Not Being a Trainer This Time

This past year, Koraidon traveled to many places, hoping to find that person, yet it all ended in vain.

It could no longer find that person.

With a heart full of despair, Koraidon gazed at the setting sun on the horizon and let out a long, mournful howl.

It wandered beneath the sunset, like a lost dog with its tail tucked, disheartened and aimless.

The following year, Koraidon returned to Porto Marinada Town.

It did not return to Mayor Thomas’s house but went instead to the farm that had appeared in its dreams.

The once-abandoned farm had now become a luxurious estate.

Koraidon did not disturb the humans living there but stayed, day after day, waiting for that person to return.

As time slowly passed, Koraidon grew old and eventually closed its eyes forever on a drizzling rainy day.

In the Paldea Region, in Cascarrafa City, within a moderately famous Pokemon Research Institute.

Ever since being brought here by that kind-hearted human girl, Pawmi, like the other Pokemon in the institute, waited every day for the professor’s feeding or hoped to meet a good Trainer.

Gradually, the other Pokemon familiar with Pawmi were taken by new trainers at the age of ten to become their starter Pokemon.

The professor initially intended to give this little Pawmi to a new trainer as their starter Pokemon to travel with.

However, upon investigation, he found that due to its previous experiences, Pawmi’s health had diminished significantly, its innate abilities were poor, and it even took several minutes to generate a weak electric current.

This was undoubtedly fatal for an Electric Type Pokemon, which is why no one wanted to choose it.

Pawmi also wished to become stronger; it often reminisced about life at the abandoned farm, where it would frequently climb onto the roof to watch Bird-type Pokemon fly overhead.

Pawmi too wanted to soar into the sky like those Bird-type Pokemon, but it was unable.

With no Trainer willing to choose it, Pawmi could only continue living in the Eco Garden.

In the blink of an eye, decades passed.

The now elderly Pawmi passed away in sadness within the Eco Garden where it had spent its entire life, never again seeing its parents.

Every day in the rest of Dragonite’s life, it went to that cliff.

Dragon Type Pokemon have incredibly long lifespans, so much so that eventually, even Dragonite forgot why it had come to this place.

Over the long years, Dragonite met many humans.

These humans wanted to capture it, some of them being quite powerful Trainers.

Dragonite did not wish to be captured, but those humans’ Pokemon were strong, and after defeating it, they used a Poke Ball to capture it.

But once Dragonite awoke, it adamantly resisted and ran away.

Even Dragonite itself did not understand why it was compelled to do so.

The Trainer chased after it, and upon discovering it did not wish to become a human’s Pokemon, released it from the Poke Ball.

The rumors of Dragonite at Casseroya Lake attracted more and more humans.

Yet Dragonite remained unmoved, lost in its own world, following the footsteps of the moon to this place every day.

Time flew by swiftly, and in the blink of an eye, hundreds of years had passed.

Dragonite’s life came to an end, and with unresolved questions persisting throughout its life, it closed its eyes forever, resting eternally on the cliff.

On the west side of Casseroya Lake.

In search of lush grass and juicy, delicious Berries, Skiddo bravely came here.

However, just as it prepared to pick a Berry from the tree, it was suddenly attacked by a wild Pokemon.

The wild Pokemon was incredibly powerful, and Skiddo was no match, resulting in a desperate retreat.

With severe injuries, it hid in a cave and, unable to receive timely treatment, ultimately lost its life due to its injuries.

As all illusions ended, Arceus fell into rare silence, merely staring at the few figures within the mist.

Is this the bond between humans and Pokemon?

At this moment, Arceus clearly witnessed the force known as ”bonds” flowing between that human and those Pokemon.

Skiddo’s life was too brief; had it not met that human, its life would have ended much earlier.

Arceus was not surprised, for such things frequently occurred in the wild.

What surprised Him most was the human’s other three Pokemon.

Even with their memories sealed, that Dragonite continued to follow its instincts, going to that cliff every day, perhaps unaware of what it awaited.

And that Pawmot, once the timid Pawmi, had grown into a courageous and reliable Pokemon after meeting that human?

The meeting of humans and Pokemon is truly wondrous.

Of course, what surprised Arceus the most was the Pokemon called Koraidon.

No, more accurately, it should be referred to as Cyclizar.

Arceus could see that its bond with Naoki was the deepest, so profound that it became an obsession, and even with its memories sealed, it could still recall everything.

Is it the body’s instincts?
