her hand.

”So, have you ever thought about, if it’s so easy to deal with us, why haven’t they done it yet?”

The crowd was silent for a moment, and finally, the leader of the Daisila Clan spoke up.

”I think it’s because our power in the Sub-human Continent lies outside, not within.”

Yao Xue nodded and said, ”You’re right. Whether it’s the five great clans or other clans, the most formidable and promising young talents serve as mercenaries worldwide, working for various military contractors. If we were killed, they would surely come for revenge. Even the Illusionary Union wouldn’t want to see that happen.”

”So, a strong military presence is bound to encourage peace talks through pressure. As long as we are willing to give up some independence like the three major gangs, they will not exterminate us completely.”

”If nothing unexpected happens, the negotiation representatives of the Illusionary Union will come soon, and by then, what to do next will become clear.”

Listening to the intentions of this female clan leader, it seemed she really planned to give up the independence status of the Sub-human Continent. Many small clan members hesitated to speak, clearly unwilling, yet they didn’t dare to oppose.

Soon, these people retreated.

Yet the female clan leader, who had shown such confidence earlier, sighed slightly, a touch of worry appearing on her fair face.

”Go invite our benefactors to come.”

Soon, Daisila and Tamil appeared. Regarding this armed clan leader, the two showed little respect, even expressing some hostility.

In the Sub-human Continent, it is very common for small clans to be vassals to great clans.

The families of Daisila and Matsushima Keiko were vassals to the Yao Family.

The reason why Yao Xue wasn’t captured first—to catch the king by assaulting the servants first—was largely due to the two clan leaders bringing them to visit this Yao Xue.

Under the ambush of numerous peacekeepers, Daisila had to mobilize her hidden forces, with nearly 30 Elite Hunters of level 25 striking with full force, directly paving a bloody path for Yao Xue.
