Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 367: Chapter 136: Side Quest

Paradise Bird abruptly stood up, and in an instant, the ceiling became engulfed in flames, within which were countless information symbols. At level 60, Information Life’s weapons have already transformed from ordinary codes into Star System codes.

Star System codes, also known as Information codes, are not limited to a specific format. Any data information, text, images, or even physical objects can be transformed into it, meaning the ’Mana Value’ of Information Life is endless.

With a thought from Paradise Bird, huge flaming birds descended from the ceiling, igniting ’Old Pawa’ in front of them. Each flaming bird possesses immense destructive power, more than enough to burn a ’Red Wing Killer’. If measured in terms of ’Blood Damage’, each attack can inflict 20,000 to 30,000 damage, and this damage is sustainable.

In other words, as long as one cannot break the ’Paradise Bird’s code structure, they will be continuously hunted down by it, no matter where they flee.

Since Paradise Bird upgraded to level 60, it was Gao Gong’s first time seeing her in action, and she was indeed ferocious. Now it seems that within the hacker domain, it’s likely that only a handful of peers can stand against her.

And the reason the opponent is hiding in Gao Gong’s Brain Disc is due to fear of the Mother City, more accurately, the ’Deep Net’, rather than some ordinary entities.

Sure enough, in only three seconds Old Pawa melted into a heap of silver liquid.

However, when the flames dissipated, the silver liquid started to wriggle upwards, once again reforming into the faceless Old Pawa.

Paradise Bird furrowed her brows and pointed with one hand. Countless flames of information descended from the heavens, forming an oversized ’Flaming Paradise Bird’, which swallowed Old Pawa whole.

Inside, the flames surged furiously, even staining the surface with a layer of black. Under the influence of these black flames, even the original silver fluid started to dissolve.

However, the rate of disintegration was far slower than Paradise Bird anticipated.

At this pace, it would take at least an hour to completely destroy this peculiar ’Faceless Flesh Body’.

Meanwhile, within this ’Information Cocoon’, Gao Gong could hear increasingly intense knocking, as if a thousand people were knocking simultaneously.

Paradise Bird’s eyes flashed fiercely as she was about to step forward, but Gao Gong stopped her, smiling, ”Since they are so sincere, meeting them wouldn’t hurt. Would you like to step aside?”

”No!”

”You should be able to see his connection with the Fortress,” Gao Gong pointed at the ’Faceless Man’ who once again began to regenerate, ”This guy’s true form is a bizarre personality database, and a Mother City Level database at that.”

A Mother City Level database implies the 90th level code tier, it’s not particularly shameful for Paradise Bird’s flames to be unable to melt the opponent.

However, Paradise Bird sneered coldly.

”I’m even more inclined to see if he really is the Fortress’s incarnation, whether he’ll arrest me, the wanted criminal, on the spot.”

This sister sure has quite the temper.

Gao Gong shrugged, ceasing his persuasion, flicked his fingers in mid-air, and quickly, one door after another appeared. Each door opened, and an Old Pawa emerged from it.

These Old Pawa’s temperaments were varied—some domineering, some sleazy, some with eyes flickering, some with steadfast will, some with eyes lighting up upon seeing Paradise Bird, others with eyes lighting up upon seeing Gao Gong—different xps naturally count as part of one’s character.

Yet perhaps due to the ’database’ being burned, all these Old Pawa bore varying degrees of burn marks, and even data liquid seeped from the surface.

”I didn’t expect to meet the seventh on the wanted list, Paradise Bird, nor did I expect you to be so formidable. To an amateur like me, solely this fire could instill fear even in a Deep Net Aggregator.”

Deep Net Aggregators are Big Data Monsters with official identity. Every so often, they gather in the Deep Net, following the Mother City’s dispatch.

Gao Gong spoke as well.

”Arasaka Technology, Deep Net, and as for the military unit, it’s a product of another global-scale Military Contractor, ’Military Technology’.”

”A mere local gang in Mechanical City is linked to three giants simultaneously, truly astonishing,” Gao Gong cast a deep gaze at his opponent, ”Won’t you introduce yourself first?”

Unbeknownst to when, the thousands of Old Pawa merged into one; though there were still visible burn traces, they had faded significantly. Conversely, Paradise Bird’s surface had turned red-hot, especially the scars on her cheeks, which glowed red as if they might crack open any moment and spew magma.

Old Pawa immediately realized if he doesn’t give a satisfactory answer, it’s not a matter of simply inviting someone in, but rather whether he would leave alive.

His body slightly arched, somewhat resembling an elderly man of his age, yet also like a crouched beast.

But from an unseen angle, his face was rapidly changing, finally settling on a visage of ’enthusiasm yet not devoid of authority’.

Virtual Personality - ’Senior Official’: Greatly enhance your persuasion skills and create an aura of leadership.

”Old Pawa, leader of the Powerful Gang, 41st Favored of the Deep Net, 313th project executor, simultaneously serving as Arasaka Technology’s ’Carbon-Based Warrior’ project manager and Military Technology’s action department deputy minister, ’Military Machine’ project director.”
