Not Being a Trainer This Time

The white mist surged around, even the ground was completely covered by a layer of mist, submerging up to Naoki’s calves.

Everything around disappeared, leaving only a vast expanse of whiteness between heaven and earth.

Naoki stood in place with a furrowed brow, calmly contemplating.

First of all, the mist must be created by Tapu Fini’s power, its mist can create illusions to confuse intruders...

But, the problem is that Tapu Fini in the anime wasn’t depicted so exaggeratedly!

Or could it be that the Tapu Fini in the anime hid its true power, or perhaps its powers go far beyond this.

Especially regarding the light gate ahead.

Is that also Tapu Fini’s power?

Naoki furrowed his brow in thought, the scene before him had clearly surpassed his expectations, where were Koraidon and the others?

Thinking of this, Naoki instinctively reached to touch his waist pocket.

Originally, it held the Poke Balls of Gogoat and Dragonite, yet now the pocket was empty, both Dragonite and Gogoat were gone.

Naoki’s heart tightened, Dragonite and Gogoat had disappeared too...what on earth was happening?

”Is this the illusion Tapu Fini created for me?”

”Is that gate the place of Tapu Fini’s punishment? What could be inside?”

Several questions floated in Naoki’s mind.

After pondering for a moment, Naoki turned and ran in the opposite direction, attempting to find the edge of the mist.

However, after running for more than ten minutes, everything around still looked the same, unchanged, as if he’d returned to the starting point.

He’s caught in a loop!

Naoki, panting heavily, looked ahead.

That strange glow stood persistently in the surging white mist, seemingly waiting for his entry.

”I’ve been trapped...”

Naoki slightly furrowed his brow, he took out the Rotom Phone, attempting to contact the outside world, but discovered even the Rotom Phone had vanished.

It seemed Tapu Fini was determined to have him enter that gate.

”Well, there’s no other option now, let’s go in and take a look!”

If Naoki recalled correctly, in the anime, Tapu Fini once got angry due to Kiawe’s destructive behavior on the land.

Yet it did not harm Kiawe but instead gave Kiawe a test.

After Kiawe completed it, Tapu Fini’s anger was quelled, rescuing Ash and others.

Is this also Tapu Fini’s test for him?

After completion, could it rescue the trapped Koraidon and others?

Thinking this, Naoki made up his mind and stepped into the light gate.

In a modern city shimmering with neon lights, amidst a towering skyscraper, Naoki suddenly awoke from his sleep.

”Did I fall asleep accidentally?”

Glancing at the time, he realized it was already half past ten at night.

Naoki rubbed his sore eyes, thinking he really shouldn’t work late at the office for a bit of overtime pay.

The vast office building only had him left.

His colleagues hadn’t even bothered to alert him when they left...

Oh well, he should pack up and go home!

Getting up, Naoki packed his things, grabbed his phone, went downstairs, and caught the last subway back to his rented room.

Late at night on the subway, there were hardly any people, the outside window was completely dark, reflecting a weary face.

Naoki stared blankly at his reflection in the glass, a feeling suddenly arose in his heart, as if he’d forgotten something very important...

He couldn’t remember...

Was he just too tired lately?

Recently, the company developed a new game project, the game was called [Cooking Master], a garbage game with a food theme to lure players to spend money.

Naoki happened to be in charge of this project.

Thinking about his work, Naoki’s mind instinctively recalled the game’s settings.

[Cooking Master] is a nurturing type game, where players possess magical abilities in the setting.

The dishes they create can provide the characters in the game with various attributes, enhancements, and other bizarre magical abilities.

The enhancement magnitude and quality are correlated with the level of dishes made by the player, like most junk games, the dish levels are divided from F- to SSS.

The level of cooking is closely related to the rarity of ingredients, their quality, and the player’s culinary skills.

Of course, most of the rare ingredients and recipes require drawing from a lottery.

”I must be too exhausted lately, even after work I can’t stop thinking about work...” Naoki shook his head, dismissing such cluttered thoughts from his mind.

Coincidentally, the subway reached the station, Naoki got off the train, returned to his rented room, and after washing up, he laid on his bed and started playing his favorite Pokemon Scarlet on the switch.

Seeing those adorable, handsome Pokemon on the screen, Naoki couldn’t help but smile.

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if there were really Pokemon in this world!

Naoki sighed, he activated the camping function, began bathing his Koraidon and other Pokemon, then made sandwiches together.

After cleaning all the Pokemon, Naoki prepared to get on with his main task for the day.

The main story had ended, he recently captured a Kubfu and now needed to go to Porto Marinada Town to purchase an item for Kubfu’s evolution in the auction at Porto Marinada Market.
