Not Being a Trainer This Time

Buildings collapsed, and raging flames burst into life throughout the town.

The screams and cries of humans and Pokemon were drowned out by deafening explosions.

The townsfolk, who still had no idea what was happening, rushed out of their houses together with their Pokemon.

Suddenly, one of the town’s undamaged broadcast systems crackled to life.

”Attention all residents! Arceus has awakened, the Creator God is carrying out punishment upon humanity. Please get to the emergency shelter behind the Pokemon Center as quickly as possible!”

”Attention all residents......”

”...”

The announcement repeated three times in a row, and those who heard it all started running toward the Pokemon Center.

Very soon, that underground shelter, which had only recently been completed, was packed full of humans and Pokemon.

Inside the shelter, Miss Jenny and the Growlithe were urgently evacuating people and maintaining order, while Miss Joy and the Chansey were providing emergency treatment and bandaging for the injured townsfolk and Pokemon.

Some townsfolk who weren’t hurt felt deeply relieved.

”Giratina really wasn’t wrong! Arceus has truly awakened!”

”Good thing we listened to Giratina’s advice and built this shelter in town ahead of time...”

At this point, everyone’s faces were filled with lingering fear.

If they hadn’t made preparations when Giratina gave its warning, the consequences would have been unimaginable...

”Boom!”

In the town, a Garchomp swung its Dragon Claw, shattering the broken crossbeam in front of it.

Behind it stood a young woman in a black trench coat, with long golden hair.

Beneath the beam, several weak little Pokemon, previously trapped in the darkness and surrounded by flames, had been shivering in fear; suddenly, light returned to them, and they couldn’t help but lift their heads in a daze to look outside.

Cynthia frowned, shot a glance at Arceus in the sky, then spoke to the Pokemon:

”Can you still move? Hurry and get out of here. Go to the shelter with everyone else!”

The few Pokemon stared blankly for a moment. Cynthia and Garchomp carried them out and checked their conditions; seeing that they could still move, they set them down on the ground.

The Pokemon reacted quickly, gave a few grateful looks to the human and the powerful Pokemon in front of them, then ran off with the larger group toward the shelter.

Cynthia let out a small breath of relief.

She raised her head, her beautiful eyes filled with worry as she gazed at that holy figure towering in the sky, and muttered:

”So that’s the god that created the world?”

”Urr...” At the top of a tall tree, Teddiursa frowned, staring at the distant sky.

Beside it, Mew also sensed a terrifying aura, and a grave expression appeared on its face.

”Miu!”

The two members of the Heroic Expedition Team watched as that terrifying Pokemon went berserk, destroying everything around it; even the worldly-wise Mew was stunned at the sight of such a scene.

Many Pokemon on the Ground had been caught up in the devastation; everyone was fleeing and trying to hide.

Mew and Teddiursa helped the forest Pokemon to escape as they kept glancing back at that dreadful Pokemon.

With power that terrifying, could the two of them possibly stand against that Pokemon?

What in the world were they supposed to do...

At the same time, in Naoki Ranch.

Naoki was at home, petting Pokemon, when he suddenly received a message from Giratina.

[Giratina: Naoki, Arceus has awakened! We have to get over there, fast!]

Seeing this message, Naoki shot to his feet, pulling on clothes and donning his mask as he spoke rapidly to the Phone Rotom:

”Rotom, help me get in touch with Kyogre, Groudon, Mewtwo, Ho-oh, Rayquaza, Calyrex. Have everyone gather in the Reversed World! We’re setting out!”
