Not Being a Trainer This Time

Chapter 460: Chapter 275: Traveling Koraidon Is Back and Brought You a Gift (4k)

”Mr. Naoki...”

Arven clutched the strap of his backpack somewhat apprehensively, looking towards Naoki not far away.

Naoki gave him a slight smile and said, ”Welcome, Arven, don’t worry. Professor Sada has already talked to me. For the next few days, just make yourself at home here.”

Hearing this, Arven felt a sense of relief.

Growing up alone had taught him a lot early on.

Being a guest on others’ ranches made Arven worry that he might cause trouble for Mr. Naoki.

Arven walked over to Naoki with his backpack.

The old butler and Nemona noticed this quiet, reserved boy.

”Professor Sada...” Nemona picked up on the key information from their conversation.

As a reserve trainer, no one in the Paldea Region didn’t know Professor Sada’s name.

The cutting-edge Pokemon Doctor, who developed the Terastal phenomenon, allowing Pokemon to Terastalize during battles.

”Are you Professor Sada’s son?” Nemona asked in surprise.

Upon hearing this, Arven looked at the girl who was a bit younger than him and nodded silently.

”Wow!” Nemona said excitedly, ”Professor Sada and Professor Turo are the most amazing professors in the Paldea region! By the way, as their son, do you know how to battle Pokemon? Would you like to have a Pokemon battle with me?”

Arven: ”...”

As expected from Nemona, who loves Pokemon battles! Seeing Arven a bit at a loss for words, Naoki timely interjected:

”Alright, Nemona. Arven just arrived at the ranch and must be tired from the journey. He needs to rest for a bit.”

While speaking, a peculiar thought rose in Naoki’s mind.

How should I put it? It feels a bit like looking after relatives’ children...

”Alright then.” Nemona looked a bit disappointed.

The old butler seemed helpless, saying, ”Miss Nemona, you should rest a bit too.”

Nemona shook her head immediately, ”I’m not tired! Rancher, where are the Dragonite? Can I see them?”

”Of course.” Naoki nodded, ”The Dragonite are sunbathing under the tree over there.”

With that, he led the way.

The group crossed the fields and reached an open pasture.

By then, many Pokemon had already gathered there.

Besides the four Dragonite and five Dragonair, there were Glaceon and Cyclizar running on the grass.

Not far off, Koraidon lounged on the grass, leisurely enjoying the beautiful afternoon.

Looking further, in a grassy area surrounded by a wooden fence, three Gogoat could be seen.

On the other side of the fence, two majestic black and white horses galloped around the pasture, with a mysterious Pokemon with a huge head riding one of them.

Upon arriving, Nemona was instantly captivated by these Pokemon.

”Dragonair, Dragonite, Cyclizar, Glaceon, Dolliv, Gogoat... and so many Pokemon I’ve never seen before!”

Wow, wow, wow!

This place... is this paradise?

Nemona immediately rushed excitedly towards the group of Pokemon.

The old butler tried to stop her, ”Miss Nemona!”

But was unsuccessful.

The elderly white-haired man sighed helplessly, ”Miss Nemona is always so full of energy.”

Naoki smiled as he watched this scene, ”I can see that.”

Then, Naoki looked at Arven beside him and said:

”There’s been a lot of change in the ranch recently, and quite a few new Pokemon have joined. Would you like to take a look?”

Arven looked intrigued but didn’t rush forward like Nemona. Instead, he politely bowed and thanked, ”Thank you, Mr. Naoki!”

”Let’s go then!”

Naoki led Arven to catch up with Nemona.

Nemona was eagerly studying Koraidon, observing this large, muscular Pokemon exuding a wild aura.

Koraidon, resting with eyes closed, sensed the commotion nearby, opened its eyes slightly, and upon seeing the human in front, closed its eyes once more.

Oh, it’s this human!

Koraidon remembered her name. Wasn’t it Nemona?

The reason it remembered her was due to the next few years when this human, who loved Pokemon battles, would often come to the ranch.

Whether to challenge the Gogoat’s Grass Trial or Pawmot’s Thunder Trial, she even challenged ”it” once.

”Rancher, what kind of Pokemon is this?” Nemona asked.

”This one?” Naoki introduced with a cheerful smile, ”This is Koraidon.”

Nemona: ”Koraidon?”

Naoki nodded, ”That’s the name Professor Sada gave it. It’s a Pokemon discovered by Professor Sada.”

”Amazing!” Nemona exclaimed excitedly, ”It must be very powerful, right?”

Naoki: ”That’s right, Koraidon is a very powerful Pokemon. It has always protected this ranch, and thanks to it, the ranch has developed into what it is today!”

”Such a powerful Pokemon... I would love to battle it!” Nemona’s eyes were full of hope, but she also knew she was not a trainer yet.
