Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 371: Chapter 138: Speakerless Is Unforgivable

Twin Towers, the highest building in Crime City, is also where the city council is located.

Of course, this council has another name—the Evil Association.

Only the most vicious criminals and the most powerful crime organizations are eligible to become members.

And now, a rising crime organization ’Evil Jade Clan’ has openly announced its plan to blow up this crime group’s stronghold.

That’s just—too evil!

So, even before nightfall, innumerable reporters and anchors swarmed to the scene, eager to report this news destined for the headlines.

”Currently, we are at the front entrance of the Twin Towers. Just from what we can see, there are no fewer than hundreds of Peacekeepers, dozens of Flying Devices in the sky, and Mechanical Eyeliners covering the whole area, wow, and even automated Energy Cannons.”

”By the way, a quick science lesson: these are legacies left by the last generation of Mechanical Main Brain. Despite numerous gang wars throughout the city, no single organization managed to claim them. Eventually, a city-wide gang conference was held, and it was decided that these assets would be used to protect the Evil Association and not for the gang wars.”

”Cough cough—”

The cameraman coughed dryly, signaling that the ratings were dropping, implying the audience wasn’t interested in such knowledge, so the anchor swiftly shifted topics to introduce the gangs responsible for guarding the Evil Association.

”Currently, the Crime Maintainers we can see are the Mountain Beak Group, Black Smoke Faction, Biochemical Geisha Group, A-Type Motorcycle Faction, Samurai Group, and Red Stone Group.”

”Among them, the Mountain Beak Group and Black Smoke Faction are those big guys in suits behind me. Both organizations were once major factions under the Rice Fragrance Association, and their first-generation leaders were frontline chiefs. Notably, during gang warfare, the first leader of Mountain Beak Group snatched the elderly mother of Black Smoke Faction’s first leader as a concubine, while the first leader of Black Smoke Faction kidnapped the daughter of Mountain Beak Group’s first leader for a public wedding, so from a blood relation perspective, the first leaders of these two are actually in-laws.”

”Due to their similar origins, these two crime organizations also have similar modification directions, focusing on fingers, forearms, and Prosthetic Eye modifications. Every member in the organization is an excellent shooter, with a perfect shot within 100 meters.”

”And after their split, they also took different routes. Mountain Beak Group joined a close-quarter assassination modification, as you can see those gangsters with leg modifications and implanted Samurai Swords, those are from the Mountain Beak Group, while on the other hand, Black Smoke Faction went down the path of Biological Transformation. They are known as ’walking Biochemical Weapons’ and ’Omen of Mist.’”

”You see those beautiful geishas by the window upstairs? I’m sure some citizens have tasted their delights at night, but I must add, the Biochemical Geisha Group has occupied the Red Light District for years. They are the city’s number one violent organization, remember, they are a violent organization! The most violent existence!”

”Motorcycle Factions exist in every Mechanical City, but the A-Type Motorcycle Faction is different. They are a religious group, reportedly worshiping a special symbol!”

”Did everyone hear the rumbling sound on the streets? That’s the sound of human motorcycles revving.”

”As for the Samurai Group, there’s nothing more to say, the most formidable street battle machine.”

The anchor, at the cameraman’s signal, started moving closer to the interior to take some close-up shots and introduce the last organization, the Red Stone Group.

”The Red Stone Group, or more precisely, the Crime City branch of the Red Stone Group. As everyone knows, the Red Stone Group is a world-class military contractor, second only to ’Tabor Defense System,’ ’Marubeni Global Security,’ and ’Military Technology,’ and ranks alongside the recently emerging Mas Sharpness as the most promising military contractor. Its products cover various new weapons, including paper-shaped mines and tracking-type bullets...”

Before the words were even finished, the anchor seemed to step on some trash paper, just about to sweep it aside when their face suddenly turned pale, looked down, and an explosion sounded.

Blood and flames, and body fragments, along with the shattered camera lenses.

”How could anyone be stupid enough to enter a minefield?”

A gangster from Mountain Beak Group sneered with a cigarette in his mouth.

”Doesn’t she know that the entire Twin Towers are covered with these mine papers now?”

Another young gangster was somewhat scared, looking at his shoes below.

”Can this thing really smartly identify? How come I feel like standing on a volcano.”

”Relax, it’s quite effective,” the big guy jumped on the spot several times, laughing and said, ”This isn’t that kind of Sensing-type mine, it comes with a Genes detection function, remember our previous blood registration?”

Just then, a stern-faced middle-aged man approached, the faces of the two big guys changed, and they quickly bowed their heads, ”Section Chief Yamanaka!”

The newcomer was the recently prominent frontline chief, Yamanaka Kaera.

”Not patrolling, lazing around here?!”

”Very sorry, Chief!!” The big guy quickly bowed and apologized, while the newly joined guy reacted a tad slow, only to feel a flash of silver, and a finger vanished. His pupils suddenly widened, his mouth just about to let out a scream, was covered by the big guy, and he was punched in the abdomen, the pain bending him over.

”Very sorry!!!”

”Get to patrolling!”

”Yes!!!”

Section Chief Yamanaka calmly played with the blood-stained finger, everyone in the gang knew that this new chief’s favorite punishment was the ancient gang penalty—finger cutting.

Walking to a place out of the surveillance camera’s reach, Section Chief Yamanaka took out a cigar box from his pocket and inserted a finger. With this one, there were exactly seven fingers in the box, no more, no less.

”Dehua, why are you so slow? Didn’t you claim to be the descendant of the First Transformation? Just seven Genetic Locks, and you’re collecting them this slowly?”

An annoyed voice of a Hacker came through the earphone.

”Cut the crap, Hacker, or I’ll finish you!” Section Chief Yamanaka — no, it should be Number Five of the Evil Jade Clan, Liu Dehua said coldly.

”Oh, so scared, Hua. I wonder when you plan to betray our Evil Jade Clan. Honestly, I’ve been looking forward to that day for a long time. By then, I can hunt you openly. I want to kill you until you quit the game!” Mortar laughed boisterously.

”Get back and finish your homework, elementary school student. We don’t need you tonight; we need that perverted lunatic.”

”What, you look down on me! Am I not perverted enough?” Mortar shouted in anger.

”You’re not perverted enough,” several voices replied simultaneously.

”Alright, alright, you guys just wait. Sooner or later, I’ll turn the Evil Jade Clan into the Burial Love Clan. Then you’ll know whether I’m perverted or not!”

Hanging up the earphone, Section Chief Yamanaka straightened his collar and walked out again, his long, horse-like face displaying a pair of intimidating eyes. Everyone retreated in his presence, avoiding his gaze.

Upon reaching the tenth floor, he saw a Legislator being interviewed.

”I’ll repeat it again, it’s not just me but over a hundred of our colleagues in the parliament who won’t evacuate. We’re convinced that those clowns disrupting things won’t succeed. The reason is simple: when it comes to crime, we are the professionals. They’re digging their own graves!”

The next moment, the sound of an explosion rang out. A building not far from the Twin Tower burst into intense flames, accompanied by a strong explosion sound.

The Legislator’s expression changed. He shoved the reporters aside and shouted, ”What happened?”

The electronic voice in the building appeared.

”Mr. Black Senator, someone hacked into an Energy Weapon launch system. There’s a 75% chance it’s the Hacker from the Evil Jade Clan. Currently, our Cyber Hacker is engaging him in cyberspace.”

”Catch him as soon as possible, or the ’Speakerless’ won’t spare you!”

The Black Senator snorted coldly and buttoned his sleeve, which bore a red rose, the emblem of a city gang known as the Rose Group, famous for dealing in Biological Hallucinogen. The distinct feature of these hallucinogens was causing mental illusions while simultaneously deforming the body. It’s said a Biological Group supports them from behind.

According to recent news, several biological experiment factories of theirs were burned down to ashes by Fire Starter from the Evil Jade Clan.

Old adversaries, indeed.

The Black Senator and Yamanaka Kaera passed each other.

”Yamanaka, you understand what consequences an invasion here would bring, don’t you?”

”The entire city’s gangs will be in an uproar. The hard-earned stability will collapse, triggering a new gang war. Everyone will covet the position of the ’Speakerless’.”

”Good that you know. Protect this place well!” The Black Senator poked Yamanaka Kaera’s chest threateningly: ”The territory of your Mountain Beak Group is built on peace and order. Once order collapses, the goods our Rose Group sells on your turf will not be taxed by you! Do you understand!?”

”Of course,” Yamanaka Kaera replied with a sinister smile, ”When there’s a war, how can you earn money?”

”Good that you understand!”

The Black Senator flung his sleeve and left.

Yamanaka Kaera took a deep glance at the night outside the window and returned to the elevator.

This time, he reached the top floor, which was the 200th floor, the location of the parliament.

The parliament hall was empty.

Yamanaka Kaera looked towards the highest red-backed chair which, twenty years ago, belonged to the Mechanical Main Brain of Sunless City, also known as the ’Speakerless’.

But now, the ’Speakerless’ is truly gone, and ’The Speakerless won’t forgive’ has become a gang slogan, usually ending poorly for those threatened by it.

Soon, according to the Twin Tower Artificial Intelligence, in the Evil Jade Clan, Scissorhand, Mortar, Fire Starter, and Debt Collector appeared one after another and began attacking the perimeter of the Twin Tower with overwhelming firepower.

Meanwhile, on a tall building near the Twin Tower, three figures appeared.

Gao Gong watched the scene of flames soaring skyward with interest.

”So soon there are people overthrowing those in power, huh? This batch of players is top-notch.”
