Not Being a Trainer This Time

Phone Rotom helped connect the call, and the next second, Naoki’s face appeared on the screen.

Naoki had already returned to the ranch, and he found an excuse to go to a place with no one to call Groudon.

”What’s up? Is there something you need, Groudon?”

However, as he spoke, Naoki’s gaze suddenly fell on the burly and handsome bear-type Pokemon beside him.

”!!!” Naoki immediately widened his eyes: ”Urshifu? You’ve evolved?!”

Urshifu scratched his head, showing a simple smile, and nodded: ”Woo-ah!”

Seeing Naoki ignore him, Groudon’s expression became even darker.

”Ura Ura Ura!” Groudon let out a string of angry roars.

The Earth God’s fury instantly caused nearby volcanoes to erupt, the ground to tremble, and scalding hot water to gush out from the surface.

Only then did Naoki and Urshifu turn their attention to Groudon.

Groudon’s angry voice was automatically translated by Phone Rotom and conveyed through a mechanical sound.

”Why did you only call Kyogre and not me, do you look down on me?! In what way is that guy better than me?! I’m obviously the strongest Pokemon! What help can it provide? I can help even more!”

Naoki: ”...”

Urshifu: ”...”

Naoki is surprised that Groudon and Kyogre would compete over such a matter.

Seeing him silent, Groudon became even angrier.

Soon, the volcanoes erupted higher, and it seemed like a rain of lava was falling from the sky. Naoki even saw a frightened Moltres hurriedly flying out from a distant cave.

Seeing this, Naoki quickly explained to Groudon:

”It’s not what you think, this time I called Kyogre because I’m about to face a strong enemy. Ground-type moves cannot hurt it, only Kyogre’s Water-type attacks and Calyrex’s Grass-type attacks are effective against it.”

Groudon: ”?”

What strong enemy? And only Kyogre can fight it?

Groudon was somewhat skeptical, why can Kyogre do it and not me!

Groudon snorted coldly: ”Indeed, you think I’m inferior to that guy!”

Naoki: ”...”

”Since that’s the case, I’ll tell you everything!”

Groudon put on a look as if to say, let’s see what story you can come up with.

Naoki sighed and then carefully introduced the formidable enemy they would face next.

”It is Arceus, the Creator God of this world.”

Just one sentence caused Groudon to furrow his brows.

What Creator God? Why has it never heard of before?

”Legend has it that a long, long time ago, this world was just a void.”

Saying this, Naoki paused, thinking Groudon might not know what void means, he explained:

”Void means there’s absolutely nothing in the world, no flowers, no trees, and certainly no humans or Pokemon.”

”Arceus existed in this void, perhaps feeling lonely and desolate, or maybe for other reasons, thus creating the world we live in.”

”It’s said that initially, the world was barren, with only vast oceans and land. Then gradually, Mew began to appear.”

”After creating the world, Arceus fell into slumber. Since the world was born from it, everything is under its control. The Origin Power that created the world turned into multiple plates, and as long as the plates exist, we cannot harm it.”

Upon hearing this, Groudon expressed skepticism.

”Then why can Kyogre hurt it?”

”That’s because Arceus has now lost several Origin Creation Plates, and Kyogre’s corresponding Water Plate happens to be one of them.”

”Once, Arceus was deceived by some ill-intentioned humans, resulting in severe injuries and falling into slumber.”

”And now, it is about to awaken. The angry Arceus has lost all reason, and will impose sanctions on humans. Therefore, I seek the help of Kyogre and Ho-oh to stop Arceus from sanctioning humans and bring it back to its senses.”

Groudon noticed another point: ”Why is Ho-oh useful as well?”

Naoki: ”…Because Ho-oh’s powers are very special, its Holy Ash can heal any injuries in the world.”

Upon hearing this, Groudon roughly understood what was happening.

Reason may emerge, but the very thought of Kyogre getting to go while it couldn’t made Groudon feel unreasonably defiant.

It’s not fair! What Creator God, if Kyogre can do it, then I definitely can too!

”I want to go too, I can be of help!” Groudon’s tone was irrefutable.

Naoki & Urshifu: ”...”

It might not be impossible.

If that’s the case, let Groudon be a meat shield then!

At the time, it could attract Arceus’s hatred and attacks in front, creating a favorable environment for Kyogre and Calyrex to output effectively.

”Alright.” Naoki agreed: ”Since that’s the case, please lend us your helping hand then!”

Groudon was satisfied.

Just wait! It definitely will not lose to Kyogre!

After ending the conversation with Groudon, Naoki took the opportunity to say a couple of things to the newly evolved Urshifu.

”Urshifu, when did you evolve?”

Urshifu answered honestly: ”Woo-ah.” (Just now, Master Kyogre said I could go with it to help you.)

”I see...” Looking at the Urshifu across from him, Naoki felt happy in his heart.
