Reincarnation Paradise Park

Chapter 60: Chapter 28: Blood of Madness

Under the dim streetlight, a large group of flying insects had gathered.

The midnight street, a gunshot pierced the serenity of the night sky.

Su Xiao looked towards the direction of the gunshot; it was probably Shuuzou Suzuya already engaging with the enemy contractors. He pressed the Bluetooth headset on his ear.

”Suzuya.”

No one answered; Shuuzou Suzuya might have dropped the Bluetooth headset accidentally during the battle.

Su Xiao didn’t know the strength of that sniper, but Shuuzou Suzuya should be capable of holding them off.

Right now, the priority is to deal with the female Shield Warrior in front of him.

After being healed by Yezi, the Queen’s health had recovered to 67%.

There was no denying, the green-clothed girl named Yezi had very powerful healing abilities.

The Queen watched Su Xiao warily. She had already picked up the shield beside her, but because Su Xiao had chopped off her right arm, holding the shield was a bit awkward.

”Even if all three attributes were balanced, it wouldn’t be possible to have such a terrifying attack power, plus the kind of blue light that comes with excruciating pain—there’s no mistake, you already have a career template.”

The Queen had experienced three Derivative Worlds, her experience far surpassing ordinary contractors.

”Who knows.”

What Su Xiao wanted most right now was to deal with the support type contractors hidden in the dark.

But due to the ’Mithril Chain’s’ restraint, he couldn’t be more than 30 meters away from the female Shield Warrior.

It’s undoubtedly an annoying skill, this female Shield Warrior is very tough to cut down, combined with the hidden support contractor, he couldn’t kill her instantly.

The situation with Shuuzou Suzuya was unclear, so a swift victory was more prudent.

Su Xiao rushed to the Queen in a few steps, reversing the long knife in his hand and striking the shield harshly with the handle.

”Bang.”

A dull sound rang out, and the Queen’s hand holding the shield bore significant pressure.

When dealing with enemies holding shields, blunt attacks were far more effective than cleaves.

The Queen gritted her teeth, smashing the shield fiercely towards Su Xiao, with an air of desperate struggle.

Su Xiao didn’t confront directly; after fighting until now he had also sustained some minor injuries. Earlier, while using the shield to block a bullet, he suffered a strong shock, his health dropping to about 85%.

Nimbly sidestepping the shield attack, Su Xiao rolled his arm, gripping the edge of the shield with his left hand.

The Queen internally wailed, ”Not again.”

Grasping the edge of the Queen’s shield, Su Xiao lowered his eyes, a smirk appearing at his lips.

”Being a Shield Warrior, yet unable to hold your shield? You might as well die.”

Su Xiao’s left hand pulled back, Dragon Slash in his right hand stabbed forward.

The Queen now had two choices: abandon the shield or be pierced by Su Xiao.

If she abandoned the shield, she would be completely exposed to Su Xiao, and his formidable attack power left the Queen somewhat despairing.

But if she didn’t abandon the shield, she would be struck by Su Xiao, the previously heart-wrenching pain unforgettable for a lifetime.

Ultimately, the Queen chose to abandon the shield, retreating to avoid Su Xiao’s long knife.

After seizing the Queen’s shield, Su Xiao hurled it far away.

With a clang, the door-sized metal shield crashed into a street-side shop, causing chaos inside, the shield leaning against a row of shelves, a few bottles of shampoo rolling onto the shield.

The Queen stood silent for a few seconds, then spoke:

”Today we took the initiative to attack you; I am willing to pay 10,000 Paradise coins as compensation for mental distress. Let’s cease fighting, otherwise, we may both suffer greatly.”

Realizing that Su Xiao was not easily provoked, the Queen decided to concede a little.

”Hand over the money first.”

Su Xiao planned to gain something out of nothing.

”Okay.”

Reincarnation Paradise’s notification appeared in front of Su Xiao.

[Contractor number ***** requests a temporary contract with you.]

[In this Derivative World, you shall not attack any members of team *****, and likewise, members ***** shall not harm you...]

[Upon achieving this contract, contractor number ***** will pay 10,000 Paradise coins as a contract reward.]

[Note: This contract is notarized by Reincarnation Paradise, and no one can violate it.]

[Note: The contract was drafted by the initiator; Hunters should read carefully. If a contract violation occurs, Reincarnation Paradise will impose a penalty.]

[Contract breach penalty: deduction of 300,000 Paradise coins.]

[Do you agree to sign the contract? Yes/No]

Su Xiao marveled as he finished reading the contract; he didn’t know Reincarnation Paradise had such a function.

After inquiring, he also learned he could draft contracts, though it would cost 50 Paradise coins.

Su Xiao of course chose to refuse the Queen’s contract; he originally intended to gain something for nothing, but he hadn’t expected Reincarnation Paradise would have a contract feature.

Since the other side chose to attack him, he wouldn’t let it go lightly.

Noticing Su Xiao’s refusal, the Queen’s expression changed.

”What do you mean?”

”What do you mean? Of course, I’m going to kill you.”

Su Xiao took out a salt rice ball, stuffing it directly into his mouth and swallowing, the salt rice ball could restore 10% of life energy, being a good supply item.

”Don’t push me.”

The Queen’s voice was somewhat icy.

”Heh~ hahahaha~.”

Su Xiao, wielding a sharp blade, suddenly burst into laughter.

”Laying bombs on the path I travel, and you say don’t push you? If I don’t cut off your head today, this fight won’t end.”

Su Xiao’s gaze shifted to a small alley by the street.

”You just hide there, after I finish with her, you’re next.”

At this moment, Su Xiao was fierce to the extreme, while the support contractor Yezi crouched lower in the alley, scared.

As a support type, Yezi rarely participated in battles, so her courage was somewhat lacking.

The Queen knew she was in the wrong and stopped talking, but a vial and knight sword appeared in her hand.

The vial contained a bright red liquid, which was a bit viscous.

”Yezi, keep an eye on my life energy at all times.”

The Queen yelled, then drank the potion, lifting her head.

”Peh~ tastes horrible.”

After drinking the unknown liquid, whisker-like marks appeared on the Queen’s face, and dark red energy surfaced on her body.

”The power just keeps flowing.”

In just a few seconds, the Queen’s once pitch-black eyes had turned into blood-red beast pupils.

An extremely ominous feeling arose; Su Xiao didn’t immediately charge forward but instead used [Basic Detection].

[Consumed 10 Mana Value, Basic Detection activated, obtained the following information.]

Contractor: No. 11740. (Berserk state)

Strength: 6+10

Agility: 5+10

Stamina: ???

Intelligence: 5

Charm: 6

Skill 2: Secondary Demon Fox Bloodline (Temporary Passive), Power, Agility, Stamina attributes +10.

Skill 3: Blood of Madness (Temporary Passive), random attribute checks every 10 seconds; failure results in chaotic state. (Random attribute check: Randomly select an attribute from the five for checking.)

Skill 4: ???

Skill 5: ???

Skill 6: ???

...

Su Xiao’s mouth twitched; what did this woman drink to gain temporary passive skills boosting Power, Agility, and Stamina by +10?

Even though her combat strength soared, she was no better off, losing 3% Life Value every second meant she would die in 34 seconds.

Of course, with the support contractor in the distance, this time would be extended a bit.

”Roar!!”

A roar like a wild beast echoed, and the Queen was unlucky, her skill three’s ’random attribute check’ chose the Charm attribute in the first round, check failed!
