Not Being a Trainer This Time

”Hmm!” Chirali nodded happily and then volunteered, ”Big brother, do you want to find the Guardian God Tapu Fini? If so, let me help! We can go to the elder, the elder must know where Tapu Fini resides!”

With that, Chirali pulled Naoki to the front of a wooden house in the center of the village.

She stood on her tiptoes and knocked on the door, ”Elder Celestic Town, a guest is here to visit!”

Soon, the door opened, and an elder with a bald head and a thick white beard under his nose came out.

”What is it, little Chirali?”

Chirali: ”This big brother over here is a Trainer participating in the Island Pilgrimage, and he wants to find our Guardian God Tapu Fini to complete the Guardian God’s trial!”

”What? Island Pilgrimage?” The elder was shocked and quickly glanced at the man beside him.

Naoki showed him his Proof of the Pilgrimage to the Islands, ”This is my proof of participating in the Island Pilgrimage, and I’ve already completed the trial on Melemele Island.”

The elder took the proof, glanced at it, and then said with some difficulty, ”But... there is no King of the Island on Poni Island anymore, and the Guardian God hasn’t appeared for a long time...”

The King of the Island is chosen by the Guardian God, but since the last King of the Island passed away, Tapu Fini has never appeared in the town again.

”Ah? What should we do?” Chirali was very worried.

The elder thought carefully for a while, then provided a possible location for Tapu Fini.

”However, at the southeastern corner of Poni Island, there is the Ruins of Hope used for the worship of the Guardian God. It is called the Land of Life’s End by people of the past. You should check it out, tourists reportedly sighted the Guardian God near there recently; maybe the Guardian God can sense your intentions and appear.”

Ruins of Hope? With the clue to Tapu Fini, Naoki immediately nodded, then expressed his gratitude to Chirali and the elder.

”Thank you very much, elder Celestic Town, and Chirali, thank you for showing me around the village. These are specialties from my hometown, consider them a token of appreciation!”

With that, Naoki took out several bottles of Life Sheep Milk and Pokeblocks from his backpack and gave them away.

”Goodbye!”

Chirali stared dumbfoundedly at the gifts in her arms, still in a daze, watching her guest leave with his Pokémon.

Poni Island, Eastern Poni Breaker Coast.

Following the navigation of the map app, Naoki successfully arrived at the Ancient Ruins used for the worship of Tapu Fini.

He calmly surveyed the surroundings, but did not find any trace of Tapu Fini.

Naoki meticulously recalled everything related to Tapu Fini.

According to what he knew, Tapu Fini, unlike Tapu Koko, did not enjoy Pokémon battles. It cared greatly for the land of Poni Island and would instantly punish anyone engaging in activities that might damage the land.

In the anime, Ash and Kiawe angered Tapu Fini by having a Pokémon battle at the Ruins of Hope.

The Pokémon moves damaged the land, infuriating Tapu Fini, which then appeared, utilizing dense fog to trap Ash and Kiawe.

Having thought of this, a plan immediately formed in Naoki’s mind.

Got it!

If Pokémon battles can attract Tapu Fini’s attention, then Naoki will use this method to draw out Tapu Fini!

Naoki immediately pulled out a Poké Ball from his pocket.

The white light flashed, and Pawmot’s figure appeared in the ruins, confusedly looking around the environment, ”Pawmo?”

On this outing, Naoki only brought Koraidon, Pawmot, Dragonite, and Gogoat with him, leaving the other Pokémon at the ranch to sunbathe.

”Pawmot, have a battle with Koraidon!” Naoki said.

Upon hearing this, both Pawmot and Koraidon were taken aback.

”Pawmo?!”

”Ugh?!?”

”Of course, it’s just to stage an act, to attract that Pokémon named Tapu Fini!” Naoki whispered, ”Make sure to use moves of small power, don’t damage the land here.”

The two Pokémon immediately understood Naoki’s plan.

”Pawmo...” Pawmot sighed in relief.

Koraidon also displayed a look of sudden realization.

”Alright, let’s begin!” Naoki said.

”Pawmo!”

”Ugh!”

Pawmot and Koraidon promptly started the Pokémon battle, imitating earnestly.

Pawmot swung its small hammer and charged forward fiercely, Koraidon also looked solemn, clenched its right paw into a fist and met it head-on.

The two Pokemon collided, producing a ”boom” sound.

Koraidon and Pawmot exchanged meaningful glances.

The next moment, a surge of yellow electric current was released from Pawmot’s body, enveloping Koraidon’s body.

”Argh!” Koraidon immediately let out a cry of pain.

However, the thunder was loud, but the rain was small.

The current released by Pawmot had only the power of ten volts, and couldn’t actually harm Koraidon.

Seeing Koraidon’s state, Pawmot couldn’t help but feel speechless, and whispered: ”Pamo...”

Koraidon roared, turned back, and used ”Close Combat” on Pawmot, sending it flying.

Koraidon’s strength was very small, and Pawmot quickly steadied itself after being thrown out, but it remembered Naoki’s instructions, so it cooperatively fell backward, showing a painful expression, and let out a sound to match its act of being hurt.

”Pamo!”

Koraidon: ”...Argh.” Still saying it!

Naoki glanced at the two acting Pokemon, then began to focus on the surroundings.

At first, everything was fine.

But as the battle between Koraidon and Pawmot intensified, gradually, a faint mist began to appear around the ruins.

Tapu Fini was attracted over!

Very well, Naoki felt satisfied in his heart, and said to the two Pokemon: ”Continue!”

In a hidden corner, Tapu Fini angrily watched those two Pokemon destroying its beloved land.

Such actions should be punished!

”Fini!”

Tapu Fini let out an angry cry.

Suddenly, more mist appeared in the air.

The mist kept spreading, quickly engulfing the entire ruins.

”Koraidon, Pawmot!”

In almost the blink of an eye, the surrounding scenery turned into a vast expanse of white, Naoki immediately called out to Koraidon and Pawmot to come to him.

Yet, a strange scene occurred, in just four or five meters, Naoki received no response from the two Pokemon!

His heart sank, and he immediately ran towards where Koraidon and Pawmot were, but after three minutes of running, he still couldn’t find the silhouettes of Pawmot and Koraidon.

Instead, a circular light gate emitting a faint glow suddenly appeared in front of him.

Naoki: ”?”

Meanwhile, Tapu Fini, controlling the thick mist, suddenly felt a terrifying aura.

The mist it had released was out of control!

Tapu Fini’s face was filled with surprise, it could clearly sense that an unknown force had intervened!

”Fini...” Tapu Fini looked incredulously at its own hands.

Just then, a magnificent and sacred voice, indistinguishable in gender, rang in its ears.

”Fear not, leave it to me here!”

”Fini?!” Tapu Fini quickly turned its head to look around, but it saw nothing.

”I am here.” The voice sounded again.

Tapu Fini turned its head to the right, and then, it saw a majestic figure radiating a holy light there.

Infinite power surged from its body, the light was so divine that it made one instinctively want to bow down and worship from the heart.

In that moment, Tapu Fini felt as if it had seen, once again, the Pokemon regarded by humans as the Radiant God, Ultra Necrozma from millions of years ago!

Yet the aura emanating from the other was vastly different from that of the Radiant God...

At this moment, Tapu Fini couldn’t help but ask: ”Fini?” (Who are you?)

Arceus did not turn around, yet its voice echoed out of thin air:

”I am Arceus, the God who created this world.”
