Not Being a Trainer This Time

Chapter 495: Chapter 289: Heroic Expedition Team in Action!

On a warm spring afternoon, the room was filled with the sweet aroma of cream.

Naoki took the freshly baked cake base out of the oven, cut it in half with a knife, then added Berry chunks inside, and finally spread black chocolate and Alcremie’s cream on top.

Thus, a brand new Green Grass Cake was completed.

[Green Grass Cake (A+): A cake made with mature summer grass, flour, MooMoo Fresh Milk, special Berries, and Alcremie’s cream.

Cooking Effect: Flower Trick. When given to a Grass Type Pokemon, there is a small chance that the crops it nurtures with Grass Type Energy will undergo slight variations.

Review: Perfectly blends the flavors of different ingredients, popular among Grass Type Pokemon. A Grass Type Pokemon eating this may bring you a delightful surprise with gratitude.]

”As I expected, the level of the Green Grass Cake has increased from A to A+, and the probability of variation has changed from extremely small to small. This should be considered a substantial improvement, right?”

Naoki murmured thoughtfully.

After all, there’s no specific probability of variation marked, but it doesn’t matter. He’ll plant a bit more, and mutant crops will eventually appear.

Thinking of this, Naoki divided the Green Grass Cake into five portions, just like before, and sent them to Dolliv, the Gogoats, and Calyrex.

In the Glass Greenhouse, Calyrex wore a helpless expression on its face as it looked at the dessert emitting a grassy aroma in front of it.

Its little follower really is...

If it continues eating like this, it will be turned into a plump Calyrex.

But seeing the expectant gaze of its little follower, Calyrex could only sigh helplessly, pick up a fork, and begin to slowly savor the Green Grass Cake in front of it.

”Take your time eating, I won’t disturb you!”

Said Naoki, ready to turn and leave. However, he suddenly thought of something and turned back to say:

”By the way, the flowers in the flower field have bloomed, and I set up a pergola and a tea table there while you weren’t around. It’s a good time to enjoy some sunlight now.”

This season, as the temperature slowly rises, the Combees and Butterfrees have all returned to live outside.

Not long ago, Naoki had moved the Combees’ hive outside to make it easier for them to gather nectar.

The flower field? Calyrex nodded slightly, indicating that it would go have a look.

Seeing this, Naoki grinned and left, quickly finding Cyclizar sunbathing in the grass.

”Will you accompany me to the town?”

”Gyaoo~”

Cyclizar immediately stood up, shook the pollen off its body, then ran up to Naoki and knelt down, making it easy for him to ride on.

Shortly after they left, Calyrex’s figure flashed and appeared above the flower field on the pasture, overlooking everything below.

The flower field was square, with a circular area specially cleared in the middle, where indeed as Naoki said, a pergola had been set up.

Green flower vines climbed up the pergola, forming a natural little garden.

Warm sunlight poured into it, surrounded by a thriving flower field. The industrious Combees happily collected nectar above, while the Butterfrees perched on the pergola enjoying the sunshine with closed eyes.

Looking at this delightful and leisurely scene, Calyrex’s face broke into a smile.

It slowly landed in the garden, sitting on a wooden park bench and gazing at the verdant pastoral scenery in the distance.

Suddenly, as if thinking of something, Calyrex gently raised its hand, and the figures of Polteageist and Sinistea appeared in the garden.

Looking at them, Calyrex softly said, ”You may also bask in the sunlight in this garden!”

Porto Marinada Town, Elo Seed Store.

Naoki, guided by Elo, was choosing the seeds he needed, while Cyclizar squatted beside the shelf, looking listlessly at the clock on the wall.

”You’ve been here for a year without noticing! Time really flies!” Elo remarked, then asked, ”How is it? Compared to your previous traveling life, have you gotten used to country life?”

Naoki smiled slightly: ”To be honest, I originally thought I couldn’t handle this farming life. On the first day of plowing, I almost broke my back. If Cyclizar and Koraidon hadn’t been by my side, I wouldn’t have known what to do.”

”Hahaha!” Elo laughed heartily: ”That’s how it is for the first time. It gets much better once you get used to it!”

”Yeah!” Naoki nodded gently.

As they spoke, Naoki had already chosen the seeds he needed.

There were garlic, potatoes, strawberries, radishes, cucumbers, cabbages, and turnips.

Garlic can be made into garlic paste to spread on grilled meat, making it taste better.

Potatoes can be used to make mashed potatoes, French fries, etc.

Cucumbers can be pickled into sour, crisp snacks, perfect for enhancing meals when you lack appetite.

Elo packed all these seeds and handed them to Naoki: ”It totals 4,200 League Coins, please accept them!”

Naoki took the seeds, paid the money, then bid farewell to Elo and rode Cyclizar back to the pasture.

He stood by the farmland and shouted into a Diglett Hole. In no time, Diglett poked its head out from the hole.
