Not Being a Trainer This Time

Chapter 465: Chapter 277: The Path to Fame, Big Root (4k)

If the Calyrex were to perform a miracle and make the trees on the back mountain grow instantaneously, then its existence would certainly be discovered by the Paldea League.

In that instant, many thoughts crossed Naoki’s mind.

Like whether there would be people coveting the existence of Calyrex and how the Paldea League would treat a Pokemon of such significant meaning.

Would they treat it like the Johto League treats Ho-oh and Lugia, by building towers and erecting shrines for worship and homage?

Or would they trap it like Chairman Rose of the Galar League did to Eternatus, using it as a regional power source?

Naoki wasn’t worried about the latter.

The current Calyrex has regained its peak power, with Spectrier and Glastrier by its side, ordinary people would likely be reduced to dust by Astral Barrage and Glacial Lance.

As for whether Paldea’s chief champion would behave like Galar’s Chairman Rose...

Naoki believed that with Geeta’s character, she wouldn’t do such a thing.

He had met Geeta several times, and she was a champion with great wisdom and charm. Given her character, she would probably prefer to recruit Calyrex into the Paldea League rather than subduing it...

Then, only one possibility remains.

—The Paldea League would strive to promote the deeds of Calyrex to the people of the Paldea Region, establishing buildings like shrines to ensure everyone in Paldea believes in the King of Bountiful Harvests.

This way, it wouldn’t annoy Calyrex and would increase its goodwill towards the Paldea Region, thus making Paldea more prosperous.

However, the only downside is that Porto Marinada Town might attract a bunch of unseasoned trainers...

After a moment of inner conflict, Naoki made a decision.

Since it’s unavoidable, just let it be!

With Calyrex’s help, Gogoat wouldn’t need to expend as much energy as before to cultivate the World Tree.

This is just the right opportunity to involve those visiting trainers in the Grass Trial to let Gogoat stretch its legs.

Then, Naoki remembered Pawmot wielding a hammer and dealing blows.

”Hmm, besides the Grass Trial, perhaps we could add a Thunder Trial to increase Pawmot’s experience points, refine its combat skills, and make it a stronger Pokemon.”

”As for Dragonite, currently, its basic training seems to have reached a bottleneck. To progress further, it needs a lot of practical battle experience.”

And where does practical battle experience come from? Undoubtedly, it’s from battles.

Remembering Dragonite’s ability to summon storms, a new trial name emerged in Naoki’s mind—Storm Trial.

This way, the ranch could develop into a complete industry chain.

Trainers and travelers attracted by the Legendary Pokemon Calyrex—participating in the three major trials—boosting the ranch’s reputation—drawing more people in.

By the time the ranch becomes famous, the Rotom Phone would probably have been launched.

At that time, the world will officially enter the information age.

New and exciting things like the live streaming industry and online shopping would likely sprout up like mushrooms after the rain.

By then, he could officially establish Dragonite Delivery Company and invite all Dragonite from Dragonite Island.

Equip each Dragonite with a Rotom Phone that has navigation, positioning, and communication functions, and commission them to deliver ranch goods to various places in the Paldea Region.

And the first step to realizing this plan is to wait for those trainers and travelers to arrive.

These people can enhance Calyrex’s faith and help Dragonite and Pawmot, among other Pokemon, to exercise and hone their abilities.

Just the right opportunity for killing many birds with one stone, maximizing benefits.

A truly perfect plan!

Perhaps the smile on Naoki’s face was too ”sinister,” which drew a glance from Calyrex nearby.

”What are you thinking?” Calyrex asked.

”I’m thinking about what I’ll do next year!” Naoki answered with a bright gaze.

”Next year?” Calyrex had little concept of time’s passage.

”It’s almost next year.” Afraid Calyrex wouldn’t understand, Naoki added, ”For us humans, a year has three hundred sixty-five days, going through spring, summer, autumn, and winter.”

”Just like now, snow falling signifies the year’s end. When the ice and snow on the earth melt, life recovers, and flowers and grass grow again on the meadows, it means spring has arrived, and a new cycle begins.”

Upon hearing this, Calyrex’s mind cleared: ”I see, the Crown Tundra snows all year round, always showing the same scene, and it has been many years since I last saw spring.”

During that time, he once rode with his beloved steed across Galar Land, witnessing countless beautiful sights.

The blossoming spring, the scorching summer, the refreshing autumn, and the snow-covered winter.

Calyrex couldn’t help but fall into memories.

Indeed, as his memories showed, the last time he saw spring was many years ago, so long that he couldn’t recall how much time had passed.

”You can see it every year from now on.” Naoki said with a smile.

If nothing unexpected occurs, they would still live together for many years.

For Naoki, meeting so many Pokemon, living together with them and watching them eat meals he made, makes this life worthwhile!
