Not Being a Trainer This Time

Professor Oak was very happy to see Ash: ”Is that really Ash? Have you already visited the Pokémon Center nearby?”

”That’s right, Professor Oak, I have something I’d like to report to you.” Ash nodded.

Just as he was reporting about the gratitude Pokemon, Shaymin, Ash suddenly noticed Gary and Naoki behind him.

Ash was stunned and said incredulously: ”Gary? And Mr. Naoki? How come you’re here?”

”Haha!” Professor Oak said with a laugh: ”We’re currently in the Paldea Region, with Gary and me leading a summer camp at Naoki’s ranch.”

Naoki: ”...” Well, this is quite a coincidence.

”I see!” Ash realized and then said: ”Oh right, Professor Oak, I encountered something today.”

Ash turned his head to the side, and Dawn, holding Shaymin, moved beside the video phone.

Upon seeing the Pokémon, Professor Oak was quite surprised: ”Is that Pokémon the gratitude Pokémon, Shaymin?”

”That’s right.”

Ash responded affirmatively, and then he slowly began to recount the events of the day to Professor Oak.

Including meeting Shaymin, being sucked into the Reversed World by Giratina, and meeting a person named Newton, who helped him escape back to the real world.

Shaymin in Dawn’s arms expressed fear: ”Chimi almost got eaten, I say!”

Professor Oak frowned upon hearing this: ”Giratina... wants to eat Shaymin?”

Could there be some kind of unknown food chain between these two Pokémon?

But that shouldn’t be!

As far as he knows, Legendary Pokémon like Giratina don’t usually need to eat and won’t harm other Pokémon.

In nearly a century, there has been no sighting of Giratina hunting Shaymin.

”By the way, Mr. Newton also told us one thing...” Ash continued: ”He said that the fight between Dialga and Palkia in Alamos Town affected Giratina, and Giratina was angry, so it was tracking Dialga, wanting to drag it into the Reversed World.”

”But it was interrupted by Shaymin, causing Dialga to escape the Reversed World, and then Giratina started to pursue Shaymin.”

Naoki: ”...” Seriously pursuing Shaymin!

Though Giratina is a bit ill-tempered, it wouldn’t chase a weak Pokémon like that, right?

Naoki recalled his first encounter with Giratina, being bombarded for over half an hour, thinking maybe it wasn’t impossible after all.

”Has the Reversed World also been affected by Dialga and Palkia?” Professor Oak pondered, finding the relationship between these worlds quite interesting.

Naoki then took the opportunity to speak: ”By the way, Ash, you just mentioned that when Dialga used its power, Giratina couldn’t leave the Reversed World?”

”That’s right!” Ash nodded.

”I think I might understand why Giratina is relentlessly pursuing Shaymin.” Naoki timely revealed the truth.

Ash on the other side of the phone was slightly surprised: ”What is it?”

”You just said Dialga escaped the Reversed World because of Shaymin and sealed the world behind it, preventing Giratina from leaving.” Naoki explained.

”Yes, that’s exactly how it happened.” Ash nodded in agreement.

”Is it possible that Shaymin has the power to open a portal from the inside of the Reversed World to the real world, and Giratina saw Shaymin open the portal, allowing Dialga to escape, so it wants to find Shaymin to use some move to escape Dialga’s seal?” Naoki posited.

Upon hearing this possibility, everyone present was momentarily surprised.

Ash, Dawn, and Brock looked down at Shaymin.

And Shaymin delved into reflection.

After a while, Shaymin spoke: ”Chimi was so scared at the time, so chimi used Seed Flare!”

”That’s it!” Naoki affirmed.

Shaymin finally realized and responded: ”So, if chimi uses Seed Flare again, then Giratina won’t eat chimi?”

Naoki: ”...” Giratina probably wouldn’t eat Shaymin, it’s likely preoccupied with finding Dialga and Palkia to exact revenge.

”So that’s how it is!” Dawn suddenly understood, mentioning how Giratina had had opportunities to attack them previously but didn’t.

”If that’s the case, then let’s go find Giratina and use Seed Flare to help it lift the seal!” Ash quickly decided.

”Yes, if Giratina is released, it might continue searching for Dialga and Palkia...” Professor Oak contemplated: ”But now those two Legendary Pokémon have likely returned to their respective dimensions, so even if the Reversed World’s seal is lifted, it doesn’t matter. Go ahead, Ash!”

”Yes!”

Understanding the truth behind Giratina’s pursuit of Shaymin, Ash and the others were very pleased.

After responding, Ash hung up the phone, preparing to go with Shaymin to find Giratina and help it break the restrictions set by Dialga.

Seeing this, Naoki felt relieved, thinking everything should be okay now.

Gary and Professor Oak returned to the kids with goat milk.

And Naoki stayed in the room for a while longer, only heading out ten minutes later wearing a Cyclizar mask, along with several Pokémon.
