Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 366: Chapter 135: Splintered Personality

As soon as these words were spoken, the Collider and Pupil immediately changed color.

Gao Gong licked his lips and smiled, ”Since the main player has come knocking, why not see them?”

”You all should step aside for a moment.”

Xiao Yu obediently walked into the house, finding a little girl bionic man lying straight in what used to be Gao Yuanyuan’s room, in a powered down state.

The Collider and Pupil hesitated for a moment, then chose to step back.

Soon, only Gao Gong was left in the scene. Gao Gong snapped his fingers, and the next moment, the room disappeared, replaced by a data maze with countless streams of electronic light flickering, flooding the newcomer as the door opened.

”Hmm, Mr. G is quite hospitable, actually using the best stuff to entertain an old relic like me.”

Old Pawa scanned the area, seeing the real scene fade away, replaced by a long white corridor lined with countless rooms, white ceilings, white walls, white floors, and even white metal doors.

More intriguingly, the metal doors lacked handles.

The faint smile that always hung on Old Pawa’s face vanished.

This wasn’t an ordinary data maze.

Nor was it some visual illusion.

But a deeper transformation.

Old Pawa crouched down, rolled up his sleeves, and unceremoniously extended his hand, inserting his dirty finger into the floor, which began to soften under some special power, revealing clear, worm-like patterns.

”Brain?”

A mosaic of images suddenly flashed in Old Pawa’s eyes.

By the time he regained his senses, he was standing again, the corridor still white, the floor unmarked, absent of any brain matter.

”Can it control my senses?”

”Not a pure data maze, let me think, let me think,” Old Pawa’s aged eyes gleamed, ”the fusion of hacking technology and biotechnology.”

He hammered on the white metal door, which suddenly made a strange ’click’ sound.

In reality, Xiao Yu’s step faltered, the energy circuits in her ankle flaring to stabilize her posture.

”Hmm?”

”Plus mechanical technology, impressive, truly impressive, who would have thought in my lifetime I’d see such formidable means? Mr. G, have you considered joining the Powerful Gang? If you join, we can settle all past grievances, how about it?”

Silence filled the white corridor.

Old Pawa chuckled indifferently, knowing someone as formidable as Gao Gong would have a will as firm as a thought steel seal, immovable by external forces.

But he just liked this kind of challenge!

As the ruler of the Powerful Gang, his purpose this time was simple—to kill.

The Powerful Gang, as one of the three major gangs in Nightless City, even vaguely superior to the other two, had a core reason for every member possessed the battle prowess to destroy a professional force. Every member, if set loose in corporations or gangs, would become the absolute top individual.

And the strong in Nightless City took pride in joining the Powerful Gang.

But now, someone had taken out two members, two he quite favored.

Undoubtedly, this shattered the Golden Body of the Powerful Gang.

Old Pawa had to personally resolve the other party and uphold the gang’s reputation.

He was slightly altering his plan now.

If the ones who killed two Powerful Gang members were members themselves, then there would be no problem at all!

This was the culture of their organization!

Topple the superior, and keep toppling, until becoming number one on this planet!

”Hehe, hehe, interesting, then let me find you!!”

”Once found, you’ll make me hehe.”

Old Pawa wore a perverse smile, rubbed his aged hands, and pushed open a large door.

However, the scene remained unchanged, the same corridor, ceiling, floor, and doors.

”Interesting, interesting!”

This time, Old Pawa’s head swelled, projecting an aged perverse face, first the face, then the back of the head, then arms, body, legs...

Unlike the split of Cyber Killer, this division had all ’body units’ squeezed out of the head.

”Personality splitting?”

In a vast room full of countless ’small screens,’ Gao Gong sat in the center, eating cotton candy that the system extracted while watching.

Like cells undergoing mitosis, one became two, two became four, four became eight...

Soon, hundreds and thousands of Old Pawas appeared, starting to wander around.

”Looks like he’s discovered it.” Gao Gong stuffed a mouthful of cotton candy, muttering to himself.

”You’ve combined the Void Realm with your brain, aren’t you afraid of being overwhelmed by the data flow?” A hand reached over, grabbed a clump of cotton candy, and stuffed it into its mouth.

Paradise Bird plopped down next to Gao Gong, crossing her long legs.

Never mind her average looks, those legs were stunning, at leg model level, quite a sight.

”It’s always me overwhelming others, never giving them the chance to overwhelm me, I have confidence in that,” Gao Gong glanced at her askance, ”but why did you come out?”

”Came out for some air, and to see what you’re up to?”

Hackers are total shut-ins, as long as there’s a connection, where the body is doesn’t matter; Ahong and Aidolu even connect daily in the Brain Disc, engrossed in cos websites, anime communities, shut-in forums, completely absorbed.

While even Paradise Bird is a shut-in, she’s a tech-focused one, preferring to study hacking techniques.

This also doesn’t require real-world resources.

So these three seem intent on staying long-term in Gao Gong’s Brain Disc.

”What’s your take?” Paradise Bird glanced at the countless screen images of Old Pawa, her brows furrowing.

”If he were challenging me with code, even ten of him would be done for, but his personality splitting adds some trouble.”

Gao Gong shrugged, ”I don’t want to absorb chaotic personality fragments in my own brain.”

Paradise Bird, aware of the hassle of ’personality changes,’ mused, ”How can he split so many personalities? An ordinary person can have at most one, even us hackers can’t duplicate more than 10, most in a dormant state.”

”You’d have to ask the Fortress, after all, this guy came from there; mastering some perverse Mother City technology makes sense.”

”So you’re just keeping him trapped?”

”Yeah, if he likes, let him stay here. By the time he finds an exit, I’ll be long out of town.”

”Yes, that’s best; such a multifaceted monster’s core code differs, making it nearly impossible to kill,” Paradise Bird agreed with Gao Gong’s strategy.

”Given your level of coding, even I, without sufficient time, couldn’t find this place.” Paradise Bird cast Gao Gong a strangely admiring glance and added.

”Hmm, better not speak too confidently, lest you face embarrassment.”

Paradise Bird froze, her expression changed, and she swung around, seeing a faceless shadow of Old Pawa standing behind them in the center of the brain.
