Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 373: Chapter 140: Tentacle Monster

”Sheriff, I’m lost. Do you know where my mom went?”

Amidst the constant explosions on the street, a little girl with big eyes and short white hair tugged on the arm of a Peacekeeper holding an implanted machine gun, her eyes brimming with tears, speaking in a worried tone.

The little girl was also holding a toy bird in her hand, the bird had a scissor-like tail.

The fierce Peacekeeper glanced down at her, his cold gaze softening a bit.

”It’s not safe here, go somewhere else.”

”But, uncle, I don’t know where to go.”

”Then hide in the car for now, be smart, don’t provoke those bad guys in the car.”

”Thank you, uncle. Could you take me there?” The little girl reluctantly held onto the Sheriff’s big hand.

The Sheriff scanned the area, confirming there was no danger around, sighed, ”Alright, running into you today is my bad luck.”

”That’s not true; mom said anyone who meets Yanyan is very lucky.”

So, the Sheriff shook his head and led her toward a modified police car.

...

”Five minutes!”

At the Twin Tower, Yamanaka Kaera glanced at his watch, and taking advantage of others not paying attention, quickly pressed his earpiece and said.

”Damn it, those monsters were so troublesome. I got stuck here with two level 20 hackers, and they even unleashed virus dogs on me!” the Hacker exclaimed furiously.

”I’ll be there in time,” replied the Debt Collector, also known as Hei Bing No. 2.

”Hehehe, don’t count on the mortar. The body scent of those bio-processed prostitutes can lure cyber psychosis patients, the mortar is down. Oh, I just peeled off two human skins, sent the pictures to you guys, make sure to take a look.”

”Where’s Yanzi?”

”Communication is cut. That middle-aged woman playing the role of a little girl is probably up to her antics somewhere again,” laughed the Fire Starter. ”Fresh bodies attract her, but what attracts me is only the aroma of grilling meat! Ah, the Maillard reaction is so splendid!”

Yamanaka Kaera calmly hung up the earpiece. So only the Debt Collector was certain to arrive, but Yanzi and the Fire Starter were uncertain. Compared to the mission, Scissorhand preferred skinning people.

As things stood now, achieving a 30% completion rate for the mission to blow up the Twin Tower would already be impressive.

Completing this Nightmare-level task was normally impossible; if completed, it would actually be strange.

Do what can be done.

According to the patrol route, he should head to the basement level, the Twin Tower’s power center, intending to cut off the entire building’s power supply.

”Yamanaka.”

Suddenly, a solemn voice of the first leader of the Mountain Beak Group, Yamamoto Hiroshi, echoed in his mind.

Simultaneously, a holographic projection of a dignified middle-aged man appeared.

”President!” Yamanaka Kaera bowed respectfully. Thanks to the gang’s implanted chip, Yamamoto Hiroshi could see his every movement, even when he was with women.

”Come to the 99th floor, I have something to discuss with you.”

”Now?” Yamanaka Kaera looked astonished. ”But my patrol task.”

”That’s not important.”

Yamanaka Kaera fell silent.

”What, are you planning to defy my orders?” Yamamoto Hiroshi’s tone tinged with anger.

In an angle unseen by others, Yamanaka Kaera’s lips slowly curled up. He gently touched his chin region, and soon, the implanted human skin was ripped away, revealing the elegant and melancholic face of someone reminiscent of a famous Liu.

He arrogantly straightened, casually pressing the elevator button for the basement level.

”I’m afraid that’s impossible, President.”

”So, you’re the No. 5 of the Evil Jade Clan!”

”Most people call me Liu Dehua.”

”You traitor!”

Liu Dehua calmly said, ”Every organization has its sellouts; why can’t that person be me?”

Liu Dehua slowly took out a small knife, carefully inserting it into his chest, skillfully dismantling the surveillance chip, causing Yamamoto Hiroshi’s holographic image to blur.

No one knew that this No. 5 of the Evil Jade Clan had a side role as a Prosthetic Doctor.

”President, I don’t know when you found out about my identity, but it shouldn’t be too early. Otherwise, the Madam would not have fallen into my hands.”

”What did you say!?”

”If you want to ensure the Madam’s safety, I’d personally advise you to withdraw your men. Otherwise, I can’t guarantee what I might do, given how beautiful and well-shaped she is.”

’Crack—’

The bloodstained surveillance chip was tossed down, and Yamamoto Hiroshi’s holographic image immediately disappeared.

The next moment, the elevator stopped with a ’crack’ and a sudden halt.

”As expected, the President is ruthless, good thing I was prepared and got with the Madam in advance, no loss there.”

Liu Dehua sighed, his surrounding holographic images vanished, and at the fourth-floor corner, his figure reappeared.

[Open Virtual Projection], a blueprint once used by someone.

At this stage, a small number of players have mastered the methods of gambling for blueprints and crafting equipment.

And these players will inevitably increase in number.

’Probably can earn about 1 minute of time.’

Liu Dehua vaulted over the railing, sprinting towards the basement level. In less than 30 seconds, footsteps sounded from downstairs, and a group of similarly dressed men in suits, all gang elites at level 15, charged upward with stern expressions. They drew guns with one hand, plucked knives with the other, and the implanted blades, with a forceful flick of their wrists, extended more than three feet.
